Reality Catches up to the Clintons, but It Ain’t Over

Yogi Berra famously said, “It ain’t over ‘til it’s over.” This means that you should never judge a political race until the votes are actually counted, or shut off the football game in the third quarter, that things can always change, sometimes dramatically.

But there seems to be increasing evidence that we can see the end in sight for Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations and, by extension, the free ride that Bill and Hillary Clinton have been getting for the last 25 years.

This denouement has been building since last Summer when a revered liberal election guru named Nate Silver claimed that Hillary had a 92% chance of winning. By mid-September, Silver had made a major adjustment – Trump by 55%.

So, friends, don’t believe these polls; they are largely biased to Democrats. Add 5 to 10 points to most polls for Trump if you want to know what is really going on. Remember that Ronald Reagan was 8 points behind Jimmy Carter at this point in 1980 but that Reagan went on to win in a landslide.

(And if you think that Trump is just a fluke, consider that an evangelical Christian conservative just won the mayoralty of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by 20 points. This comes shortly after another conservative won the mayoralty of Sao Paulo, Brazil.) has been saying for years that Donald Trump is a strong candidate and that Hillary Clinton is weak and vulnerable. Today Donald Trump looks more and more like the sure thing while Hillary Clinton looks like more of the same corruption and dishonesty that has swirled around the Clintons since they first appeared on the national scene in 1991.

Even longtime Democrat partisan and pollster Doug Schoen said about the new FBI probe into Hillary Clinton announced this past Friday:

“Given that this investigation is going to go on for many months after the election, no matter who wins, but if (Hillary Clinton) wins, we will have a president under criminal investigation … under these circumstances, I am actively reassessing my support. I’m not a Trump person. …I’m deeply concerned that we will have a Constitutional crisis if (Hillary is) elected. I want to learn more this week, see what we see. But as of today, I am not a supporter of the Secretary of State for the nation’s highest office.”

OK, friends, this is just the start. Rest assured that more and more Democrats are going to follow Schoen’s lead, and so will voters.

But where would the Democrats go if Hillary were to pull out? Would they pick Bernie Sanders? Or would they pick Tim Kaine, perhaps the only Democrat in America less likeable than Hillary Clinton?

Stunning. Four days ago we never would have seen this. Four days ago, Hillary was still being seen as the probable winner (but not by

Now we are seeing Hillary Clinton’s campaign tumble before our eyes and this is even before more revelations to come out this week, probably tomorrow November 1, from Wikileaks and from other sources that are believed to have the power to cast Clinton and her cabal in a devastating light.

But let’s be realistic. If a bombshell comes out about Donald Trump it could shift the whole race again. Also consider something much more sinister – that this whole FBI story may end up sidetracking us from the real issue which is Wikileaks, or worse, massive voter fraud that could sway the election to Clinton even as she reels from the FBI news.

And we could do nothing about it except protest and hope for an investigation… which Hillary would never do on a federal level if she were to take office.

Right now this new FBI investigation appears to be the straw that is breaking voters’ backs. Today, Monday, October 31, voters are groaning. They have awakened from a weekend that seemed like a dream – the FBI re-opening its investigation into Clinton.

Millions had been willing to accept Hillary Clinton only in order to stop Donald Trump. But now they are saying “Enough!” about Clinton with yet another scandal. They are looking down the road and seeing a potential Clinton presidency immersed in scandal before it even takes office.

This simply has become too much to absorb. Millions of voters are re-assessing Donald Trump and seeing that the same people who want to put Crooked Hillary Clinton into office are the ones who have caricatured Trump ruthlessly. And putting two and two together, millions of voters are deciding that Trump is not the monster that these people said, that in fact the monster may very well be Hillary Rodham Clinton and her corrupt cabal that just cannot seem to stop lying, cheating and stealing.

Another major shift could be voter turnout. This latest FBI deal may simply lead many Clinton supporters to stay home, which would be devastating for her campaign in close state races. It also would harm Democrat candidates lower on the ticket, like US Senate and House races and state races too.

It will be fascinating to watch the polls this week. A writer for a major Chicago newspaper called for Clinton to step down. More is coming. Commentator Michael Goodwin wrote in the New York Post:

A restoration of the Clinton presidency would be a restoration of the national and moral chaos (the Clintons) invariably create. They can’t help themselves. They are corrupt and corrupters, the ¬Typhoid Mary of politics.

Whether by nature or nurture, they are programmed to ruin. Friends, allies, institutions — all are stained by their touch.

And always, the Clintons blame somebody else. Now it’s FBI Director James Comey’s turn to embody their all-purpose bogeyman, the vast right-wing conspiracy. Somebody, sometimes everybody, is out to get them, unfairly of course.

So why did FBI director James Comey re-open the investigation into Clinton?

For two reasons: Because he found suspicious evidence on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. And he also faced a major backlash, including many resignations from his own agency, after failing to take action against Hillary on the issue of her e-mail server in the original probe which terminated last July. He only went so far as to say that Clinton was “extremely careless” in handling sensitive information on her private server but did not recommend criminal charges.

That finally caught up with Comey, and the Weiner case gave him an opportunity to legitimately re-open the case.

Hillary is now flailing around. She even claimed that Comey only sent his letter announcing the re-opening of his investigation to congressional Republicans, but that is false. But hey, in Clinton Land, you can say anything you want and get away with it.
Up until now, that is.

The legendary race car driver Richard Petty once said that the best you can do during any race is to put yourself in a position to win and then let circumstances dictate the outcome.

This is precisely what Donald Trump has done. Despite all the naysayers, Trump has stood strong and put himself in the race right on Clinton’s back bumper. And now he is letting the circumstances dictate the outcome. Let us pray that the Democrats do not pull yet another criminal act to steal the election back.
