GOP Establishment Loses Big/ Will Obama Pardon Hillary?

Nikitas3.com has discussed the many ways that the Democrat party was destroyed by the election of Donald Trump. Now it is time to look at the Republican losers.

This is now Donald Trump’s Republican party. Period. End of story. He leads it. It is on the way up. His loyal followers are the new princes of the party, and any Republican who crossed Trump is now out of the loop.

The Republican Establishment in Washington, DC is the biggest loser of all. Most of them opposed Trump. Rest assured that no member of the Establishment will get the Republican nomination for president for many years to come. This group will now be isolated from power.

After all Trump will probably serve two terms and then we could get vice president Mike Pence (a Midwestern conservative) as president in 2024. This prediction comes after this 2016 election closely paralleled the election of “outsider” Ronald Reagan in 1980. Nikitas3.com expects the outcome to play out much like it did back then when Reagan served two terms very successfully with an agenda of reform, and was succeeded by his vice president George HW Bush.

Today, however, the Bush family is officially dead and buried. Looking back on the Bushes, they have not done much at all for our conservative cause. Oh, sure, they were patriotic leaders and put some good people in the government. But they really are open-borders globalists with many socialist tendencies. George HW Bush served only one term, while George W. Bush destroyed his presidency with the Iraq war and so their legacy is weak already. And then the Bushes turned their back on Trump in the expectation that he would lose.

Well, Trump won and put the nail in the coffin of the Bush family. It all started with Jeb Bush’s horrible performance in the Republican primaries and went on from there.

Another major loser is Ohio Republican governor John Kasich who turned his back totally on Trump. Yet Trump won Ohio’s electoral votes by a wide margin even though Kasich refused to help him in his own state.

Nikitas3.com commented repeatedly over the last few years that Kasich would make a good president. He revitalized the state of Ohio in his first term as governor, and seemed on his way to bigger things. Then along came Trump, and Kasich eventually melted down after a bruising primary battle. Kasich now has no future in the Republican party of Donald Trump. Other losers on “our” side in the Trump Tidal Wave are:

*Fox News, which has become liberal in many ways. Foxnews.com repeatedly published inaccurate polls and bad news about Trump. Fox seemed in many ways to favor Hillary Clinton. Nikitas3.com believes that they did.

*Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh also lost. Neither ever uttered the words “I think Trump will win” or “I think Trump can win”. They both wrung their hands for months over Trump’s prospects of winning, particularly Hannity.

This is because Hannity and ‘Pumpkin Head’ Limbaugh were not willing to invest one inch of their reputations in predicting a Trump win for fear of being wrong.

If Limbaugh and Hannity had said “I think that Trump is going to win” or “I feel like there is a wave for Trump that will take him to the White House” or even “I definitely think that Trump can win” that would have echoed across the nation and would have helped Trump by firing up the electorate.

They both declined to do so. And that shows real cowardice like so many on our so-called “conservative” side who refused to see the reality of Trump’s coming victory.

Other so-called “conservatives” who turned their backs on Trump include the loony prepper Glenn Beck; the fake ‘redneck’ radio host Michael Berry; the RedState website and its puritanical chief Erick Erickson; and National Review Online, which is the child of conservative godfather William F. Buckley.
Now here is a second, editorial:

Will Obama Pardon Hillary?

Will Barack Obama legally pardon Hillary Clinton to avoid having her potentially suffer at the hands of federal prosecutors over her e-mails and over the Clinton Foundation?

Because Donald Trump has the power to pursue her for a long time to come. There is currently an investigation open over the Clinton Foundation. And rest assured that Hillary and Bill Clinton are terrified of the prospect of prosecution. They could end up in court for years.

You may think that a Democrat like Obama would certainly pardon a fellow Democrat, but there is much more to the story.

First, Obama and the Clintons have never liked each other. After Obama took the 2008 nomination from Hillary there was very bad blood between the two. That was healed somewhat when Obama made Hillary secretary of state, and when he campaigned for her in the recent election.

But that appointment and that campaigning both came out of political expedience. Obama appointed her as secretary of state in order to soothe hurt feelings over 2008; and he campaigned for her in 2016 in order to try to get her elected to save his own legacy. After all, Obama knew that his legacy would be in tatters if Trump won, which it now is.

Indeed we now have a totally new world. Obama expected Hillary to win and to not have to even consider a pardon. Now he must be thinking about it every day since he has only about 9 weeks to make a decision that may dog him for all time either way it goes. Here is why:

*If he offers no pardon, many Democrats will hate him for possibly subjecting the Clinton to enormous legal challenges.
*If he does pardon Hillary there are many pitfalls in doing so.

Obama can pardon Hillary in advance of any criminal charges being brought, because there are currently no charges against her.

If FBI brings charges in the Clinton Foundation investigation before Obama leaves office, he could pardon her outright for those charges. If FBI brings Clinton Foundation charges after Trump takes office, Hillary and Bill could be in big trouble.

Pardoning Hillary and/or Bill Clinton in any way is fraught with danger for Obama. First, he would take a massive hit to his legacy. We know that president Bill Clinton was severely criticized for his last-minute pardon of international fugitive financier Marc Rich, and that Republican president Gerald Ford suffered enormously for his pardon of Richard Nixon.

Obama knows darned well that he would come under a withering media assault from conservatives if he pardoned Hillary, particularly since the e-mail scandal concerns issues of national security that many conservatives want exposed. The Clinton Foundation investigation involves issues of international influence peddling which was predicated on Hillary winning the presidency.

Since Obama’s legacy is already dropping into the abyss he would probably refuse to take any risks in pardoning Hillary.

It gets worse on the other side. If pardoned Hillary would not be off the hook. After all she would be remembered for eternity as the woman who ran for president who apparently was engaged in criminal activity that required that she be pardoned.

But if she is not pardoned then Hillary very well could be legally pursued and that could be one really bad deal for her and her husband. They would never want images of them appearing repeatedly in court after the huge blow of losing the election.

It is all a gamble for the Clintons and for Obama. But then again that is what you get when you engage in decades of suspicious activity as the Clintons have, or you become linked to the Clintons in any way.

Eventually the truth always comes out, which is a very bad thing for a very bad couple like Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have been under a cloud since they first burst upon the national scene in 1991.

And that cloud may well be about to burst…
