Trump Courageously Trashes Tyrant Castro

Donald Trump is proving already that his presidency will be like no other we have seen in recent decades. When the murderous communist dictator Fidel Castro of Cuba died Trump went boldly after Castro with this statement that is more than even expected:

“Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights. While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve.”

“Though the tragedies, deaths and pain caused by Fidel Castro cannot be erased, our administration will do all it can to ensure the Cuban people can finally begin their journey toward prosperity and liberty. I join the many Cuban Americans who supported me so greatly in the presidential campaign, including the Brigade 2506 Veterans Association that endorsed me, with the hope of one day soon seeing a free Cuba.”

Wow. This is fantastic. Good for Trump. It sounds like president Ronald Reagan all over again. When Reagan called the communist Soviet Union an “evil empire” Democrats, socialists and communists all over America fell off of their chairs. Yet Reagan was 100% correct.

On the other hand, here is what Democrat Jimmy Carter, one of the worst US presidents ever (serving from 1977 to1981), said about Castro:

Rosalynn and I share our sympathies with the Castro family and the Cuban people on the death of Fidel Castro. We remember fondly our visits with him in Cuba and his love of his country. We wish the Cuban citizens peace and prosperity in the years ahead.

Then recall that Carter destroyed prosperity here in the US, leading to a landslide presidential victory for Reagan in 1980. So what is Carter saying about “peace and prosperity”?

It is hard to know. The US economic statistics when Carter left office were horrendous (10% unemployment, 12% inflation, 20% interest rates), and typical of what we get when a leftist implements policies that have impoverished nations for centuries. Meanwhile Obama was typically shameless about Castro. He wrote:

“Today, we offer condolences to Fidel Castro’s family, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Cuban people. In the days ahead, they will recall the past and also look to the future. As they do, the Cuban people must know that they have a friend and partner in the United States of America.”

Indeed the ‘Cuban people’ have a friend in the United States, but not their government. Fortunately president Trump is going to roll back the executive order that Obama signed normalizing relations with Cuba. These relations were intended to aid the ruined economy that 57 years of communism have produced for Cuba. expects Obama to attend Castro’s funeral. This would be in keeping with the militant extremist that Obama is. As the old saying goes, “Birds of a feather flock together.”

Even ESPN, the TV sports network, lauded Castro. And you may wonder, “Why the heck is ESPN doing that”?

Friends, ESPN is part of our media culture which has gone way over to the left. ESPN and the major sports in the US also are strongly influenced by left-wing blacks who make up a large percentage of football, basketball and baseball players. (Meanwhile NASCAR is generally ignored by ESPN because it is a white sport where people are conservative.) Here is what ESPN said about Castro (this is stunning):

At the Olympics, Castro’s athletes were at their best. Cuba won no gold medals at any Games from 1906 to 1968, but all of that changed beginning in 1972. In Munich, then in Montreal and then in Moscow — Games the United States boycotted — Cuba was an Olympic force. Heavyweight boxer Teofilo Stevenson won three consecutive gold medals and Alberto Juantorena became the first man to win both the 400- and 800-meter races.

Cuban sport was back in the international spotlight in 1991 as the nation hosted the Pan-Am Games, which, more than any athlete, Castro dominated. He seemed to be at every venue, cheering every heat and every Cuban athlete.

Blah, blah, blah. On and on. But of course we know that Cuba developed its sports culture as an international propaganda tool while the Cuban people were suffering enormously or just fleeing. It was all a blatant communist public relations scam that was lapped up by the international media, just as Castro planned it.

Meanwhile Justin Trudeau, the left-wing prime minister of Canada managed this slobbering praise for Castro:

“It is with deep sorrow that I learned today of the death of Cuba’s longest serving President.
“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation.
“While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for “el Comandante”.
“I know my father was very proud to call him a friend and I had the opportunity to meet Fidel when my father passed away. It was also a real honour to meet his three sons and his brother President Raúl Castro during my recent visit to Cuba.
“On behalf of all Canadians, Sophie and I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and many, many supporters of Mr. Castro. We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader.”

This deserves no further comment. It is sick. And if you want to know what is really going on, just look at how many of these very same people on the left who are praising Castro are trashing Donald Trump.

They have referred to Trump as ‘Hitler’ and a ‘fascist’ and a ‘white nationalist’ and a ‘racist’. Yet Trump has never made a single public policy that has affected the life of a single American.

Quite the opposite. In his private life Trump has created an $8 billion real estate empire and has employed tens of thousands of Americans, and Trump’s employees respect and admire Trump and are happy working for him. Meanwhile as the leader of Cuba, Castro destroyed the lives of millions of people through tyrannical control, execution, imprisonment, exile and an abysmal living standard.

Leftists are using Castro’s death to repeat various communist canards, for instance that Castro has given his people a high literacy rate.

First, this is certainly false, like all communist propaganda is. After all, our American public schools have destroyed education here. How could a government-run system be working in Cuba?

It can’t. And second who cares about literacy when the Castro regime doesn’t allow any free speech anyway and controls all of the books that are allowed to be owned or read?

Here is one more note: Leftists including Castro made a global enemy of general Augusto Pinochet, who overthrew a communist leader in Chile in 1973. Yet Pinochet turned Chile over to free elections in 1988 and Chile has had the strongest economy in South America for decades from Pinochet’s policies.

But after 57 years Castro has never offered free elections to his people while at the same time making them abysmally poor.
