Trump Immigration Action is Nothing New

We are seeing utter unhinged hysteria from the Democrats and media over president Trump’s executive order placing a temporary immigration hold on seven international hotbeds of terrorism – Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia.

Here is how describes it:

“Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States” is an executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump on January 27, 2017. The order, part of Trump’s immigration-related campaign promises, suspends the US Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) for 120 days, after which the program will be conditionally resumed for individual countries. The order also suspends entry, regardless of valid non-diplomatic visa by alien nationals of Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Sudan and Yemen 90 days, after which an updated list of prohibited countries will be determined. Further, the order suspends entry of refugees from Syria indefinitely. The order, however, establishes that exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis. Based on this exception, the Department of Homeland Security exempted lawful green card holders, citing national interest provisions in the executive order.

After decades in which the United States has been a dumping ground for tens of millions of poor, unskilled immigrants, including violent ones, Trump is going to turn the tables. To which says, “It’s about time.”

After the Trump action one Democrat US senator even called for “no screening” of immigrants at all. This is the type of extremism that is helping Trump to win the day on this issue. has long been calling for a halt to illegal and even much legal immigration into the US in order to absorb the millions who have flooded in both legally and illegally, and to start to impose order on our broken immigration system by expelling illegals, particularly, and starting with those who have committed crimes while here.

Many Muslims coming to the US today do not even want to become American; they want to remain separate as Muslims, they favor radical sharia law; and they are purposely confronting our social norms and being obnoxious and demanding. Democrats are only too willing to help them.

So why don’t they immigrate to Muslim nations? Why are they so anxious to immigrate into the Christian United States? Wouldn’t they be happier in Islamic nations? believes that they would. And should.

(Added note: The Syrian war is winding down and there is a call for Syrian refugees to return to their country and to help to rebuild it. Good. That is what has called for – defeat ISIS and end the war and rebuild Syria and Iraq using Middle Eastern oil money. That would be in the best interests of all.)

Millions of immigrants are now in the United States who have not applied for either visas or citizenship. It is not just illegals coming over the Mexican border, either. One of the major sources of today’s illegals is travelers who fly in from all over the world on visitor visas on a two-way plane ticket and never return, knowing that the US immigration system will not catch them. This alone probably amounts to several million.

Trump’s immigration action is nothing new. Republican president Calvin Coolidge imposed a permanent ban on all immigration in 1924 that lasted until 1965. Coolidge decided that it would be in America’s best interest to halt immigration altogether after a massive surge in immigrants in the early 20th century.

In the 1950s the United States forcibly expelled more than 1 million Mexican illegals in Operation Wetback. This operation actually was originated partly at the request of the Mexican government. believes that we need these same types of actions today. There are simply too many poor and unskilled people flooding into the United States, while our country already has tens of millions of poor citizens whom we cannot care for.

Now Democrats are acting like Trump’s temporary action is an outrage. So let us look at some of the vastly more aggressive actions that Democrats themselves have taken over the last 80 years regarding immigration:

*In the last few years Obama has imposed a de facto and unwritten ban on admitting Christian refugees from the Middle East to the United States, allowing in tens of thousands of Muslims but just an infinitesimal fraction of Christians, as little as one-tenth of one per cent Christian. Democrats have not uttered a peep of indignation about this unofficial “ban”. Why not? Because it bans Christians.

Now, in contrast, look at what Trump said about Christians:

“We are going to help them. They’ve been horribly treated. Do you know if you were a Christian in Syria it was impossible, at least very tough to get into the United States? If you were a Muslim you could come in, but if you were a Christian, it was almost impossible and the reason that was so unfair, everybody was persecuted in all fairness, but they were chopping off the heads of everybody but more so the Christians. And I thought it was very, very unfair.”

*Far-left Democrat US president Franklin D. Roosevelt put into prison camps 120,000 Japanese-Americans for the duration of World War II after Japan attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor.

*Here is an excerpt from The Gateway Pundit about the 1970s after the fall of Vietnam to the communists:

…Democrats blocked Vietnamese refugees, including orphans, when millions were trying to escape South Vietnam as it fell to the communists from the north. South Vietnam was our ally and we had little to nothing to fear from this group of people. The south Vietnamese weren’t beheading people, blowing themselves up, throwing homosexuals off buildings, and drowning people in steel cages.

As The Daily Caller reports, it was actually the Republicans who were leading the charge to help out the refugees.

The Daily Caller reports about the Democrats:

They even opposed orphans.

The group, led by California’s Gov. Jerry Brown, included such liberal luminaries as Delaware’s Democratic Sen. Joe Biden, former presidential “peace candidate” George McGovern, and New York Congresswoman Elizabeth Holtzman.

The Los Angeles Times reported Brown even attempted to prevent planes carrying Vietnamese refugees from landing at Travis Air Force Base outside San Francisco. About 500 people were arriving each day and eventually 131,000 arrived in the United States between 1975 and 1977.

These people arrived despite protests from liberal Democrats. In 2015, the Los Angeles Times recounted Brown’s ugly attitude, reporting, “Brown has his own checkered history of demagoguery about refugees.”

*Democrat president Jimmy Carter banned Iranians during the so-called ‘hostage crisis’ of 1979-80? Here are Carter’s own words:

“the Secretary of Treasury … and the Attorney General will invalidate all visas issued to Iranian citizens for future entry into the United States, effective today. We will not reissue visas, nor will we issue new visas, except for compelling and proven humanitarian reasons or where the national interest of our own country requires. This directive will be interpreted very strictly.”

*Here is some information about Obama’s ban on Iraqis in 2011. reports:

According to an ABC News article from 2013 , the Obama administration did indeed cease processing Iraqi refugees from entering the U.S. in 2011 for a six-month period, even people who had previously helped U.S. forces in Iraq. One person who applied for refugee status was killed while waiting to be processed. This happened after two Iraqi refugees in Kentucky were found to be al Qaeda terrorists and had allegedly killed U.S. soldiers while in Iraq. According to the report: “Several dozen suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some believed to have targeted American troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the United States as war refugees.”

*Obama issued the ‘wet foot, dry foot’ ban on Cuban refugees in January 2017, shortly before leaving office. This stranded up to 1,000 refugees who had fled Cuba, some of whom ended up being returned to Cuba to face a very uncertain future, possibly severe punishment. There was zero outcry from the same liberals about this ban.

Meanwhile here is what ultra-liberal Democrat US senator Chuck Schumer said in 2015. Schumer is leading the charge against Trump on his immigration action. This is from The Hill:

Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the third ranking member of the Senate Democratic leadership, on Tuesday said it may be necessary to halt the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the United States.

Republicans immediately seized on Schumer’s comment, which breaks with other Democrats who have argued against halting the program.

Schumer, however, declined to take the option off the table ahead of a special briefing scheduled for Wednesday afternoon on the process that is now used to vet refugees entering the United States.
