Billionaire Alarmingly Insists that Health Care is a ‘Right’

Look at this from if you want to see a huge problem in our country:

Ever ready to spout off about things political, Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire Mark Cuban now wants to shore up Obamacare, pushing the idea that the U.S. Constitution should be changed to proclaim health care as an American “right.”

Speaking to reporter Nicholas Ballasy of PJ Media, Cuban tried to explain his desire to implement nationalized, single payer health care. While on one hand Cuban doesn’t agree with government-run hospitals, on the other he thinks people should have a “right” to health care.

“I think health care should be a right. If there’s a legitimate way to modify the Constitution, I literally think there should be an amendment to the Constitution for healthcare for chronic illnesses and serious injury. We all play the genetic lottery,” Cuban said according to Ballasy.

This certainly sounds great and it is everywhere in liberal America. But it is really a misdirection that is intended to divert us from the truth. Cuban is ignorant about what makes our nation work, and what allowed him to get rich in the first place (his net worth is $3 billion).

Cuban’s original family name was Chabenisky, and he is American-born of Russian-Jewish ancestry. Cuban is a vehement anti-Trumper.

The US Constitution made us the wealthiest and freest nation in the world by guaranteeing our ‘rights’ like the freedom to speak our minds and assemble. Meanwhile health insurance, food, housing and cars are ‘needs’ and not ‘rights’.

Leftists want to switch the two and destroy freedom. Liberals ideally would want a Constitution that guarantees ‘needs’ and not ‘rights’. This would give total power to the government, which is what liberals want. They already are achieving this today through endless subsidies for “needs” like housing, education, food and health insurance. These subsidies give government tremendous power over tens of millions of people.

If liberals could substitute a Constitutional right to health care in exchange for the right to free speech, they would do it immediately. This would silence our free speech, which Democrats would happily do. But once they got the ‘right’ to health care they would then demand a ‘right’ to cars, houses, computers, food and every other material thing.

This would destroy liberty by allowing the government to decide what ‘things’ that people should have, and our Founding Father knew well that this is the route to totalitarianism. That is why our Constitution says nothing about our ‘needs’.

As an example, communist governments totally control their economies and decide what material things everyone “needs”, while denying people the ‘right’ to free speech or assembly or the right to own guns, i.e., the opposite of America.

We all have seen that communism has produced the most ugly picture in history. Communist nations are or always have been poor, backward, materially deprived and oppressed and they always descend into genocide because they become totally corrupt and violent.

This happens because the most incompetent and treacherous people use communism to work their way into the government in order to get wealth and exercise power in ways that they never could do on their own in the private sector. The government then becomes totally tainted, like we see today in North Korea.

Meanwhile South Korea has a living standard 15 times as high as the impoverished and starving communist north by adhering to principles of liberty and free markets.

Every poor person in the world now wants to come to the United State since we have operated for 230 years under a Constitution that guarantees ‘rights’ to the people, and not ‘needs’. Millions of people are fleeing and have fled communist nations whenever they can in order to come to America, which is not what liberals would predict. Theoretically the flow should be going the other way. Communism was supposed to be a “workers’ paradise”.

It is the same flow that we see in America today. Tens of millions of Americans, particularly younger, skilled and educated citizens, have run away from withering liberal states like Vermont, New York, Massachusetts and Illinois and into conservative states like New Hampshire, Texas, Georgia and South Carolina.

Just like we conservatives have always said they will…

Once people have their ‘rights’, as they do more fully in America than anywhere else in the world and in history, they can then proceed to take care of themselves and their ‘needs’. That is precisely how America became the envy of the world.

This happens because free people will by nature seek to advance themselves person by person, and by extension advance the whole country and its economy. But they can only do this if they have power over their own lives with as little government interference, regulation and taxation as possible.

The genius of the US Constitution is that it guarantees rights to ‘the people’ by limiting the power of the government to take away those rights, which governments historically have done.

But if you want to know how serious this situation has become, look at this from February 6, 2012 on Fox News:

As Egyptian officials prepare to send to trial 19 American democracy and rights workers, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg visited Cairo last week where she suggested Egyptian revolutionaries not use the U.S. Constitution as a model in the post-Arab Spring.

“I would not look to the U.S. Constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012,” Ginsburg said in an interview on Al Hayat television last Wednesday. “I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, have an independent judiciary. It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done.”

Now look at this provision of the South Africa constitution:

27. Health care, food, water and social security
1. 1. Everyone has the right to have access to ¬
A. a. health care services, including reproductive health care;
B. b. sufficient food and water; and
C. c. social security, including, if they are unable to support themselves and their dependants, appropriate social assistance.
2. 2. The state must take reasonable legislative and other measures, within its available resources, to achieve the progressive realisation of each of these rights.
3. 3. No one may be refused emergency medical treatment.

This provision #27 alone is a route to tyranny because it gives the government the unlimited power to grant ‘needs’ like medical care and food. Meanwhile freedom in South Africa is curtailed; the nation is very strongly dominated by the communist African National Congress. That is why South Africa is spiraling down into chaos and poverty.

The South Africa constitution is a dictatorial document and Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a tyrant for recommending it. Thus if you wonder why Ginsburg is a threat to our Constitutional freedoms, now you know.
