Kennedys Go Kookoo (Again)/ Trump Re-election Challenges

First, for a laugh, here is a quick word about the dying Kennedy “dynasty” which we once were promised would last 1,000 years (or, wait, maybe that was Hitler’s Third Reich…)

Two members of the Kennedy clan, Max Kennedy, 52, son of the late US senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Max’s daughter, Caroline Rose Kennedy, 22, were both taken into custody on August 20 in Barnstable (Cape Cod) Massachusetts for disorderly conduct at a house party which, in Kennedy-speak, means drunk/ stoned/ coked/ or general Kennedy insanity and dissolution. If you want to read the actual police report, it is here and it is a hoot.

The Daily News reports:

(Max) Kennedy allegedly responded to requests to make the party quiet down by “screaming incoherently and throwing himself at (a) wall,” where he then grabbed a wall cabinet full of glass valuables and smashed what was inside.

Yes, indeed, this is America’s “royal family” at work.

What a disgrace… This is reminiscent of the intergenerational Kennedy scandal of 1991 when US senator Ted Kennedy was out drinking in Florida with his nephew William Kennedy Smith, after which Smith was charged with rape.

The Max/Caroline arrests come after another member of The Brady Bunch, RFK grandchild Conor Kennedy, was arrested after a bar fight in Aspen, Colorado in December 2016. Here is that story, which was dutifully covered up by the mainstream media:

Meanwhile ABC News reported in 2014 about another RFK child:

A New York jury was poised to begin deliberations after Kerry Kennedy told them today how she accidentally took prescription sleeping pills that then “overtook” her, causing her to crash her car on a New York highway.

Kennedy, 54, took the stand to testify in her own defense today in her drugged driving trial. She is accused of driving under the influence of zolpidem, a sleep medication better known as Ambien, and slamming her Lexus SUV into a truck on a New York highway in July 2013.

Or maybe you remember this little gem from 2012 about the wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.:

The ex-wife of Robert Kennedy Jr., who was found hanged in a barn on Wednesday, had been distressed that she would lose custody of her four children to her ex-husband in their divorce battle.

A housekeeper found the body of Mary Richardson Kennedy, 52, after she had committed suicide at the family’s Mount Kisco estate in Westchester County, New York.

After news of her death spread, friends and neighbors laid bare the torment of Mrs Kennedy.

Gee, we never see the Trump kids doing this kind of stuff. Yet Democrats hate the Trump family. Do you know why?

Because Democrats secretly envy the Trump family. Remember the Golden Rule:

Envy is the most powerful emotion of all.

Now here is today’s main commentary:

President Trump’s 2020 re-election will hinge on political and economic issues, but also believes that he may face two separate and significant electoral challenges.

The first challenge could be anti-Trump political forces including Independents, Republicans and conservatives, and even some Democrats, rallying behind a somewhat conservative third-party challenger in the general election. This challenger would run expressly to siphon votes from Trump and hopefully give the White House to the Democrats

This challenger could very well be mega-billionaire and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, who considered a 2016 Independent presidential run. warned about him back in 2015.

Bloomberg would be 78 years old in 2020 and thus would not necessarily be interested in running for president although he might happily take the third-party ‘spoiler’ role as a way to stop Trump, whom he detests. That way he could campaign at a leisurely pace, but could pump some of his $53 billion personal fortune into the race with enough cash to tip the race away from president Trump. Bloomberg also would be guaranteed slobbering media coverage to help his campaign to undermine Trump.

This type of intervention was successful in 1992 when billionaire Bush-hater Ross Perot ran for president as an Independent, got 19% of the national vote, and sabotaged the re-election of George HW Bush to a second term. Perot ran as a quasi-Republican in order to siphon votes from Bush, giving the election to Democrat Bill Clinton. Perot did the same in 1996 against feckless Republican candidate Bob Dole.

This ploy also was used in a ‘special’ US House election in Upstate New York in 2011 when a wealthy liberal Democrat named Jack Davis ran as a fake Tea Party conservative for the specific purpose of drawing enough votes away from the Republican candidate to swing the election to the Democrat in the traditionally Republican district. It worked perfectly. believes that some anti-Trumpers already are scheming this deal for 2020 since they have seen it succeed and it could be their best hope to derail Trump. You can be sure that Bloomberg is thinking about it since he seriously considered running in 2016.

If Democrats had seen the Trump victory coming theorizes that Bloomberg certainly would have run in 2016 and that Hillary Clinton would have won the White House as a result.

In the second 2020 challenge to Trump, believes that Republicans will field primary challengers to the president possibly including 2016 candidates Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, along with some new faces like Nebraska US senator Ben Sasse and Arizona US senator Jeff Flake. Bush and Kasich particularly are fuming over their loss to Trump in the 2016 primaries.

In short, it would look like a primary election for an opposition party since incumbent presidents are rarely challenged much less by multiple candidates. But president Trump is no ordinary candidate. also believes that Trump would dominate these opponents as he did in 2016 since people like Bush and Kasich would be seen as disgruntled retreads and since Trump is much more popular than the media let on. His “base” voters would certainly vote to re-nominate him.

Just to show what is going on, look at this from Breitbart News about a political commentator named Bill Kristol, who is allegedly a conservative:

Bill Kristol, the “Never Trump” saboteur and top national security adviser H.R. McMaster ally, is apparently scheming with failed Jeb Bush consultant Mike Murphy to primary or oust President Donald Trump in 2020.

According to a Saturday New York Times reports, Kristol “said he had begun informal conversations about creating a ‘Committee Not to Renominate the President.’ We need to take one shot at liberating the Republican Party from Trump, and conservatism from Trumpism,” Kristol said.

In his recent newsletter, Kristol revealed that he met with Murphy in Southern California before last week’s Politicon conference to devise schemes to undermine Trump.

… According to Politico, in another edition of Kristol’s newsletter, he reportedly wrote that he and Murphy “ended up in a long session plotting the salvation of the GOP and conservatism from Donald Trump. We’ll see whether anything comes of it.”

Breitbart then goes on to report that Murphy is a loser who has run several famously bad campaigns. So this plot is certainly not going anywhere since Kristol is a colorless technocratic bore whom most people don’t find at all appealing or compelling. He is a guest commentator on ABC. also believes that primary challenges would actually help Trump by keeping him in the spotlight and allowing him to address the public directly on the issues in key electoral states rather than allowing the media or his opponents to define him.

No matter what you think about Trump, however, he won the White House on the issues and by running an effective and fresh campaign rather than winning on a tired political calculation (like that Hillary would be the First Woman President). And so believes that he can beat back a challenge both from within his party and also from a third-party candidate.

Whatever the anti-Trumpers are planning, they had better be prepared for battle because A) Trump is fearless and does not accept defeat; and B) he has tens of millions of enthusiastic supporters who are sticking with him like glue.

No political candidate in all of American history has been able to consistently energize huge crowds, even today, like Trump has. Or has exhibited the political courage to boldly confront challengers like he has done to Hillary Clinton (“Crooked Hillary”), Jeb Bush (“low energy”), John McCain (not a war hero), civil rights activist John Lewis, and Democrat US senator Richard Blumenthal over his falsified Vietnam service.

It is troubling that so many Republicans hate Trump in the first place. After all Trump saved the Republican party in 2016. If Hillary Clinton had won – and you can be sure that she would have beaten that cupcake Jeb Bush – Republicans, and the economy and illegal immigration and US national security, would be down the drain.
