Democrats Politicize EVERYTHING

To understand the huge problem now facing the National Football League (NFL) you must understand the hard-left socialists who have taken control of the Democrat party.

These socialists live and breathe for political power. Otherwise they have nothing; they are at heart non-productive people. And so they politicize absolutely everything that they possibly can in order to build that power. Now this has spread to professional sports.

Then consider this bombshell. America’s #1 Football Fan Rush Limbaugh said on his radio program on Monday, September 25:

“I was personally saddened. I did not watch the National Football League yesterday, and it was the first time in 45 years that I made an active decision not to watch, including my team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.”

“I realized that I can no longer look at this game and watch this game and study this game and pretend, you know, fantasize, everything a fan does. This whole thing (kneeling by players to protest the National Anthem) has removed for me the ingredients that are in the recipe that make up a fan. The mystique is gone.”

Wow. Kaboom. This is very bad news for the future of football, and the NFL had better take note. This is serious business. NFL viewership already is tanking. If Rush finds something else to do on Sunday, then millions of others will too.

But this all is no surprise. After the left has taken over and ruined our universities, the arts, the public schools, the entertainment industry and everything other institution that they could get their hands on, they now are coming after professional sports.

This is happening since the Democrats need to constantly find new ways to agitate their “base” voters, for instance over alleged racial discrimination. So they have brought the debate into the very visible workplace of professional football.

But if you look at the current electoral map of America Democrats have less political power than they have had in the last 100 years. Thus their strategy is not working. It is alienating Americans.

A very curious thing happened before the Monday Night Football game on September 25. The Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, perhaps the most famous team owner in American history, locked arms and “took a knee” in solidarity with his players before the National Anthem, but not during the Anthem. The players then stood for the Anthem.

So obviously Jones is considering with great seriousness what is going on out in the country with sinking TV ratings, and with a guy like Rush Limbaugh, and is very delicately seeking to soften the impact of the protesting players.

These owners are deathly afraid of two opposing forces – the protesting players (their employees) on the one hand versus the fans (their customers) who are paying the bills. Owners do not want to offend either one, and right now some owners are offending the fans big time by not simply ordering their players to stand for the Anthem, which they very well can do under team rules. NFL rules also say that players must stand.

This situation is still fluid. It will be crucial to see what happens in the coming weeks. If it goes in the wrong direction, professional football is finished. And if football goes away, it will never come back.

There is another issue bubbling up that has been swept under the rug for years. USA Today reports that 870 NFL players have been arrested for crimes since the year 2000. Some of these crimes are very serious. And so fans are going to take that into account too when wondering if pro football is worth their time. believes that some of these “kneeling” players are going to be like hard-core union activists. They know that their actions could shut down the company (pro football), but they push on. They are indoctrinated radicals.

Ironically most of these black players would be back on the streets if they were not earning millions on the field. They are basically uneducated brutes with no other skills. If I were them I would find another way to protest and let fans enjoy the game.

But the die is cast, and with president Trump weighing in and throwing down the gauntlet, the militants are going to find it hard to back down. They will feel humiliated by Trump if they do and it is highly unlikely that they will allow Trump to win. believes that president Trump is the winner on this issue after he spoke strongly against the players. American football fans everywhere also have the upper hand. After all, they can find something else to do on Sundays. But if the NFL folds up, these players are going to be out of their lucrative jobs.

If you want to see a somewhat similar situation, look at Indy-style auto racing. In 1995 a disagreement between two factions over rules and equipment led to a splintering of the sport. It has never recovered.

Trump did not start this whole thing; a black player did in Autumn 2016. Trump was merely responding to increasing protests. And so are fans, with Rush Limbaugh speaking for millions of them.

Naturally we are going to see black political activists taking the sides of the kneeling players. This will happen because the activists have nothing to lose. They don’t watch football, and their paycheck does not come from football. So they are going to egg on the protesters, particularly now that president Trump has weighed in and they see his comments as “white supremacism”.

This may well end up badly, but that would be nothing new. Labor unions destroyed the whole industrial economy in the Northern Tier of the United States from Illinois to Maine in the four decades after World War II. Through endless and relentless strikes and protests, the golden goose was slowly strangled even as millions of sensible Americans warned about what was happening.

Some players and managers may be able to convince their teammates that their on-field protests are threatening their jobs. But that could be very risky; it could cause major strife inside the teams. And so any moderate voices may be afraid to speak up, just like moderate muslims are afraid to speak out against the radicals.

Obviously the Dallas Cowboys had a well-thought-out strategy for the “kneeling” action on Monday night. It was intended to mollify the black players but not offend the fans. It worked out marginally, but it is no long-term solution. The fans will not put up with this stuff for long. They want football, not weekly politics at the one time when they want an escape from the daily grind, including politics.

Look at what happened to the sports network ESPN when it became very political. Once considered the gold standard for sports reporting, it now has sunk into the basement. The moneybaggers who run the NFL certainly have taken note of that. They should print out the story of ESPN and distribute it to their players.

We can expect the Democrat party to side with the players since Democrats are professional politicizers. One black congresswoman even called for all players to kneel for the Anthem. Naturally her paycheck, and her future, are not at stake.
