Opioid Crisis Comes Straight out of the Liberal 1960s

President Trump made an eloquent statement on October 26 about treating the “opioid crisis” as a national health emergency.

Tens of thousands of Americans are now dying from opioid addiction every year. Legal opioids are described by Wikipedia for:

… the relief of mild to severe pain, but are usually reserved for moderate to severe pain. The weak opioid codeine, in low doses and combined with one or more other drugs, is commonly available without a prescription.

Opioids include opiates, an older term that refers to such drugs derived from opium, including morphine itself. Other opioids are semi-synthetic and synthetic drugs such as hydrocodone, oxycodone and fentanyl; antagonist drugs such as naloxone; and endogenous peptides such as the endorphins. The terms opiate and narcotic are sometimes encountered as synonyms for opioid. Opiate is properly limited to the natural alkaloids found in the resin of the opium poppy although some include semi-synthetic derivatives. Narcotic, derived from words meaning ‘numbness’ or ‘sleep’, as an American legal term, refers to cocaine and opioids, and their source materials; it is also loosely applied to any illegal or controlled psychoactive drug. In some jurisdictions all controlled drugs are legally classified as narcotics. The term can have pejorative connotations and its use is generally discouraged where that is the case.

In other words, the crisis is basically “pill popping” of prescription drugs. Fentanyl is seeing widespread abuse these days. It is described this way:

… a powerful synthetic opioid analgesic that is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent. It is a schedule II prescription drug, and it is typically used to treat patients with severe pain or to manage pain after surgery. It is also sometimes used to treat patients with chronic pain who are physically tolerant to other opioids. In its prescription form, fentanyl is known by such names as Actiq®, Duragesic®, and Sublimaze®. Street names for fentanyl or for fentanyl-laced heroin include Apache, China Girl, China White, Dance Fever, Friend, Goodfella, Jackpot, Murder 8, TNT, and Tango and Cash.

Fentanyl is being synthesized clandestinely in places like Mexico and is being heavily trafficked in powder form by illegal aliens in the US. It even is being synthesized in China and mailed in powdered form to addresses in the US for consumption and distribution.

This is the reverse of the opium crisis in China in the 19th century. One of the big traffickers then was Warren Delano, American grandfather of US president Franklin Roosevelt.

Heroin is a raw illegal drug that is distributed in powder form and injected into the body with needles after liquification. It too is made from the secretions of the opium poppy, largely from Afghanistan, and, according to president Trump, 90% of the heroin sold in the US comes over the Mexican border. This is another reason for the wall on that border.

This whole epidemic comes straight out of the 1960s when the communists in the universities and their ‘hippie’ friends in the rock music world and the literary world and the media recommended and glorified illegal drugs of every type as “fun” and “cool”. Cocaine was glamorized in the 1970s and 1980s by books like Bright Lights, Big City and in the Studio 54 dance club in New York.

This all came straight out of the playbook of the failed communist Soviet Union that wanted to destroy the successful United States. Conservatives then were called killjoys and party poopers for telling kids to stay away from drugs.

We have no idea what the real toll has been up until now since the media and the universities rarely if ever reported on the devastating effects produced by their friends who have been promoting and peddling marijuana, hashish, cocaine, peyote, opium, mushrooms, LSD and heroin along with prescription drugs like secanol and nembutal. Prescription percocet was popular among the ‘hippies’ of the 1960s. It is described as:

a combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone . Oxycodone is an opioid pain medication. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic. Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of oxycodone.

Thus when a generation of 77 million American baby-boomer youth was brought up consuming this stuff and thinking it normal, it became normalized. As universities have looked the other way as drug abuse flourished on campuses, we get the opioid epidemic of 2017. Now finally we are getting hard figures on how many are being affected by opioids alone, and it is a brutal picture; more than 30,000 Americans per year are now dying.

For decades the toll of drug abuse was largely ignored. While we practically have a written history about every person who has died from smoking cigarettes, there has been precious little publicity about many millions who have died from, or had their lives destroyed by illegal drugs. When you see homeless people on the street, or people living in miserable conditions or mentally ill, they may well have been ruined by something as “harmless” as marijuana.

The American Medical Association calls even marijuana “dangerous”. It is. Nikitas3.com is acquainted with people who have been badly harmed by marijuana including the son of a friend, a relative, and a wealthy acquaintance with a wonderful family who died in an accident recently while ‘stoned’.

But this is never discussed since the Fake News media is on the political left that now wants marijuana legalized so that they and their cronies can make fortunes off of it. The push to legalize other drugs is on the horizon.

Christian pastors and NRA members and conservative farmers and police officers told us to stay away from drugs but the communists told us that these good people were ‘uncool’. Fortunately Americans are paying attention now that the crisis has exploded.

For decades the radical leftists and their acolytes have been portrayed as the “hip” people like Nikki Six of the rock band Motley Crue who glamorized heroin use for many years as chronicled in his 2007 book The Heroin Diaries, which is now in a major reprinting and getting wide publicity.

Most heroin dealers in the US are black, while illegal aliens of every stripe are trafficking all of the other stuff including Dominicans distributing fentanyl in Massachusetts. And when the illegals get caught liberal judges often go easy on them so that they don’t get deported.

See the pattern? This is just an extension of the 1960s. No wonder we have an epidemic. It is intended to destroy us, from the same people on the political left who wanted to kill us in the 1960s.

A famous ‘counterculture’ writer from the 1970s named Hunter S. Thompson glamorized and abused drugs for decades. In 2004 Democrat US presidential candidate John Kerry even joked about having Thompson as his running mate. Ha-ha. Thompson shot himself in the head and died in 2005 as his son, daughter-in-law and grandson sat in the next room of his home in very liberal and very “cool” Aspen, Colorado.

This opioid epidemic is now sweeping through all of America, including cities and suburbs, and even including small towns and rural areas. These latter two are places where people should know better but unfortunately the media now reach these conservative areas with drug-associated rock music and heavy metal music, satanism, evil internet websites, films, books, magazines, radio and TV. Interstate highways allow urban drug dealers to reach rural areas quickly with cars loaded up with drugs. This has led to a major increase in crime in rural areas.

But it is not just kids or poor people who are becoming addicted. Working class folks are being drawn in, and everyone else too. Even wealthy Rush Limbaugh got hooked on oxycontin after spinal surgery that left him in great pain. But Rush got over it quickly since conservatives are able to overcome such pitfalls through personal discipline and force of will.
