First here is a quick excerpt from the Daily Star in Britain:
At least 165 people have been killed by the devastating outbreak of an airborne disease spreading like wildfire in Madagascar (an island off the coast of Africa.)
Around another 2,000 people have been struck down by the – called pneumonic plague – by the lethal “medieval disease”.
…Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, Dr Avison said because the disease is “extremely rare” it has been “resilient” to antibiotics.
OK, so what does this mean?
It means that Democrats in the US will soon demand direct flights to/from Madagascar for the first time in history in order to bring this plague to America along with hundreds of new “immigrants”, er, uh, visitors, uh, well, patients to get massive amounts of free medical care.
Now here is today’s main commentary:
Since Democrats are focused only on having political power then we need to look forward to how they might worm their way into the 2020 presidential election.
Nikitas3.com has listed the many people who might run against president Trump including businesspeople who are molded on Trump’s “outsider” image.
But Democrats and even anti-Trump Republicans may use another legal but underhanded tactic to defeat Trump and that is to intentionally run a shill third-party candidate to draw votes away from Trump and give the election to the Democrat.
We must beware of this possibility and president Trump must be prepared to campaign vigorously against it. And knowing how bold Trump is, shill candidates may decide against running. They saw him mow down every opponent in 2016 and know that it could definitely happen again, particularly to a fake candidate.
We saw the power of a third-party candidate in the 1992 presidential election when independent Ross Perot won 19% of the popular vote and helped to defeat sitting president George HW Bush who was running for re-election. Perot was a Bush-hater and he knew what he had to do.
In a 2011 special congressional election in upstate New York a rich liberal Democrat named Jack Davis ran as a fake Tea Party candidate in order to draw enough votes from the Republican to give the seat to the Democrat in a traditionally Republican district. It worked.
Now let us consider how Democrats might do the same thing in the presidential election of 2020.
Nikitas3.com believes that Democrats would run a somewhat conservative candidate who talks vaguely about economic growth, a strong military and family values, like Trump does but who is marketed as “not Trump” to induce voters to jump the Trump ship.
Nikitas3.com believes that Democrats would definitely have run such a candidate in 2016 if they had known how strong Trump really was. It would have been someone like mega-billionaire Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City (net worth $45 billion). There has been repeated talk over the years about Bloomberg running for president but he never has. He probably decided not to run in 2016 by polls showing Hillary Clinton winning easily.
Will Bloomie run in 2020 as a shill candidate? So that Democrats do not make the same mistake over again?
It’s possible. Bloomie will be 78 years old and would not have to worry about being president, but only about helping to throw the election to the Democrat. That would be extremely satisfying since Bloomberg hates Trump. Bloomberg is liberal but he ran New York as a somewhat conservative mayor, and thus he could act like a moderate or conservative in 2020.
Bloomberg could run a campaign that does not require the aggressive day-to-day campaigning of a major-party presidential candidate. He also could avoid a bruising, months-long primary battle.
Bloomie would get massive amounts of free, positive coverage from the Trump-hater media. He could even pump hundreds of millions of advertising dollars of his own cash into the campaign, which he probably would consider money well spent to dump Trump.
You may think that we already had a somewhat conservative third-party candidate in 2016 in libertarian Gary Johnson who certainly drew many more votes from Trump than from Hillary since libertarians are anti-government.
Johnson drew 4.5 million votes but he was not very smart or charismatic. He could have cost Trump the election if he had done better. But this 2020 shill campaign would be seeking a candidate with more force and appeal and with one single goal – to shift the election away from president Trump.
The ideal shill candidate would have a lot of money in order to finance his own campaign, and be somebody with personal appeal. If Johnson ran again too, that would be a big help since Johnson is a known quantity and already would be drawing votes away from Trump.
Shill candidates could include billionaires like Mark Cuban or Tom Steyer or a high-profile, well-known candidate from sports or the media or Hollywood who is financed by George Soros or Silicon Valley money. The possibilities are endless and certainly are being discussed right now.
