The Democrats have been looking for any type of ‘miracle’ presidential candidate to hopefully pull them out of their political free-fall.
Their latest pipe dream is Oprah Winfrey. What a joke. Winfrey’s career has been built primarily on sitting on a couch in front of TV cameras and talking about hair and makeup with airhead celebrities, and making women cry and giving away free cars. So big deal.
What qualifications does Winfrey have? On the economy? What life-and-death decisions is she qualified to make about military action?
None. She is a shallow media personality and Trump would slam her hard. He is not afraid of her celebrity like many politicians would be. He would point out that she would take us back to the bad old days of economic stagnation and massive illegal immigration that we had under Obama.
Nikitas3.com predicts that Winfrey won’t run. It is a very strenuous pursuit and she is at heart a lazy media person. It all sounds like a good idea but the reality is quite different.
It takes real smarts and a real spine to be a good president. Many have failed – Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Obama, all failures. What makes anyone think that Winfrey could do better?
But boy, if you listened to the media after Winfrey gave her speech at the Golden Globes last Sunday night you would have thought that Martin Luther King had come back to life.
You can be sure that if she did run that the celebrity effect and the giddiness would wear off quickly and that Americans would start to look at Winfrey seriously and that her appeal would fade fast. All we would need is a single TV interview on the issues to expose her. After all you can’t win the White House by saying that you are going to give everyone everything for free, which would be Winfrey’s platform.
Imagine Winfrey debating president Trump directly. He would destroy her in front of a national audience like he did to Hillary. Trump’s incumbent advantage in 2020 is going to be huge. And as the economy improves he is going to tell Americans not to “change horses in the middle of the river”. This will be a very effective approach.
Winfrey also would have to go through a bruising Democrat primary where a large number of expected opponents would spend a lot of time cutting her down to size. This would take a lot of luster off of her image.
Winfrey also seems to hate white people. Here is what she told the BBC in a 2013 interview:
“Of course the problem is not solved. As long as people can be judged by the color of their skin, the problem is not solved. As long as there are people who still-and there’s a whole generation-I said this for apartheid in South Africa, I said this for my own community in the South. There’s still generations of people, old people who are born bred and marinated in it and that prejudice and racism and they just have to die.”
This does not sound very presidential. Once again the Democrat/Hollywood/media elite is caught up in its own world. They should wake up and realize that there is a real world out there that wants real leadership, not a celebrity like Winfrey is and like they are. But they won’t.
Then it is important to remember that Winfrey was buddy-buddy with Harvey Weinstein and that Winfrey and the other top Hollywood phony Meryl Streep certainly knew about Weinstein’s abuse of women.
There is big trouble brewing for Winfrey on this front. There is already a Twitter hashtag called #OprahKnew. This is going to grow, rest assured.
It is getting worse day by day. Juanita Broaddrick, who has claimed for 20 years that Bill Clinton raped her in 1978, tweeted out:
Hey @Oprah #Goldenglobes.. Funny I’ve never heard you mention my name. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?Guess not. My rapist was/is your friend, Bill Clinton
Streep and Winfrey are routinely held up as demi-goddesses. This shows how corrupt Hollywood is.
Repeat: Oprah Winfrey will never be president.
Trump Thumps the Chumps Who Hate Him
Let’s face it – CNN is permanently known as the Fake News Network. That will never be reversed. President Trump has made sure of that.
In fact president Trump is thumping his adversaries in every possible way. Nikitas3.com has written about this over and over. Every time that they think that they have Trump in a corner it boomerangs and takes out the media skunks themselves, like Brian Ross at ABC News.
Now the president is striking back at the salacious book that was published about the Trump White House by Michael Wolff. The book is called Fire and Fury and it makes Trump look very bad. The title is based on Trump’s response to Kim Jong Un that the United States will respond with “fire and fury” to any North Korean threats.
The president is slamming the author, calling the book “a work of fiction”. He added “it’s a disgrace that he can do something like this. Libel laws are very weak in this country. If they were stronger, hopefully, you would not have something like that happen.” Trump also has referred to Wolff as a “fraud”.
This is fantastic. For decades we on the conservative side have been waiting for a leader who will smash the media and the Democrats between the eyes instead of letting them defame us endlessly.
Trump is punching back hard every day and it is having a devastating effect. But alas he has help. In a hilarious reply to the Wolff book president Trump tweeted out an image of a look-alike spoof book called Liar and Phony (versus Fire and Fury) with a picture of Wolff on the front and with damaging quotes from various media people about the book. This is a very effective counter-punch since these critics are not even Trump supporters.
“He gets basic details wrong,” said Maggie Haberman of The New York Times.
“Wrong, sloppy” said Mike Allen and JimVandHei of Axios.
“Sloppy” said CNN’s Alisyn Camerota.
“The author… says he can’t be sure if parts of it are true” says Business Insider.
“… a broader skepticism among journalists over the veracity of certain details…” said Michael Calderone of Politico
If Trump wrote such a book we would never hear the end of it. Yet many Fake News media sources are still treating the book as legitimate.
As usual Trump took no prisoners. He tweeted:
Now that Russian collusion, after one year of intense study, has proven to be a total hoax on the American public, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence…..
…Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star…..
…to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius….and a very stable genius at that!
Wow. Can you imagine Jeb Bush doing this? This ‘stable genius’ comment has the media doing somersaults. And this is exactly what Trump wants. He knows precisely how to pull their chains.
Trump also tweeted:
Michael Wolff is a total loser who made up stories in order to sell this really boring and untruthful book.
White House aides have mounted an all-out assault on the book calling it “fiction” and a “complete fantasy.” Great. We need to have total war against these media rats for their decades of lies.
Here is The Daily Caller pointing out eight of the errors in Wolff’s book that they already have found. These are just basic errors that show how lackadaisical the author is with the truth:
1. The most striking portrait of Wolff’s carelessness in checking basic facts occurs in the early chapters of the book where he misspells a CNN political analyst’s name, misidentifies the position commerce secretary Wilbur Ross was nominated for at the time, and places a reporter at a restaurant he says he has never been to.
2. Wolff parroted a claim that the president once skipped a meeting with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in order to get a haircut. Washington Post White House reporter Ashley Parker noted several journalists heard the claim, “but no one wrote it bc every source w first-hand knowledge said it simply wasn’t true.”
McConnell’s chief of staff Don Stewart followed up on Parker’s tweet, saying the incident absolutely had not happened.
3. Wolff printed an unsubstantiated claim that Trump had no idea who former House speaker John Boehner was after the election. Trump, however, has tweeted about the former House speaker seven times since July 28, 2011 referencing ongoing political events.
Boehner even told a Stanford audience in April of 2016 that Trump was his “golfing and texting buddy.” Worse, Wolff claimed Boehner was forced to resign from intra-party strife four years earlier than he actually did so.
4. Wolff’s book claimed that CNN is the outlet which published in full the unsubstantiated salacious dossier on the president compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele. BuzzfeedNews is the outlet which published the dossier in January 2017.
5. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders noted to reporters Thursday that Wolff printed communications director Hope Hicks’ age as 26 when she is actually 29.
6. Several persons included in the book have denied outright quotes attributed to them by Wolff in the book. Former UK prime minister Tony Blair said a supposed recreated conversation between him and Jared Kushner was “categorically absurd” and “simply untrue.” Several former Trump aides quoted at length in the book have vehemently denied quotes attributed to them, including former deputy chief of staff Katie Walsh and Breitbart chairman Steve Bannon.
7. Wolff appears to have gotten one of his own quotes wrong writing in one column that media-mogul Rupert Murdoch called the president a “fucking moron” and writing elsewhere that he said “fucking idiot”.
8. Wolff characterized counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway as a “small time pollster” never involved in a national campaign.” Pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson noted however that Conway in fact was involved in a number of major national corporate projects prior to joining the Trump 2016 campaign and previously was a national pollster for former House speaker Newt Gingrich.
If you want to see the level to which the US news media have sunk, look at this from The Daily Caller:
MSNBC personality Stephanie Ruhle is not interested in whether or not Michael Wolff’s latest book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” … is true or not because “the spirit of the book” holds truth.
On Thursday, Ruhle told her audience, “I’ve spoken to people inside the White House in the last 24 hours who have said, ‘Even if not all of it is true, the spirit of the book is and it’s troublesome.’”
Woah?! You might think that this is a spoof but it is not. This is how the left thinks – whatever they want to be true is true to them, whether it is true or not. This is how they have built up their Fake News empires over the last 50 years.
We see this narrative every day in the Russia-Trump collusion story. These people think that that story will become true since they want it to be true. Sick!
These skunks like Wolff base their careers on some semblance of credibility. Wolff’s credibility is now gone. This book is fast becoming another media scalp on Trump’s wall, another anti-Trump boomerang. There will be many more over the next 7 years.
