Trump Aces Medical Exam/ ‘Greenies’ Want Plastic Packaging Ban

Democrats are in yet another state of despair over president Trump’s medical exam. They hoped that he would have a bad heart or cancer.

Not only did the president pass his physical exam with flying colors, but the president separately and intentionally requested a cognitive (mental) exam and passed it 100%, pulling the rug out from under the claim that Trump is mentally unfit. reports:

The White House briefing began with a readout of President Trump’s vitals from Dr. Ronny Jackson, who conducted the routine physical examination. “The president’s overall health is excellent,” Jackson said.

Jackson said Trump requested a cognitive exam during the session. Trump scored 30/30 on a test of his cognitive ability — “The Montreal Cognitive Assessment” which screened for Alzheimer’s and dementia, among other illnesses — Jackson said. “I have no concerns about his cognitive ability.”

• Trump is 6’3” and weighs 239 pounds. Jackson added that he discussed a diet plan with the president that would include a smaller amount of carbohydrates and fats. A reasonable goal is for Trump to lose 10–15 pounds in the next year, he said. “The president has acknowledged that he’d be healthier if he lost a few pounds.”
• The president’s blood pressure is 122/74, a normal level, and he has a resting heart rate of 68 beats per minute.
• Trump’s medications: Crestor, Aspirin, Propecia — to prevent male pattern hair loss — and a multivitamin.
• “His cardiac health is excellent … That’s not me speaking. That’s objective data.”
• How is Trump healthy despite his diet and lack of exercise? “He has incredibly good genes. It’s just the way God made him.”
• Trump’s physical exam lasted over 4 hours and involved 12 additional medical consultants, Jackson said.

The Fake News media went insane, as if to reject the president’s excellent health and peppering Dr. Jackson with negative question after negative question, even suggesting that the doctor may be covering up something bad about the president’s health. Meanwhile the same media never questioned whether Obama’s cocaine and marijuana addiction as a teenager and college student, or his decades of heavy cigarette smoking may have affected his health

The same Fake News media skunks repeatedly ignored Hillary’s bad health, like having to be helped up the steps in one famous photo. Or the time she collapsed at the 9/11 memorial service. Or Bill Clinton saying in an interview that Hillary passes out or faints “frequently”.

Enough said. The president is fine. Now here is a commentary about plastic packaging:

As explained in a recent commentary the goal of environmentalism has nothing to do with the environment. The goal is to replace private-sector efficiency with government-subsidized and government-mandated INefficiency that makes environmentalists powerful and rich.

The ‘greenies’ now have opened a new front in this war on efficiency. Look at these excerpts about plastic packaging from The Daily Mail website in Britain. Each excerpt is followed by a comment:

Daily Mail reports: A UK supermarket chain (the chain is called “Iceland”) will be the first in the world to remove plastic packaging from all of its own-label products. … The company, which has more than 900 stores, has a five-year plan to ditch plastic from all of its own-brand products.

Packaging on 1,400 product lines will be replaced, and the changes involve more than 250 suppliers. First to go will be plastic ready meal trays in favour of wood-pulp alternatives made in Britain. Plastic bags used for frozen vegetables and other food will then be dropped in favour of paper alternatives. comment: OK, so here we go again. Since ‘greenies’ do not like plastic they are seeking to have it replaced. But plastic is popular because it is extremely efficient and very cheap. It preserves food much better and longer than other materials.

Thus without plastic we can expect higher packaging costs along with a significant drop in the shelf life of food products. This will harm the economy and the environment since we will need to produce, process and ship much more food since more of it will spoil. And producing, processing and shipping food requires large amounts of energy which is bad for the environment.

Plastic is extremely efficient. That is why everyone from caterers to supermarkets to restaurants to bakeries to home kitchens and everyone else have been using plastic wrap and plastic packaging and containers for as long as they have been around. Even poor third-world countries use a lot of plastic since it is so cheap and efficient.

Daily Mail reports: (The supermarket chain) Iceland, which has already removed plastic disposable straws from its own range, is also working on alternatives for plastic bottles and milk cartons. comment: Glass bottles were replaced by plastic since plastic is cheaper and it is lighter than glass, and therefore less energy is needed to ship things like cooking oil or soda pop in plastic bottles. There also is less loss to breakage. These positive factors are always ignored by the ‘greenies’.

Plastic is made from petroleum. And so if we switch from plastic milk bottles back to waxed paperboard milk “cartons” that means that we have to cut down millions of trees for the paperboard, and also need to use large amounts of wax, which is also made from petroleum. So where are the advantages for the environment from eliminating plastic? The waxed paperboard cartons are also heavier than plastic and so they need more energy for shipping.

Daily Mail reports: Last week (British prime minister) Theresa May set a 25-year deadline to banish ‘avoidable’ plastic and called on supermarkets to introduce plastic-free aisles. comment: This is another movement with a deadline on it. This is how the ‘greenies’ always work, i.e., we have to hurry before it is too late. It is just like governments telling us to quickly shut down nuclear power plants and replace them with windmills. But the ultimate cost of windmills to the economy and to the environment is huge. Windmills are grossly inefficient and expensive, produce small amounts of expensive energy and they mar the land indelibly.

Banning plastics will have the same negative effect on our food supply and economy. It all sounds great until you actually calculate the costs.

Daily Mail reports: Iceland managing director Richard Walker said yesterday: ‘The world has woken up to the scourge of plastics. A truckload (of plastics) is entering our oceans every minute, causing untold damage to our marine environment and ultimately humanity – since we all depend on the oceans for our survival.’ comment: Here we have an emotional scare story right out of a ‘green’ pamphlet – “a truckload (of plastics) is entering our oceans every minute”. This is obviously an image that is fabricated by the ‘greenies’ to frighten us.

In fact environmentalists have been talking for years about something called the Pacific Garbage Patch out in the Pacific Ocean that is alleged to be a patch of garbage as big as the state of Texas that is swirling around out there. Yet the “patch” has never actually been seen or photographed. It is another ‘green’ myth like ‘global warming’ and ‘rising sea levels’.

Daily Mail reports: The switch from plastic will cost Iceland money, but it pledged there will be no corresponding rise in prices. comment: Baloney. This is like the ‘greenies’ telling Germany that solar panels will bring down the price of electricity since the sun is “free”. So Germany is shutting down its nuclear power plants and installing solar panels all over the place. And now Germany has electricity rates three times as high as the US and the German people are furious.

Daily Mail reports: (Iceland’s) new ready meal trays are wood pulp rather than plastic, and although they will initially be coated with a thin layer of plastic, the supermarket giant plans to replace this with a water-based, non-plastic spray coating. comment: Yessiree, and how many forests will be cut down to make the wood pulp trays and all of the other paper and wood products? They never talk about that. On the other hand plastic is made from oil which comes from underground deposits.

Daily Mail reports: Recently, some of retail’s biggest figures, including former bosses of Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Asda and Debenhams, signed a statement calling for an end to throwaway plastic packaging. They said: ‘Over the past decade Britain’s retailers have in the main focused on recycling in a bid to reduce the environmental impact of the plastic waste they produce.

‘But we have to accept that this isn’t enough – by recycling plastic, we are merely recycling the problem. It is therefore essential that retailers and packaging manufacturers work together to turn off the tap of throwaway packaging.’ comment: This whole problem is caused by ‘greenies’ themselves. We should never recycle plastic in the first place. We should never recycle any garbage. Recycling is extremely inefficient, expensive and labor intensive. How many times have you wasted time and hot water cleaning out a useless peanut butter jar. It is an exercise in futility.

We should use as much plastic as we need and then burn all garbage, including plastic, as fuel, and produce electricity with it. If you don’t know how that works then look it up. It is common in Europe and is done all over the world. Burning garbage is the most direct and efficient way to get rid of garbage. And by converting it to electricity we are producing the most valuable energy source of all. That’s a pretty good deal – worthless trash turns into priceless electricity.

But environmentalists oppose garbage-to-electricity since it is efficient and they do not control it. They want to control everything. That is why they now want to control the use of plastics in grocery stores, so that they look like heroes.

Daily Mail reports: (Iceland’s) move comes amid mounting concern about the impact of plastic packaging on the environment, and follows news that China will no longer take British waste plastic for recycling, meaning big business will have to clean up its own mess. comment: It is colossally inefficient and preposterous to ship thousands or millions of tons of worthless plastic all the way to China for recycling, but then again this is preposterous environmentalism that we are talking about. All of this plastic should be burned in the UK for electrical generation. Just think about all of the fuel and pollution that would be saved in not shipping all of that plastic to China.

Daily Mail reports: Greenpeace executive director John Sauven last night congratulated Iceland on ‘its bold pledge’, adding: ‘It’s now up to other retailers and food producers to respond to that challenge.

‘The tidal wave of plastic pollution will only start to recede when they turn off the tap. They know the scale of systemic change we need, and yet their responses have been timid and piecemeal. Iceland has offered a more radical solution that shows the way forward for the sector.’ comment: Notice the incendiary language – a ‘tidal wave of plastic pollution’ and ‘a more radical solution’.

“Radical” is never good for society. These ‘greenies’ are dangerous, extremist people. We should never listen to them. They are the ones ruining the environment with their policies, and ruining our economy.
