Since the 1960s the Democrats have increasingly become the anti-law-and-order party. In 1975 Democrats in the US Senate convened the Church Committee hearings under the gavel of senator Frank Church of Idaho. The goal was to expose allegedly abusive practices by our intelligence and law enforcement agencies like FBI, CIA, NSA and even the Internal Revenue Service.
This is how Wikipedia reports on the Church Committee:
By the early years of the 1970s, a series of troubling revelations had appeared in the press concerning intelligence activities. First came the revelations by Army intelligence officer Christopher Pyle in January 1970 of the U.S. Army’s spying on the civilian population and Senator Sam Ervin’s Senate investigations produced more revelations. Then on December 22, 1974, The New York Times published a lengthy article by Seymour Hersh detailing operations engaged in by the CIA over the years that had been dubbed the “family jewels”. Covert action programs involving assassination attempts against foreign leaders and covert attempts to subvert foreign governments were reported for the first time. In addition, the article discussed efforts by intelligence agencies to collect information on the political activities of US citizens.
In 1975 and 1976, the Church Committee published fourteen reports on various US intelligence agencies’ formation, operations, and the alleged abuses of law and of power that they had committed, with recommendations for reform, some of which were later put in place.
One of CIA’s targets was alleged to have been Fidel Castro but they never got him. Yet that would have been a great outcome to have killed Castro who along with his family and his ideology have ruthlessly brutalized the Cuban people since 1959.
The CIA did successfully depose communist leaders in Iran in 1953 and Chile in 1973. Those were both positive actions for global freedom but not to the increasingly radical Democrats who to this day apologize for murderous communism and want to emasculate our police and national security agencies.
Since the 1970s these agencies including FBI have been increasingly corrupted, infiltrated and co-opted by the same Deep State socialists who conducted the Church hearings. The results have been disastrous to law and order domestically and internationally.
With the release of the so-called “FISA memo” on February 2, 2018 it now appears that these permanent Deep State bureaucrats who control FBI and the Justice Department abused their power to directly seek to influence a presidential election and the Trump presidency. This is why Democrats were desperate to keep the memo secret.
Yet suddenly we are not supposed to question the FBI. Liberals so expected Hillary to win the 2016 election that they never felt that they would have any need to cover up for themselves but they now are literally fighting for their political lives, and some to keep themselves out of jail.
The media, of course, went bonkers over the “FISA memo” release. These are the same media who arrogantly published the Pentagon Papers and have done everything in their power to expose and undermine the police, CIA, FBI, NSA and military over the last 50 years. “It’s unwise to mess with the FBI” proclaims liberal commentator Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post in yet another fit of righteous indignation over the memo.
We know that Obama abused the IRS to target conservatives, and with no serious repercussions. We know that Bill Clinton used federal force to attack the Christians at Waco, Texas way back in 1993 but that Clinton attorney general Janet Reno conveniently took the heat, letting Bill Clinton skate free. And now that we have increasing evidence that the FBI sought to actively undermine the election and presidency of Donald Trump, suddenly the FBI itself is beyond reproach.
Never mind that former FBI director James Comey had directed the exoneration of Hillary Clinton over her emails. Comey even had begun drafting a letter to exonerate Hillary months before he even “interviewed” her about the issue. Comey then allowed the exoneration letter to call Clinton’s actions ‘extremely careless’ rather than ‘grossly negligent’, which would have been prosecutable.
This “interview” was conducted on the Saturday of the July 4 weekend in 2016; was not conducted under oath nor recorded (wink, wink); and came three days after Bill Clinton held the infamous “tarmac meeting” at the Phoenix airport with attorney general Loretta Lynch that was supposed to be secret.
That meeting could probably be proven to be one of the most brazenly illegal acts by a former president in US history if FBI or the Justice Department ever decided to seriously look into it. Let us hope that it does so under attorney general Jeff Sessions.
This could happen. Look at this from the Axios website:
Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah told reporters on Air Force One Monday that President Trump’s attorneys have already approved the idea of appointing a second special counsel to investigate the FBI and Justice Department’s actions during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to White House pool reports.
Shah also said that the White House will approach further memos, including the one created by Democrats, in the same way they handled the memo authored by Devin Nunes “Which is to allow for a legal review, national security review led by the White House Counsel’s Office, and then within five days the president will make a decision about declassifying it,” said Shah.
Great. Meanwhile former FBI director and now the Russia-collusion special counsel Robert Mueller is supposed to be above reproach, yet he has used extremely questionable legal tactics for many years. One of Mueller’s top agents Peter Strzok was a brazen Trump hater who wanted an “insurance policy” against Trump should he win. Strzok also helped to draft the Hillary exoneration deal.
Another of Mueller’s top lawyers named Andrew Weissman has been involved in some of the sleaziest episodes in American legal history, including the collapse of the Arthur Andersen accounting firm. Here is The Washington Times reporting on Weissman:
Defense attorneys say Mr. Weissmann bent or broke the rules. As proof, they point to appeals court decisions, exhibits and witness statements.
They say he intimidated witnesses by threatening indictments, created crimes that did not exist and, in one case, withheld evidence that could have aided the accused. At one hearing, an incredulous district court judge looked down at an Enron defendant and told him he was pleading guilty to a wire fraud crime that did not exist.
“Weissmann seemed more interested in obtaining convictions than in promoting justice,” said Tom Kirkendall, a Houston lawyer who represented an Enron executive.
… Mr. Weissmann’s cases against Andersen and Merrill Lynch lay in shambles just a few years later.
… The Supreme Court, in a 9-0 vote in 2005, overturned the Andersen conviction. A year later, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals erased all the fraud convictions against four Merrill Lynch managers. The jury had acquitted another defendant.
Last Summer Mueller/Weissman launched an early-morning no-knock raid on the home of Paul Manafort in an effort to intimidate Manafort and his wife who were in bed at the time, and to send a signal to others whom he may target. This was certainly Weissman’s handiwork. It fits his pattern.
If the CIA had done this to Soviet communist agents in Washington, DC in 1975 we would still be reading about it today as a landmark legal case.
This raid was a blatant act of Mueller intimidation to nail Manafort who has been indicted on a minor charge from 2006, a charge that incidentally has brought down through association one of Washington’s most powerful Democrats, a shady character named Tony Podesta.
But liberals’ sudden love for the FBI is not the only Democrat turnaround. No, Democrats’ also have zero criticism for the police when those cops totally overlooked two young muslim males waltzing into the crowd at the Boston Marathon with bombs in their suspiciously large backpacks.
Yes, friends, liberals now selectively love our police, FBI and even the CIA which was headed under Obama by John Brennan who admitted that he voted for the communist candidate Gus Hall in the 1976 US presidential election.
Democrats greatly fear the revelations in the “FISA memo” and that those revelations are going to undo the Mueller probe and expose corrupt goings-on at the FBI and Justice Department. This is why Democrats were in such a panic to prevent the memo from being released but now are saying that it is nothing to be concerned about since it has become public and must be vigorously countered.
Watch this story, friends. It is unfolding slowly but surely into perhaps the most significant government scandal ever.
