Trump’s Conservative First Year/ Uber, Lyft Increase Pollution

First, God bless the late Reverend Billy Graham, known as America’s Pastor. He will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington today.

Reverend Graham represented an era when American faith sustained us through myriad public crises including the threat of nuclear annihilation from the atheist communists.

Today we have students murdering their classmates as a result of the marginalization of Christian thought and prayer in our culture by Hollywood, the media, the arts, etc.

Let us pray for a strong revival of Billy Graham’s legacy. President Trump’s pro-Christian leadership is a good start.

Conservative Trump Successes in Year #1

Paul Bedard at The Washington Examiner reports:

With unprecedented speed, the Trump administration has already implemented nearly two-thirds of the 334 agenda items called for by the Heritage Foundation, a pace faster than former President Reagan… Thomas Binion, director of congressional and executive branch relations at Heritage, said that Trump has implemented 64 percent of the “unique policy recommendations” from the group.

At this stage of his presidency, Reagan had completed 49 percent of the Heritage policy recommendations.

“We’re blown away,” Binion said in an interview. Trump, he said, “is very active, very conservative, and very effective.”

What’s more, he said, Trump hasn’t just focused on one agenda area, but he and his team has pushed through administrative moves on foreign policy, deregulation, immigration, tax reform and health care, moves often ignored by the media.

His report card jibes with one from the West Wing which showed at the end of the year that the administration has scored 81 major achievements slashed at least 11 major legacy items of former President Barack Obama.

Together, the policy wins are adding up to a reelection agenda. “It is absolutely a winning agenda,” said Binion.

In Heritage’s review of Trump’s moves so far, they highlighted these actions:

• Leaving the Paris Climate Accord: In August 2017, Trump announced the U.S. was ending its funding and membership in the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
• Repealing Net Neutrality: In December 2017, Trump’s Federal Communications Commission chairman proposed ending the 2015 network neutrality rules.
• Reshaping National Monuments: Heritage’s recommendation to prohibit Land Acquisition (Cap and Reduce the Size of the Federal Estate) was adopted by Trump when he issued two executive orders effectively shrinking the size of national monuments in Utah.
• Reinstating the Mexico City Policy: This executive order prevents taxpayer money from funding international groups involved in abortion and ending funding to the United Nations Population fund. On Jan. 23, 2017, in his first pro-life action, Trump signed an executive order today reinstating the Mexico City Policy.
• Increasing Military Spending: Trump’s budget calls for a $54 billion increase in military spending to improve capacity, capability, and readiness of America’s armed forces.
• Reforming Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program (TANF): The Trump administration adopted and is in favor of strengthening existing work requirements in order to receive benefits.
• Allowing Development of Natural Resources: The Trump administration opened off-shore drilling and on federal lands. Executive Order 13783 directed Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to commence federal land coal leasing activities.
• Reforming Government Agencies: Trump tasked each of his Cabinet secretaries to prepare detailed plans on how they propose to reduce the scope and size of their respective departments while streamlining services and ensuring each department runs more efficiently and handles tax dollars appropriately.
• Withdrawing from UNESCO: In October 2017, Trump announced he was putting an end to U.S. membership in the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Great. President Trump is much more conservative than anyone could have believed, even more conservative than Ronald Reagan. Amazing.

This is going to help Trump to get re-elected in 2020 since millions of conservatives did not go out and vote for him in 2016 because they did not think he was conservative. They now will go out in 2020. This will counterbalance the extra “energized” Democrats who will go out and vote for their candidate.

‘Historically’ Black Colleges Failing

Look at this from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper:

In analyzing federal data for an in-depth examination of the nation’s historically black colleges and universities, the AJC found that the six-year graduation rates at 20 schools were 20 percent or lower in 2015.

This means that four of five beginning freshmen at those schools didn’t earn a degree within six years.

Coming Thursday: The AJC publishes Historically Black Colleges and Universities: A Threatened Heritage. The special three-part series will examine the problems many of the schools face, the unique role they play in students’ lives, and the perils that lie ahead.

OK, so blacks constantly blame white people, America, slavery, racism, discrimination etc. for their failures. But this shocking “20% or lower” statistic shows that blacks have only themselves to blame since these are the ‘historically’ black colleges that are supposed to get the best and most dedicated students, and that have no white influence to harm the blacks or make them feel bad and fail.

Blacks have a terrible record of academic achievement yet they are taking millions of slots at American universities and colleges that qualified white students and Asians are being denied on account of race. It is shameful but typical of modern-day academia.

Then the AJC wants to publish this “special” series about the ‘threatened heritage’ at the black colleges. No doubt it will point fingers at everyone but the blacks themselves just as every such media “special” does.

The Clintons are Fading Fast

The Daily Caller reports about the very liberal TV talk show called The View:

The women of “The View” did not go easy on Bill or Hillary Clinton during Monday’s broadcast.

The co-hosts were responding to a new profile on Monica Lewinsky, where the former White House intern described Bill Clinton’s sexual abuse of her when he was president. The View ladies took turns savaging the Clintons and their “gross abuse of power.”

Speaking about the affair, which eventually led to Clinton’s impeachment, Joy Behar said it was “an abuse of power. He was the president and she was an intern. She was 23 or 24?” Behar continued. “If you’re talking about powers, inequality in power, that’s the big biggie. An intern and a president.”

Guest co-host Meredith Vieira said Lewinsky was unfairly vilified after the affair but Clinton was allowed to go on to lead a successful life.

Behar made the point that Clinton no longer has a voice in the Me Too movement.

“It haunts him to this day,” she said of Clinton. “Have you seen him lately talking with this Me Too thing? He can’t stump for Democrats easily.” Whoopi Goldberg commented on the moment in the 2016 elections when three of Bill Clinton’s former accusers were brought to a presidential debate, saying it will “haunt” Clinton forever.

… The View ladies than turned their fire on Hillary for defending her husband and her “role” in the “bimbo eruptions” during his career.

… Speaking of the Clintons, Behar said “I think they’re a liability at the moment.” McCain then called the Clintons a “virus.”

Wow. Kaboom. We know that The View is the strident voice of anti-Trump feminist liberalism and that it therefore is very, very significant that it is turning against the Clintons.

Nikitas3.com has said many times that the Clintons are finished. This is more proof that that is so.

Leftist Radicals in ‘Antifa’ Exploiting Mental Illness

Look at this frightening news from The Daily Caller:

A Texas Antifa student group hosted a six month health program to “politicize” students with “mental illnesses,” according to a Thursday report.

The Revolutionary Student Front at the University of Texas at Austin hosted a “Revolutionary Mental Health Program” “to address the mental health needs of students in a way that would primarily serve to politicize and strengthen them, to become more committed to revolution and more capable of carrying it out,” reported Far Left Watch.

The UT Austin Antifa student group based its 2017 program on “Turn Illness Into A Weapon”, a book charting the neo-Marxist Socialist Patients Collective group’s actions in Germany, which placed the blame of mental illness on capitalist oppression.

The Revolutionary Student Front sought to create a health care system that not only treated students for their mental illnesses, but also mobilized them to fight capitalism.

This is frightening since we know that mental illness thrives on the socialist left but is vastly rarer among conservatives. So first the liberals cause mental illness and then they exploit it.

Just look at how tens of millions of young people all over the globe have been traumatized by this end-of-the-world commentary from the environmentalists. This is causing widespread psychosis that will stay with them as these kids get older. This is intentional, to create a movement for environmentalism composed of disturbed people.

Nikitas3.com remembers how this worked when I was in high school in the early 1970s at the beginning of the ‘green’ movement. I remember thinking to myself that I would never live past the year 2000 because the world was going to die from pollution.

Fortunately I stopped believing their ‘green’ propaganda in my second year college. I had joined a ‘green’ group and quit after a brief period. Ever since then life has been much, much better.

Uber, Lyft Causing Big Environmental Problems

Associated Press reports:

One promise of ride-hailing companies like Uber and Lyft was fewer cars clogging city streets. But studies suggest the opposite: that ride-hailing companies are pulling riders off buses, subways, bicycles and their own feet and putting them in cars instead.

And in what could be a new wrinkle, a service by Uber called Express Pool now is seen as directly competing with mass transit.

Uber and Lyft argue that in Boston, for instance, they complement public transit by connecting riders to hubs like Logan Airport and South Station. But they have not released their own specific data about rides, leaving studies up to outside researchers.

And the impact of all those cars is becoming clear, said Christo Wilson, a professor of computer science at Boston’s Northeastern University, who has looked at Uber’s practice of surge pricing during heavy volume.

“The emerging consensus is that ride-sharing (is) increasing congestion,” Wilson said.

One study included surveys of 944 ride-hailing users over four weeks in late 2017 in the Boston area. Nearly six in 10 said they would have used public transportation, walked, biked or skipped the trip if the ride-hailing apps weren’t available.

The report also found many riders aren’t using hailed rides to connect to a subway or bus line, but instead as a separate mode of transit, said Alison Felix, one of the report’s authors.

“Ride sharing is pulling from and not complementing public transportation,” she said.

That’s not quite what Uber founder Travis Kalanick suggested in 2015 when he said, “We envision a world where there’s no more traffic in Boston in five years.”

A study released in December found that large increases in the number of taxis and ride-sharing vehicles are contributing to slow traffic in Manhattan’s central business district. It recommended policies to prevent further increases in “the number of vacant vehicles occupied only by drivers waiting for their next trip request.”

This guy Kalanick is a rich California liberal ‘greenie’ environmentalist who had predicted that Uber was going to reduce pollution and traffic. Instead it is doing the opposite. This is how socialism always works. It always produces the opposite of what it predicts.

Recommendation from Nikitas3.com: Never believe anything that an environmentalist says.

Marijuana is Ruining the Environment

Environmentalists are strangely silent about the environmental destruction from the cultivation of marijuana since marijuana enriches liberals and so therefore is not criticized by others on the political left like environmentalists.

Look at this from attorney Alfred Regnery writing on Breitbart News:

(Marijuana) production may rake in billions of dollars, but at immense environmental cost. Research has documented that marijuana cultivation, legal and illegal, is polluting water, land and air at an alarming rate. Both legal and illegal growers use large amounts of pesticides, insecticides and other chemicals and fertilizers banned in the U.S., illegally divert streams, and discharge polluted waste into waterways, poisoning the water supply, fish and animals. Growers have also clear cut trees and excavated forests illegally creating vast wastelands. When they move on to another illegal site, the old one is often the equivalent of a toxic waste site, saturated with poisons and fertilizers.

Despite evidence of significant criminal toxic waste discharge and other environmental crimes, not surprisingly the Obama Justice Department largely ignored the problem. In the liberal mindset, marijuana, unlike coal, oil and gas, is sacred stuff and considered outside the reach of the law. And there is little noise from the environmental movement which, if oil and gas or timber were the product, would be all over the issue like a wet blanket. But not marijuana.

A good example of the problems is Calaveras County made famous by Mark Twain, in the foothills of California’s Sierra Mountains. About the size of Rhode Island, it has a population of some 44,000 people. The County Board recently voted to ban commercial marijuana production – a prerogative under California’s law legalizing it. Their sheriff estimates there are at least 1200 illegal farms scattered through the mountainous terrain, all discharging large quantities of chemical waste into the water supply (nearly 10% of California’s water originates in little Calaveras County) and fouling the surrounding land with illegal herbicides, insecticides and rodenticides. Cleaning up those sites – just in Calaveras County — will cost, according to U.S. Forest Service estimates, at least $240 million; perhaps much more. Expand Calaveras’s problems across 15 other Northern California counties and the problem becomes almost unimaginable.

Environmental groups such as the Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council are nowhere to be found. Ironically it was these very mountains where Sierra Club founder John Muir hiked and studied for decades. I spoke with Dennis Mills, a member of the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors, who told me he has begged local and national environmentalist groups to get involved, but his pleas are always met, he said, with a yawn. Mills documented the abuses in a study Cultivating Disaster conducted by The Communications Institute.

So where is the federal government? Illegal and many legal marijuana farmers are likely in flagrant violation of numerous federal environmental criminal laws ranging from pollution crimes, wildlife and animal welfare crimes, and could be subject to large fines and restitution as well as lengthy prison sentences.

Here we go again. You should always notice that environmentalists are only selectively outraged about pollution. In other words, “the environment” is merely a political tool for them to criticize their adversaries like the oil companies and the corporations but not their friends who grow marijuana.

We also know that indoor marijuana cultivation is using huge amounts of electricity for the “grow lights” with no complaint from the environmentalists. One study said that 3% of California’s electricity goes to marijuana cultivation.

It gets worse. Look at this from The Telegraph in Britain. This is increasingly true in the US:

Nearly all (marijuana) on Britain’s streets is now super-strength … that could be fuelling the rise in mental health problems, scientists have warned.

Researchers at King’s College London tested almost 1,000 police seizures from Kent, Derbyshire, Merseyside, Sussex and the capital in 2016 and found 94 per cent were of a dangerously high potency.
In 2005 just 51 per cent of cannabis sold on the street was sinsemilla, also known as skunk.

Dr Marta Di Forti, Medical Research Council Clinician Scientist at King’s College warned that the powerful drug placed Britain’s 2.1 million cannabis users at risk of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, psychosis, delusions and hallucinations.

‘The increase of high-potency cannabis on the streets poses a significant hazard to users’ mental health, and reduces their ability to choose more benign types,’ she said.

“It is of concern that 94 per cent of seized cannabis is now of skunk type as this potentially could increase the number of people using it and consequently the number of people experiencing harm.

“Regular users of high-potency cannabis carry the highest risk for psychotic disorders, compared to those who have never used cannabis.”

Gee, but no outcry from the ultra-liberal US and British medical establishments!

Illegal Immigrant Crackdown is Working

PJ Media reports:

As arrests of illegal immigrants increase due to actions taken by President Donald Trump to enforce laws greatly ignored by Barack Obama, civil rights activists in Florida are issuing travel warnings and tips on how to avoid law enforcement.

A Florida immigration coalition composed of activist groups, such as the Council of American-Islamic Relations of Florida, the Women’s March, and the Florida Immigrant Coalition, are urging anyone who’s in the country illegally to “reconsider visiting Florida and especially recommended to avoid high-risk areas, including ports, airports, and Greyhound stations,” as reported by the Miami New Times.

Activists have staged events across the state to get out the word to illegal immigrants who are thinking about vacationing in Florida during Spring Break. They’re also posting information on which areas to avoid as cooperation has stepped up between Immigration and Customs Enforcement and 17 sheriffs across the state, a decision that has been challenged by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Southern Poverty Law Center.

So the message is clear – the states that crack down on illegal immigration will have fewer illegal immigrants. Good. The crackdown is working. These states are safer.

Interestingly the states that are more likely to crack down are the conservative states to where tens of millions of American have been migrating over the last few decades.
