Trump Should Fire Mueller/ Baby Boomers ‘Protected’ by Their Parents

(This is a multi-part commentary covering a variety of issues.)

President Trump should fire this out-of-control special counsel Robert Mueller. We all know that Mueller is a Deep State Trump-hater who is on a fishing expedition trying to find anything to pin on the president. We all know that this Russia-collusion story was made up only after Trump won. We all know that Mueller has nothing on Trump.

Talking heads on the TV and internet are saying that if Trump fires Mueller that it will be the end of the Trump presidency, that it will be Watergate all over again.

Baloney. What they really fear is that Trump will fire Mueller and that after a few days that nobody will care except the political elites in Washington and the biased media.

President Trump got to where he is by defying the elites. So he should defy them once more and fire Mueller now. Get it over with. Get it done! Go Trump!

Baby-Boomers Protected by their Parents

We all know that parents throughout history have sought to protect their children from the vicissitudes of life. And that is what ‘our’ parents – the parents of the Baby Boomers – did for us kids.

I, Nikitas, am a Baby Boomer. I was born in 1953. I grew up in liberal New England. Some of the kids I grew up with became very wild. They considered the 1960s and early 1970s to be a big party for all to attend and have total fun. They did not have a care in the world.

They went to college – paid for by their parents – and turned it into a 4-year drug and drunk-fest. They had no idea how good they had it and they often blew it.

Nothing seemed out of bounds. I remember a girl from my town going to Morocco in 1969 and getting busted for trafficking hashish. Her wealthy lawyer papa went over there with a bagful of money and retrieved her.

Drugs were everywhere, mostly marijuana but then cocaine, hashish, LSD, mushrooms, opium, peyote. And on and on.

We listened to demonic rock music and its message of drugs and debauchery and rebellion. Hundreds of thousands attended the disgusting Woodstock rock music festival. They actually believed that they were really special people, that there never had been anyone like the Woodstock Generation.

We were told by ‘hippie’ leaders like Abbie Hoffman to hate our parents, our corporations, our churches, our military, our country and our capitalist economic system.

Ultimately Hoffman proved what we all know about these people – that he hated himself. He committed suicide in 1989.

We Boomers lived in a hermetic world that we did not even understand. We had no idea how good we had it.

We were clueless about the recent past. We had no idea how much our parents were “protecting” us, these wonderful parents who had suffered through 10 years of economic depression in the 1930s and 4 years of World War II whose outcome nobody could predict.

In short, our parents had been psychologically beaten down and wounded and they wanted us to not know about it. And God bless them for that.

Imagine their chagrin when their children went off the deep end, acting like fools and that nothing was fun enough or extreme enough for them.

They must have thought, “After the hell that we went through, these kids just don’t know…”

These are my parents, Callie and Spylios. Callie (1923-2008) was a fantastic Mom and Spylios (1921-1998) was a dedicated physician Father, the kind you could always trust for common sense and a kind word. I remember that he charged $7 for an office visit when I was a kid and he made house calls for decades. I miss them so much…

They truly came out of the “old school”… including the depression and World War II. They knew what uncertainty and fear was. We, their children, did not.

They played strictly by the rules and worked hard. They never did anything wrong. And when they saw their wayward children partaking of the craziness of the 1960s, they certainly felt powerless. I cannot imagine what that was like.

Today I do. I look back on those days with regret. While I did my small share of non-conforming (I was basically pretty nerdy and fairly well-behaved) millions of kids descended into real depravity and bad behavior. Their parents certainly suffered enormously.

Some kids even died. Millions surely suffered from all of the drugs. Yet still our parents protected us from the bad and frightening times that they had endured.

Just think … 440,000 men went off to World War II and never came back. They would always be remembered as “Uncle John” who died, with only a sepia photograph of a young guy in a military uniform to remember him.

I grew up in prosperous Massachusetts in the 1960s. There were probably 40 kids on my street. Every family had two, three, four kids. One had seven. It was common.

We thought nothing of it. We Baby Boomers not only did not know about the hard times that had preceded us, but we thought that peace and prosperity and families with six kids were perfectly normal. Yet that has been the exception throughout history, not the norm.

In those days Father went out to work and Mom stayed home and everything was fine. Fantastic. And we thought nothing of it.

When I was in kindergarten I walked to school alone. Over two miles. And never thought anything about it…

Today we are paying a steep price for not knowing how good we had it, and for letting much of it slip away.

Democrats Have No Clue about 2nd Amendment

Fox News reports:

A New York Democratic congressman is being accused of promoting violence against President Trump after suggesting during a town hall that citizens may have to take up arms against the president if he doesn’t follow the law.

“I mean, this is where the Second Amendment comes in quite frankly, because you know, what if the president was to ignore the courts? What would you do? What would we do?” Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., said during a March 12 Q&A session with constituents in Huntington, on Long Island.

“It’s really a matter of putting public pressure on the president,” he said.
The exchange was captured on a Facebook Live stream.

After Suozzi referenced the Second Amendment, a constituent asked him to explain the amendment.

“The Second Amendment is the right to bear arms,” the Democrat said. “That’s why we have it.”

Republicans are accusing Suozzi of promoting violence.

This is how Democrats respond to losing an election. Just because they don’t like what president Trump is doing they already want to take up arms against him after just 14 months in office.

This is shocking and appalling. But then again, we know that Democrats and other people on the political left embrace violence, like those who have attacked and even killed Trump supporters. This shows who the really violent Americans are…

The idea of using firearms against the government is intended for when the government comes after the citizens with guns. Liberals have completely twisted this around. They are the dangerous ones, not those of us who support the right to bear arms… and who know what it means.

Washington Feeling Sting of Trump Economy

The Washington, DC economy is actually softening as the rest of America is strengthening. This is great news. This is how it is supposed to be after decades the other way around. reports:

The Washington area’s job market appears to be pumping its brakes, newly released employment numbers suggest, as last year’s federal budget uncertainty, two brief government shutdowns and turmoil within some agencies made life difficult for federal contractors.

The region added 43,800 jobs during the one-year period that ended in January, reflecting a continuation of the stagnant local job growth that seemed to define the previous year. The total was a far cry from 2016, a boom year for the D.C. economy, when the metropolitan area… added more than 60,000 jobs…

Unemployment rates in Virginia, Maryland and the District were largely unchanged despite the sluggish growth. The District shaved off one-tenth of a percentage point to settle at 5.8 percent, while Maryland and Virginia were unchanged at 4.1 percent and 3.6 percent, respectively. The size of the labor force grew modestly in all three jurisdictions, allaying some economists’ fears that workers are leaving the region.

… Employment growth in the Washington region lagged behind that of the nation as a whole. The D.C. area’s employment base grew by 1.3 percent for the year, compared with 1.7 percent nationally.

Good. We know that president Trump is striking fear into the hearts of the Washington elites and bureaucrats by not actively allowing the government to grow, but by allowing it to shrink.

Thousands of government workers are retiring early to escape the Trump Effect. More are sure to follow. When they are not replaced, it will be called “shrinking the federal workforce by attrition”. It is a great idea.

There are currently about 2.2 million federal employees, and most of them are scattered around the country outside Washington (in Social Security offices, FBI, Border Patrol, national parks, etc.). An estimated 300,000 are in Washington and they are living like kings. Shockingly reports:

The five richest counties in the United States when measured by median household income are all suburbs of Washington, D.C., according to the American Community Survey data released today by the Census Bureau.

According to the American Community Survey’s new five-year estimates (2012-2016), the five richest counties in the country are: Loudoun County, Va., where the median household income was $125,672; Falls Church City, Va., where it was $115,244; Fairfax County, Va., where it was $114,329; Howard County, Md., where it was $113,800; and Arlington County, Va., where it was $108,706.

And who lives in these suburbs? Federal workers do. These federal workers need to have their ears pinned back. They are stealing us blind and living like kings while many parts of America suffer. It needs to go the other way around.

Another Lefty Goes Down

The Oregonian newspaper in the left-wing city of Portland, Oregon reports about a protest leader:

Portland protest leader Micah Rhodes gave up his legal fight Tuesday by pleading guilty to a second round of sexual abuse charges against him, this time for having sexual contact multiple times with a 17-year-old boy.

The victim couldn’t consent to the contact because he was a minor. Rhodes — then 20 or 21 — was more than three years older than the teenager at the time of the 2014 or 2015 encounters. He met the boy on a gay dating app.

Rhodes, now 24, was a leader of the protest group Portland’s Resistance, which rose to prominence after Donald Trump won the presidential election in November 2016 and the group helped organize day after day of marches and rallies.

But Rhodes had long been a part of Portland’s activist scene before that and a familiar face at Portland City Council meetings. Among his notable achievements was helping stage a camp-out in front of then-Mayor Charlie Hales’ home in 2016.

… The Oregon Youth Authority began supervising Rhodes when he was 14, for sexual abuse and sodomy, authorities said. According to court records, Rhodes was 13 or 14 years old in 2007 when he sexually abused a boy who was 9 or 10 years old.

Washington County Deputy District Attorney Andy Pulver argued in court papers that Rhodes has a “sexual predisposition toward minor children.”

Rhodes had been required to register as a sex offender at the time he was charged in the Multnomah and Washington county cases.

Bye-bye, Rhodes… He is just one of a massive mob of thugs and abusers on the political left.

Double Standard on Florida Tragedies

Look at this from Fox News about the Florida bridge collapse at Florida International College:

As reports emerged about an engineer’s warning of cracks days before Thursday’s calamitous collapse of a pedestrian bridge in Florida, a U.S. senator wants to find out exactly who was behind the construction that may have led to the structure’s fatal failure.

Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, is “demanding” documents related to oversight of the construction of the bridge at Florida International University in Miami, according to a statement from his office.

“There should have been adequate and appropriate oversight on the ground,” Nelson writes in a letter to Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao. “If anyone dropped the ball and it contributed to this tragedy, then they should be held accountable.

“The fact that there were multiple agencies and companies involved, we’re going to need a clear understanding of who had what role in this horrible tragedy.”

Florida’s Department of Transportation said Friday that an engineer left a voicemail just two days before the bridge failure, notifying the department of cracking in the concrete.

OK, folks, here is Democrat US senator Bill Nelson whining about the Florida bridge collapse and how we need a thorough investigation, but he was quiet about the massive government incompetence in the Parkland school murders in his rush to ‘blame the gun’.

Why the double standard?

Answer: Because he is a Democrat…
