Tough Cop Gets Serious About School Safety

While the Broward County, Florida sheriff Scott Israel was derelict in his duties to protect the school in Parkland another Florida sheriff is demonstrating a tough and wise approach. Volusia County sheriff Mike Chitwood is showing zero tolerance for any types of threats against the schools. Fox News reports:

A 14-year-old middle school student in Volusia County, Fla. was arrested March 1 after he reportedly said he was going to be the next school shooter. The same day, in the same county, a 14-year-old female high school student was arrested for tapping a school employee on the shoulder and saying “bang, bang.”

Two other Volusia County teen students were also arrested that day for joking in school that they had a weapon.

As education and law enforcement officials across the country try to figure out how to deal with school threats – particularly after the fatal shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, where 17 people were killed – this county in Central Florida is taking a zero-tolerance approach to keep its schools safe.

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood makes no excuses for his tough and unforgiving stance on students who make threats or joke about school shootings. They will be arrested and their parents will pay for investigative and court costs.

… The sheriff has arrested nearly 30 students since the Parkland shooting. The youngest defendant is 11 years old.

This is exactly what we need to turn the tide on school violence. Once these policies kick in and are understood as serious then the situation will change, hopefully nationwide.

It has been 19 years since the Columbine high school massacre in Colorado yet nothing seems to have changed. In the Columbine case a local detective had even gone so far as to prepare an affidavit to search the home of one of the killers after the killer had made death threats against a fellow student. But the affidavit was never filed. If it had been filed the murders would have been prevented.

The muslim US Army major who murdered 13 US military personnel at Fort Hood, Texas in 2009 was well-known as an islamic radical and a potential killer, but Army officials did nothing about him for fear of offending his muslim sensibilities.

The lunatic who killed all of those people in the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado in 2012 was known as a nut to many acquaintances. None of them acted.

Dozens, maybe hundreds, of people from teachers to students to school administrators to law enforcement officials knew that the Florida school murderer was crazy and dangerous. There were many occasions on which he should have been scrutinized but he never was. We saw the horrible result.

We don’t need new gun laws; we need existing laws to be enforced. But first and foremost we need vigilance. Our teachers, administrators, fellow students, parents, acquaintances and police must stop turning a blind eye to students and other people who are making threats or acting insane like the killer at Virginia Tech.

We need more sheriff Chitwoods to crack down hard at the very first sign of trouble like threats in public statements or on the internet, aggressive behavior, etc. This will end or significantly reduce school violence.

The Obama administration has contributed strongly to the violence. It started something called the Promise Program that encouraged schools NOT to report or prosecute bad behavior by “minority” students so as not to further stigmatize minorities. This included the Florida killer, who has an hispanic surname.

We have seen the tragic results of this laxity. It is time to end it once and for all.

GOP Wins Yet Another ‘Special’ US House Election

The Republican candidate recently won a “special” US House election in Arizona. Debbie Lesko won by 5 percentage points in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. “Debbie will do a Great Job!” the president tweeted.

So let’s look at the record so far. Republicans have won 5 out of 6 ‘special’ US House elections since president Trump took office, while the sixth election in southwestern Pennsylvania was won by a tiny margin by an ex-Marine Democrat, a former federal prosecutor who talked and acted like a tough-on-crime Trump-supporting Republican.

Meanwhile president Trump’s job approval rating is an astounding 50% in the most reliable poll of the last decade, the Rasmussen poll. This comes despite the most intense media assault on any political figure in US history.

Don’t be fooled by the media prediction of a “blue wave” in the coming November mid-term elections. These are the same people who predicted that Hillary Clinton would win in a landslide. Instead Trump won in a landslide with 57% of the electoral votes to Hillary’s 43%.

Troubles Grow Significantly for Deep Stater Andrew McCabe

The prosecution in the Trump-Russia case is starting to backfire big time. We are seeing more and more Deep Staters going down, like former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe. Look at this from investigative reporter Sara Carter:

… McCabe is now facing possible criminal charges for lying under oath about leaks he made to The Wall Street Journal in 2016, in an effort to salvage his reputation and give his account to journalists who were questioning whether he gave a “stand-down” order to FBI agents investigating the Clinton Foundation.

Multiple former FBI officials, along with a Congressional official, say that while there may have been internal squabbling over the FBI’s investigation into the Clinton Foundation at the time, there was allegedly another “stand-down” order by McCabe regarding the opening of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of her private email for official government business.

McCabe’s stand-down order regarding Clinton’s private email use happened after The New York Times first reported Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email Account at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules in March 2015 and before the official investigation was requested by the Justice Department toward the end of July 2015.

After The New York Times publication, the FBI Washington Field Office began investigating Clinton’s use of private emails and whether she was using her personal email account to transmit classified information. According to sources, McCabe was overseas when he became aware of the investigation and sent electronic communications voicing his displeasure with the agents.

“McCabe tried to steer people off the private email investigation and that appears to be obstruction and should be investigated,” said one former FBI official with knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the investigation. “Now if the information on the ‘stand-down’ order is obtained by the IG that could bring a whole lot of other troubles to McCabe.”

This is great news. The Deep State, which was certain that it was going to bring down Trump in his first few months in office, now finds itself in the crosshairs. And this story is just emerging; there is much more to come as covered by Sara Carter who is doing vastly more important and complicated work to uncover inbred Washington corruption than Woodward & Bernstein ever did in the shallow Watergate affair.

If you want to follow this issue in detail you should listen to Sean Hannity on the radio or watch him on Fox News. He is blowing these cases wide open with reams of information and many interviews with top legal scholars and investigators.

Big Trouble for German Solar Energy

Germany’s solar energy industry is withering after the government dramatically cut its subsidies. Pierre Gosselin reports at a website called No Tricks Zone:

In 2012 over 7000 megawatts of new solar capacity were added. But in 2012 the boom ended abruptly as new laws on feed-in rates were enacted in order to keep the solar energy supply from going out of control. In 2017, only 600 megawatts of new capacity were expected to be added. That’s a 90% drop!

… In 2007 solar operators in Germany were guaranteed feed-in tariffs of 49.2 euro-cents per KWh (kilowatt hour); today they are just 12.7 euro-cents per KWh.

… In December 2017, for example, Germany experienced a total of just ten hours of sunshine in the whole month. So while theoretically its installed solar capacity – a huge 40 gigawatts – is almost enough to power half the country at lunchtime on a sunny day, most of the time it is next to useless.

Germany’s great transition from fossil fuel power to renewables – its Energiewende – will cost the economy an estimated 520 billion Euros ($635 billion) by 2020. This is roughly equal to 25,000 Euros ($30,500) per family of four.

Wow… 10 hours of sunshine – 10 hours of solar energy – in a whole month. Shocking.

That 49.2 euro-cents tariff is why Germany has sky-high electric rates. This all comes as Germany is shutting down its nuclear power plants like the Euro fools that they are.

US solar power is heavily subsidized in four separate ways:

*Taxpayers subsidize up to 60% of the cost of home solar panels right up front.
*Utilities often subsidize solar panels outright. This subsidy is then paid for by utility customers in higher power rates.
*Utilities are forced under law to buy excess power back from solar panel owners at artificially high rates. This pushes up electricity costs for all consumers while rewarding solar panel owners.
*Indirectly the ‘green’ media give endless amounts of free, fawning coverage to solar energy. This is perhaps the biggest “subsidy” of all.

Solar panel owners insistently gloat about how much money they are saving on their power costs, yet their costs are simply being transferred to taxpayers and to other electricity consumers. It is classic socialism.
