Trump Succeeds Wildly as John McCain Fades Away

Senator John McCain ran for president twice and lost twice. He lost in the primaries to George W. Bush in 2000 and then lost the general election to Obama in 2008 by a whopping 7 points.

McCain’s whole life revolved around his desire to be elected president and thus he is bitter. From his wartime imprisonment in North Vietnam to his career in the US Senate, John McCain thought only about one thing – the White House.

He even concocted a fable about his time in North Vietnam. He apparently was offered early release since his father was a high-ranking US military official but he has suggested that he opted to stay behind with his fellow prisoners out of a sense of military honor.

This is false. The US Military Code does not allow for special treatment for prisoners. Here is Article III:

If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and to aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

Thus if McCain had taken early release, particularly before others who were captured before him, he could have been court martialed. So don’t let McCain fool you about his altruism. It is just another charade. McCain’s relentless exploitation of his military service for political expediency has been a great travesty.

Meanwhile Donald Trump is showing us how a real president acts. Trump is getting things done that nobody believed possible, and he may even win the Nobel Prize. Thus McCain is maniacally envious of that success.

As McCain lies on his deathbed in Arizona in the final act of his tawdry and conniving life he is lashing out in anger at anyone and everyone who crossed him in his failure to become president.

He has said that he would not have picked Sarah Palin as his running mate in 2008, yet she energized his hobbling, decrepit campaign. She was vastly more exciting and glamorous than he was.

This disrespect of governor Palin is another expression of McCain’s bottomless narcissism. In short, he is backhandedly blaming her for his disastrous loss, not himself. What a creep.

He has said that president Trump is not welcome at his funeral, yet why would Trump show up at McCain’s funeral anyway? McCain is just a US senator who obviously thinks that he was president once and deserves a state funeral. President Trump is busy. He has better things to do. He is probably happy that he is not going to McCain’s funeral.

McCain has suggested a ‘no’ vote on president Trump’s pick to head the CIA, Gina Haspel, in another act of obstruction to the Trump agenda. He cast the deciding vote to not repeal significant parts of Obamacare.

McCain is one of the most unprincipled members of the US Senate in the last century. He repeatedly has said and done what he feels will gain him public favor. He blows with the political winds and seems to have no core principles, although he has a special love for war mongering, including for the failed Iraq war which was perhaps the greatest foreign policy blunder in US history.

McCain has been arrogant. He has been disdainful of Palin voters and Trump voters, for instance for having the audacity to think that federal spending should be restrained or that the Mexican border should be sealed to illegal immigration.

Perhaps McCain’s worst act came when he saw the fake Russian “dossier” that alleged all sorts of farcical things about president Trump. Rather than look skeptically at the charges in a mature manner McCain immediately gave the dossier to FBI director James Comey for investigation.

McCain writes in his book: “I agreed to receive a copy of what is now referred to as ‘the dossier’. I reviewed its contents. The allegations were disturbing, but I had no idea which if any were true. I could not independently verify any of it, and so I did what any American who cares about our nation’s security should have done.”

So let’s get this straight – one of the most influential US senators could not debunk a patently absurd story about Donald Trump hiring Russian prostitutes to urinate on a hotel bed in Moscow?

What a fraudster. McCain is worse than we think. This is the same John McCain who once called Tea Partiers “hobbits”. What a loser.

Take the tax reform/tax cut bill passed in December 2017. Rather than stay in Washington and vote for the bill McCain went back to Arizona, claiming that he was sick. His vote easily could have been the crucial vote to pass the bill but still he left Washington even though his vote could have been done quickly in just a few hours.

Thus after all of his alleged military “heroism” McCain did not have the “heroism” to stay and insure passage of a critical vote. He didn’t care a whit about improving the economy for all Americans. The opportunistic McCain was too busy thinking about himself and trying to bring down a Trump policy since he hates Trump. This is how so many politicians work and this is why so many of them are despised.

Meanwhile, as McCain flails around in his death throes president Trump is soaring in his reputation. Just recently he had three hostages sprung from North Korea; scheduled North Korea de-nuclearization talks that nobody – including McCain – thought possible just months ago; oversaw the capture of five top ISIS leaders (capturing them is more valuable psychologically and strategically than killing them); while the economy is humming directly as a result of Trump’s policies.

At the same time John McCain has done nothing lately besides make a fool of himself. No, he has lain in his sick bed in Arizona looking for sympathy while admitting that he will never return to Washington.

Great. And thus here is a fond farewell to John McCain from

Good riddance, senator. I won’t be coming to your funeral either.

Update: McCain is harming president Trump and America in yet another way. By not resigning from the US Senate, he is taking away a potential Republican vote that might well be cast by whomever would be appointed to replace him by Arizona’s Republican governor.
