Fox News reports:
Overall enrollment in the country’s food stamp program has dropped to its lowest level in more than eight years as the economy continues to improve and the Trump administration attempts to tackle fraud in the program.
According to the latest statistics from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which administers the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (food stamps), enrollment in the program dropped in March to 40,083,954. The last time food stamp participation dipped this low was in February 2010, when 39,588,993 people were enrolled in the program.
This is good news. This is why president Trump was elected. This is why conservatism and capitalism make sense. Because under conservative capitalism citizens earn their own way; they don’t need food stamps.
CNS News reported on October 7, 2014 during the Obama years:
The number of Americans on food stamps has topped 46,000,000 for 35 straight months, according to date from the Department of Agriculture (USDA).
From September 2011 through July 2014, the latest month for which data is available, the number of persons participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has exceeded 46 million. As of July 2014, there were 46,486,434 beneficiaries of the SNAP program.
If you ask 500 people whether they think that it is better to get $10,000 in benefits from the government or to earn $10,000 working virtually all of them would say that earning is better. Earning has a positive effect on the economy and on the individual.
Laziness is a disease and an addiction. It destroys people. Black America has been destroyed to a significant degree by sloth and dependency. All people, and particularly poor people, need to be productive. It gives a sense of self-worth that is necessary if a person is going to be a good citizen and/or improve his/her status in life.
For instance, I, Nikitas, am retired but I do not sit around. I not only spend up to 30 hours a week writing for this website but I also help out friends who need it and I take care of my Orthodox Christian church property year round – I clean and prepare the church and serve in the altar every Sunday; I shovel the church walks in Winter; pick up the church yard leaves in the Autumn; clean up the property in the Spring.
I help out at monthly fundraisers in the warm months and mow the huge church lawn from May until October. This requires almost three hours at a pop.
In 2012, when I first joined the church, I scraped and painted the whole front of the parish house by myself. It was a huge effort. The house had fallen into disrepair under a previous owner, and the new paint job was immediately welcomed by thousands of people who passed by every day. They were thrilled to see the grimy old house improved.
I rebuilt the front porch of the parish house for $80 in new wood that the church was going to spend $5,000 to replace. I also do countless other small chores that nobody else is doing in order to keep the church running well.
When I look at the property it is beautiful to me and to those who drive by every day on the busy road. Our well-kept church improves the neighborhood greatly. This gives me a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
Fox News reports:
The USDA official noted that much like jobless numbers, the number of enrollees in (food stamps) tends to fluctuate month by month. But the official added that the agency expects about 8.8 million to leave the program in the next 10 years.
Wonderful. All it takes is a strong economy, which Obama thwarted with his policies and Trump is improving every day. The stock market dropped 5.27% (313 points) the day after Obama was elected, but went up 1% the day after Trump won and has skyrocketed ever since. That is no coincidence. Fox News reports:
SNAP, which was formerly known as the Food Stamps Program … is meant to help people buy nutritional items like breads, vegetables, dairy products and meats, while barring them from purchasing alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and household supplies and paper products among other items.
While overall food stamp enrollment has been on a steady decline since 2013, some observers credit President Trump’s emphasis on getting more Americans back to work and his administration’s crackdown on fraud in the SNAP program as the reason why the decline has sped up.
We need more of a crackdown. I have personally witnessed many people with their food stamps buying soda, bottled water, sugary snacks, sweet desserts and other non-nutritional foods.
Fox news reports:
Since Trump took office, more than 2.2 million have discontinued their participation in the SNAP program in large part due to his administration’s moves to reform SNAP.
This is 2.2 million in just the last 17 months. Meanwhile Trump is being savaged for wanting to cut these programs, but if they are being replaced by work, or fraudsters are being tossed off the rolls, then they can certainly be cut.
I also have worked occasionally at a food pantry. And you can rest assured that the people lining up for food do not look desperate and unhappy like genuinely poor people do. Many of them look well fed and perfectly content. Many are fat and picky. One of them, who was fat and looking for desserts, was told that was we had run out, and that you had to come early to get desserts. She rolled her eyes. Some of them drive new or late-model cars while I drive an old car since I cannot afford anything better.
Fox News reports:
The House Agriculture Committee has voted along party lines to approve new work requirements for food stamps — a move fiercely opposed by Democrats and that could spell trouble for the farm bill working its way through Congress.
The GOP-backed legislation would tighten already existing work requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), while expanding funding for state training programs.
Currently, those 18-59 years old are required to enroll for work or take a job if offered. Rules are stricter for able-bodied adults without dependents between 18 and 49, who are subjected to a three-month limit of benefits unless they work for 80 hours a month or participate in work training.
Good. This needs to happen throughout the government. The more money we give away, the more that people will take it. We need to close the money spigot and open the spigot on job creation.
Now look at this from Fox Business to show how president Trump is thinking in totally new ways:
The Trump administration has a proposal to replace some of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program’s (food stamp) … benefits with boxes of … food.
The plan, outlined in the administration’s budget blueprint for fiscal year 2019, is being dubbed “America’s Harvest Box” by the Department of Agriculture. It would provide 16.4 million households … with boxes of non-perishable food items grown by U.S. farmers in place of some of their SNAP aid. The government’s proposed program would apply to households that receive more than $90 in food stamp benefits.
Items that could be included in a government-issued food box are grains, peanut butter, canned meat, canned fruits and vegetables, juice and other shelf-stable products, according to the Department of Agriculture. The government would decide what to include based on nutrition guidelines utilized for other, existing programs, such as the Emergency Food Assistance Program, and the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations.
America’s Harvest Box could save the country $129.2 billion over the course of a decade, the government said, since it can leverage its buying power to procure better deals with sellers. It also falls in line with the president’s promise to promote a “Buy American, Hire American” agenda.
This is very smart. This is how Trump thinks in original ways. Rather than simply giving poor people a credit card to buy food at retail prices at grocery stores, this plan would buy the same food wholesale, and in bulk purchases, and save huge amounts of money right off the top.
Another Deep Stater May be Going Down
Look at this from Fox News to show how the Deep State War on Trump is backfiring big time:
Peter Strzok, the FBI agent under fire over a series of anti-Trump text messages, was “escorted” from the FBI building, his lawyer confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday.
Strzok’s lawyer, Aitan Goelman, argued that even though his client has “played by the rules,” he has been targeted by “unfounded personal attacks, political games and inappropriate information leaks.”
“All of this seriously calls into question the impartiality of the disciplinary process, which now appears tainted by political influence,” a statement from Goelman said.
He said that Strzok “has complied with every FBI procedure, including being escorted from the building as part of the ongoing internal proceedings.” The attorney did not say exactly when Strzok was escorted out.
… News of Strzok’s removal came after Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed during a Congressional hearing earlier Tuesday that his office was looking into whether Strzok’s anti-Trump bias played a role in the launch of the bureau’s Russia probe.
Horowitz’s report on the Clinton email investigation, which was released last week, revealed a text sent by Strzok to his then-colleague and lover Lisa Page.
The IG report said Page texted Strzok in August 2016, prior to then-candidate Donald Trump’s election night win, saying “[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!”
“No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it,” Strzok responded.
This is great news. The FBI is being exposed as a corrupt Deep State agency. It should be totally reformed with all of its Swamp Dweller lackeys fired (excluding most of the agents in the field who are good people). Go Trump!
Mueller Probe is Failing; Media Won’t Report It
Look at this from The Gateway Pundit if you want to know what a fraud the Mueller investigation is. The Fake News Media will never report on this in order to protect Mueller:
The attorneys representing Concord Management, one of the Russian Companies that the corrupt Mueller team accused of impacting the 2016 Presidential election, crushed the “Unlawfully Appointed Special Counsel” in court last week again.
They continue to make a laughing stock out of the Mueller team of misfit and conflicted attorneys.
Mueller’s team of ignorant and misguided attorneys really have no chance. They never expected anyone to take them to court on their fake Russian indictments and are certainly no match for the attorneys representing Concord Management.
We first reported that Concord Management’s lawyer’s previously said Mueller indicted “the proverbial ham sandwich.” The reason the Concord Management attorneys called the case a ‘proverbial ham sandwich’ was because one of the entities indicted by the Mueller team, Concord Catering, was not in existence at the time the crimes were alleged to have taken place.
Next we reported on May 18th that the Mueller case against the Russians was falling apart. Lawyers defending the Russian company Concord Management indicted by the corrupt Mueller team again called out Mueller’s liberal hacks and labeled their allegations as “made up” nonsense. Concord Management’s lawyers revealed that Mueller’s team ignored over 70 discovery requests they had made for information before the case. In response Mueller’s team offered to give Concord Management’s lawyers a massive amount of social media data from those dangerous trolls (jk) who sought to influence the US election and the majority of it was in RUSSIAN. Mueller’s lawyers then admitted they don’t even have English translations for the Russian social media posts.
So Mueller’s lawyers don’t have English translations to the Russian social media posts but we’re supposed to believe that Americans were influenced by these posts?
Then among other things previously reported, Mueller’s corrupt attorney Jeannie Rhee went on to align the 10 Russians identified by the Mueller team as members of an ‘organization’. The Russian company’s attorney responded to the judge who apparently understood that these Russians were all members of Concord Management. He said:
No that’s not correct. The individual defendants? No. It’s not even alleged who they are. They’re alleged to be associated with something called an “organization,” which is a made up thing by the special counsel. They just made it up, and they called it an “organization”. We’re not even alleged to be part of the organization. We’re alleged to have funded it. But those people don’t work for us. It’s not alleged they they work for us.
Now this weekend the Concord Management team filed a motion against the Mueller team’s protective order request to conceal all data related to their case. The Concord team states in their motion filed June 14:
Having produced not one iota of discovery in this criminal case the unlawfully appointed Special Counsel requests a special and unprecedented blanket protective order covering tens of millions of pages of unclassified discovery. Having made this special request based on a secret submission to the Court and a hysterical dithyramb about the future of the American elections, one would think that the Special Counsel would cite to case holdings that support this remarkable request. But no, instead, the Special Counsel seeks to equate this make-believe electioneering case to others involving international terrorism and major drug trafficking, and relies only on irrelevant dicta from inappropriate, primarily out-of-circuit cases. In short, fake law, which is much more dangerous than fake news.
