Senator Grassley is a Coward/ Media Skunk Defends Fake News

Breitbart News reported:

Liberal protesters erupted during the first 30 minutes of the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Brett Kavanaugh on Wednesday (August 5).

During his opening remarks, Sen. Grassley said that over 70 protesters in the audience were arrested on Tuesday, but allowed that the protestors had a right to freedom of speech.

“Today will be different,” he said.

It wasn’t different. Breitbart reported:

… the protests continued as at least 26 protesters interrupted the first 30 minutes of the (Wednesday) hearing proceedings by screaming their dissent to Kavanaugh’s nomination. PBS NewsHour correspondent, Lisa Desjardins, who was present for the hearing, tracked the volume of protesters on Twitter

Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa, the Republican chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee which hosted the hearings, has only himself to blame. As chairman, he controls the hearing. Grassley should have ordered that all members of the public be removed from the hearing room after the first few protests on Tuesday. He could have excepted the invitees of judge Kavanaugh.

Citizens do not have any “right” to attend these hearings in person. That is a courtesy of the Senate.

There is no reason that this type of disruption should have been allowed to continue for two days. And it is not “free speech”, senator Grassley; it is the opposite. It is an attempt to deny free speech to judge Kavanaugh.

Grassley is just another spineless Republican who is terrified to stand up against the assault on our freedoms from Democrats and their far-left cronies for fear of being criticized by the media.

Question: How did these protesters get into the hearings?

Answer: Most were given tickets by Democrat politicians and by Democrat senators on the committee, that’s how. It is shameful, like the entire Democrat party is shameful.

Now here is today’s main commentary:

Fake News Star Defends Fake News

Below are excerpts from an article from The Atlantic magazine called It’s Time for the Press to Stop Complaining—And to Start Fighting Back by Chuck Todd, the host of NBC’s Meet the Press.

This article is laughable, as if the Fake News media are a defenseless victim of the big, bad president.

Todd is a card-carrying Washington Swamp Dweller and he thinks like they all do – he thinks only about himself and from his own point of view.

Each Todd excerpt is followed by a comment:

Todd writes: I’ve devoted much of my professional life to the study of political campaigns, not as a historian or an academic but as a reporter and an analyst. I thought I’d seen it all, from the bizarre upset that handed a professional wrestler the governorship of Minnesota to the California recall that gave us the Governator to candidates who die but stay on the ballot and win.

But there’s a new kind of campaign underway, one that most of my colleagues and I have never publicly reported on, never fully analyzed, and never fully acknowledged: the campaign to destroy the legitimacy of the American news media. comment: No, sir, the media have been undermined from within by radical bias dating back to Nixon and the 1960s. Public trust in the mainstream media had plummeted to abysmally low levels even before Trump.

Now they are veering even more to the extreme with their wacky treatment of Trump. This sets a scary precedent. believes that the Fake News media will never go back to rationality. This has been and will continue to be an immense danger to our freedom.

Todd writes: Bashing the media for political gain isn’t new, and neither is manipulating the media to support or oppose a cause. …

… Some of the wealthiest members of the media are not reporters from mainstream outlets. Figures such as Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, and the trio of Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and Laura Ingraham have attained wealth and power by exploiting the fears of older white people. They are thriving financially by exploiting the very same free-press umbrella they seem determined to undermine. comment: Oh, come on, Chucky. The entire Fake News media establishment in America – including all the major newspapers along with NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Hollywood, the arts, the universities, etc. – has gone way to the left and accumulated vast amounts of wealth. Then a few people like Rush Limbaugh and Fox News come along and successfully challenge it and Chuck Todd can’t take the heat. What a wussy.

Todd writes: Much of the current hand-wringing about this rise in press bashing and delegitimization has been focused on the president, who—as every reporter in America sadly knows—has declared the press the “enemy of the people.” comment: Here we have a perfect example of how fraudulent Todd himself is. Trump said that the “Fake News media” is the enemy of the people, not “the press”. And he is 100% correct. The Fake News media no longer report the news – they fabricate whatever news they want, like the Russia collusion hoax.

Todd writes: But, like much else in the Trump era, Donald Trump didn’t start this fire; he’s only spread it to a potentially more dangerous place.

The modern campaign against the American press corps has its roots in the Nixon era. President Richard Nixon’s angry foot soldiers continued his fight against the media even after he left office. comment: This, friends, is a surreal quote. In fact the media started the vicious war against Nixon way back in the 1950s. The “angry foot soldiers” were just fighting back. But the media cannot stand anyone fighting back. They can dish it out but they can’t take it. They are typical think-skinned liberals.

Todd writes: Roger Ailes, who went on to help found Fox News, was the most important of those figures. … Without Ailes, a man of Trump’s background and character could never have won. Roger Ailes was the godfather of the Trump presidency. comment: Sorry again, Chuck, but it was not Roger Ailes who gave us the Trump presidency. Donald Trump and the American people gave us the Trump presidency just like the American people gave us Reagan long before Fox and Rush Limbaugh came to national prominence. The American people are fed up with the Washington Establishment and its media cronies and their bias and extremism and their massive corruption.

Fox News shows get only about 1% of the US population as viewers on a good night (Hannity had 3.365 million viewers recently out of 326 million Americans). Fox is not even a fraction of the bogeyman that Todd claims it is. Yet Todd is terrified of Fox like the elephant terrified of the mouse. This is a sure sign of clinical paranoia which has infected everyone on the left.

Meanwhile the biased ABC, NBC and CBS nightly news programs combined average around 24 million viewers per evening.

Todd writes: Nixon’s acolytes blamed the press for drumming a good man out of office. From their perspective, his crimes were no different from the misdeeds of the Kennedys or Lyndon B. Johnson—but only Nixon was held to account. comment: Watergate was a dust ball compared to the mountain of corruption around Comey, Strzok, Hillary’s emails, the FBI, John Brennan, Uranium One, the fake ‘Russian dossier’, the Clinton Foundation, etc., all of which Chuck Todd has never spent a single moment investigating.

This is the biggest scandal in American history – the gutting of our national security and the turning of the apparatus of the federal government against a duly elected president, with the mainstream media totally ignoring it.

All of the evidence of these crimes has been carefully assembled by real investigative reporters like Sara Carter, David Schoen, Sidney Powell and others. No further information gathering is needed. Let us pray that attorney general Jeff Sessions is replaced soon so that we can get these cases prosecuted. supports Joe DeGenova to become AG.

Todd writes: There’s a fine line between motivating people through TV messages and simply manipulating them. Ailes’s gift, and the secret to his success, was his comfort in plunging across that line and embracing the role of TV manipulator. comment: Todd’s NBC has manipulated public opinion for decades, along with the rest of the Fake News media. MSNBC, which is the cable outlet of NBC, is a disgrace in its extreme anti-Trump bias. Then when Limbaugh and Ailes and fight back Todd squeals like a stuck pig since he no longer enjoys the media monopoly that NBC once had. What a crybaby.

Todd writes: Fox intended to build its brand the same way Ailes had built the brands of political candidates: by making the public hate the other choice more. comment: Todd ignores decades of infinitely worse bias from NBC, the New York Times, CNN, etc. which has been intended every single day to make the public hate conservatives. But now that these media skunks are getting blowback they don’t like it.

Todd writes: The charge of media bias can encompass a great many different problems. Critics, for example, may be pointing to the way that certain journalists pay more attention to some issues than to others, or complaining about the unquestioned assumptions reflected in journalists’ work. These are real issues, and most journalists labor to correct them. comment: Baloney. CNN just refused to retract a patently false story focusing on Clinton crony Lanny Davis, who even admitted that the story was false.

And on and on. Enough with this clown Todd. Meanwhile Fox news reported about Republican-hating Watergate journalist Bob Woodward:

President Trump on Tuesday asked whether Bob Woodward could be “a Dem operative” after an early copy of the veteran reporter’s soon-to-be-released book portrayed a chaotic White House plagued by infighting and bad-mouthing against the president.

Labeling details of the book “a con on the public” with “made up” quotes, the president also seemingly questioned the “timing” of the book reveal.

“The Woodward book has already been refuted and discredited by General (Secretary of Defense) James Mattis and General (Chief of Staff) John Kelly,” Trump tweeted. “Their quotes were made up frauds, a con on the public. Likewise other stories and quotes. Woodward is a Dem operative? Notice timing?”

An early copy of The Washington Post associate editor’s book was obtained by The Washington Post. According to the Post, it portrays a Trump White House that’s filled with second-guessing by members of Trump’s staff, who repeatedly bad-mouth him behind closed doors.

Once again Trump has taken on the Fake News establishment. Great. Over his whole career, starting with Watergate, Woodward has never been seriously fact-checked or peer-reviewed. His words have been taken as gospel simply because he hates conservatives and Republicans.

Meanwhile the New York Times has published an op-ed column allegedly written by an “anonymous” author and a ‘senior official’ in the White House describing how that official and others are trying to save the country by thwarting Trump’s worst impulses from within.

Who says this essay is real? It could have been composed by a Times columnist in New York. It sure sounds like a classic New York Times hit piece on Trump.

And even if the essay is real, who cares? There are disaffected employees in every company.

Here is one final story on another level that shows how this charade works:

A black driver recently was stopped by police in his Mercedes in a nice neighborhood for failing to use his turn signal. The driver claimed that the police had harassed him because he was black. The driver posted on the internet his recollection of an alleged exchange between himself and the police officer that claimed that the officer had stopped him simply for being black and was very arrogant toward him, treating him like a criminal.

But the exchange was proven to be false as shown by the body-cam recording of the incident. The officer was in fact very polite and professional.

If we did not have the exchange on the body-cam video the inflammatory exchange would never have been disproven. That is why we need to have sources named for The New York Times, NBC, Bob Woodward and all the rest of these Fake News skunks. Who knows how many lies they are telling.

Now here is a third commentary:

‘Greenies’ Using Extra-Legal Tactics to Fight their Battles

The Washington Times reports:

With their busy schedules and tight state budgets, Democratic attorneys general have little in the way of time and resources to advance climate-change policies, which is where billionaire Michael Bloomberg comes in.

The former New York City mayor’s fortune has bankrolled a year-long effort to place privately funded lawyers as “special assistant attorneys general” in at least six states with specific instructions to work on “clean energy, climate change, and environmental interests.”

The program, run through the New York University School of Law, comes as the most disturbing example of the “billion-dollar per year climate industry” gaining access to law-enforcement authority in pursuit of a political agenda, according to a report released Wednesday by the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

“The scheme raises serious questions about special interests setting states’ policy and law enforcement agendas, without accountability to the taxpayers and voters whom these law enforcement officials supposedly serve,” said CEI senior fellow Chris Horner, who authored the report, “Law Enforcement for Rent: How Special Interests Fund Climate Policy Through State Attorneys General.”

Mr. Horner, who spent two-and-a-half years collecting emails and documents through the open-records requests and court orders, called for “prompt and serious legislative oversight” into the off-the-books infiltration of state law-enforcement offices by lawyers dedicated to the climate agenda.

This is shocking. This would be like a US senator having a paid oil-industry lawyer working on his staff to direct policy towards the oil industry. Imagine the firestorm that that would cause.

The worst part is that this is going on behind closed doors; in other words, if Horner had not exposed it we would know nothing about it.

This cannot even be legal. It must be prosecuted where possible.

This is yet another arm of Deep State corruption that we are not supposed to know about.
These ‘green’ devils are everywhere. They are seeking to overthrow our economy and our way of life and give us windmills and solar panels instead. They lie pathologically. They have been debunked over and over.

The Washington Times continues:

State attorneys general have increasingly become political foils for the White House … but critics say the specter of donor-funded prosecutors rises to a new level.

The State Energy and Environmental Impact Center at NYU, funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, formed in response to the Trump administration to help attorneys general “fight regulatory roll-backs and other actions that undermine clean energy, climate change, and environmental values and protections.”

The center accepts applications from state attorneys general who demonstrate “a need and a commitment to advancing clean energy matters.” Salaries for the “special assistant attorneys general,” or SAAGs, range from $75,000 to $149,483 annually for a two-year commitment, the report said.
