Political Polarization is More Dangerous than Terrorism

Newsmax.com reported:

Modern-day political division in the United States has former Gov. George Pataki, R-N.Y., more worried now than a potential terrorist attack did before 9/11, he told Sunday’s “The Cats Roundtable.”

“Let’s stop thinking as Republicans or Democrats; let’s start thinking as Americans,” Pataki told host John Catsimatidis. “If we do that, these should be the most optimistic times in a long long time. The economy is doing well. The country is strong.

“But our internal divisions are what worries me almost as much, well, more than I was worried about a possible terrorist attack before it happened on Sept. 11.”

Pataki ridiculed political division as “our greatest enemy,” adding “we just can’t act civilly because we happen to disagree on a philosophical or political question.”

Pataki is correct but he does not place the blame in the right place. Like most non-conservatives and media commentators he seems to be blaming “both sides” for this state of affairs, that it is a general polarization that is threatening us.

It is not. Pataki gets closer to the truth further down in the interview, referring to the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings when he said:

“In Washington, you have hearings that are more like a circus or a clown show than the deliberative attempt to understand the philosophy of the person who has been appointed. You can’t have a democracy like that.”

He then added:

“You have to respect each other.”

No, governor, we do not need to “respect each other”. What really needs to happen is that the disruptors on the Democrat side need to respect Republicans and conservatives and American rules, laws and decorum like in a US Senate hearing room during confirmation proceedings for a Supreme Court justice.

We never saw this type of rabid partisanship against Obama when he was president. We conservatives didn’t go around beating up Obama supporters in the streets or murdering three of them. Or disrupting Senate hearings. Or firebombing Democrat offices. Or ramming liberal TV stations with trucks. Or rioting over the inauguration and getting away with it from a lenient judge (no rioters have to date been sentenced. Only 21 out of 234 arrested still face any possibility of punishment).

Divisive rhetoric comes every day from the left. MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough wrote in The Washington Post on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks that president Trump “has done more damage to the dream of America than any foreign adversary ever could.”

This column was approved by Washington Post editors. This is the same Washington Post that editorialized that president Trump would be “complicit” in the damage expected from Hurricane Florence (most of which never happened in another blow to ‘climate change’ hysteria).

Let’s face it – a statement like Scarborough’s does more damage to the dream of America than any foreign adversary is capable of doing. At least we can identify our foreign enemies and take military action against them if necessary. Or prosecute and jail them if their agents are inside the United States.

On the other hand Scarborough is corrupting America from within from his perch at MSNBC, and perfectly legally. This is why he is so dangerous. Trump is a duly elected president who won a hard-fought campaign with a brilliant strategy. He has damaged nobody. Quite the opposite; he has shown us what freedom is really about and Scarborough can’t stand it.

How many editorial rants have we seen from Scarborough and his media cronies at the Washington Post about direct threats to our safety and security like suggestions of confrontation and violence from Maxine Waters (saying she wants to “knock off” Trump), from Obama (“punish your enemies” or “get in their face”) or from ‘antifa’ thugs over their domestic terror tactics? Or about the recent comment by a Broadway actress wondering “Where is John Wilkes Booth when you need him?” (Booth was the assassin of president Abraham Lincoln).

None. It is Trump, Trump, Trump – 24/7/365

Where all of these “free speech liberals” when Google and Facebook censor conservatives?

They are silent. And this is another imminent danger to our liberty from the left. We conservatives desire open debate and for good reason – because we will always win. This is why liberals oppose debate and instead favor censorship.

Trump supporter Cassandra Fairbanks reported on The Gateway Pundit:

An anonymous Twitter user with an account dedicated to promoting the Democratic Socialists has threatened a mass shooting at Tuesday evening’s MAGA Meetup at Trump Hotel in DC.

The threat was directed at this writer and stated that they are “coming with a gun” and that they “expect to get numerous bloodstained MAGA hats as trophies” along with a photo of a gun.

The monthly networking meetup will be a mix of several different pro-Trump groups including Virginia Women for Trump. Members of the media, midterm candidates and people who work closely with the president are often in attendance at the events.

Where is the outrage from Scarborough? Or from Obama, who is out campaigning vigorously against Trump?

There are only crickets… In fact Nikitas3.com wrote in a commentary recently that Democrats are intentionally ignoring the actions of these crazy Trump haters and are thus tacitly supporting them.

Nikitas3.com even believes that the baseball game shooter in Alexandria, Virginia in June 2017 was part of a conspiracy, that there is no possible way that a small-town extremist from the Midwest would have known, without inside information, when and where to bring a high-powered rifle from a thousand miles away in Illinois and seek to kill all of those Republican congressmen at a once-a-year baseball practice game at 6 o’clock in the morning.

Has Joe Scarborough or any of his left-wing media cronies suggested any type of investigation into that event, which was one of the gravest internal threats to our freedom in decades?

Nope. Look at this from PJ Media:

Last week, PJ Media contributor and Fox News guest Denise McAllister sent out a powerful tweet denouncing the abortion movement. Little did she know, days later she would be in hiding, scared for her life. When she went public about receiving death and rape threats, pro-abortion Twitter users championed the threats against her.

How about this from CBS in San Francisco:

A man was arrested after allegedly attempting to stab a Republican congressional candidate with a switchblade over the weekend at in Castro Valley, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday, September 9, at approximately 3:45 p.m., deputies working at the Castro Valley Fall Festival were alerted to a possible knife attack at one of the vendor booths.

Deputies arrived at the booth and made contact with the victim, Republican candidate Randy Peters, who is running against current Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell for a local congressional seat.

According to witnesses, 35-year-old Castro Valley resident Farzad Fazeli approached Peters at his booth in an aggressive manner and made disparaging, profanity-laced remarks about the Republican party and President Donald Trump.

Hmmmm… Another anti-Trumper. Farzad Fazeli. Is he an American? Is he a muslim? Let’s look into his past. Who has he been associated with? What campaigns has he worked on? Remember that the baseball shooter had worked for Bernie Sanders.

Yet Joe Scarborough is calling Trump himself a threat to “the dream of America.”

Scarborought used to be a Republican congressman and a Trump supporter. But he has flipped completely. Interestingly he has a very troubling issue in his past. Here is investmentwatchdog.com reporting:

Many Americans probably have forgotten, or never knew, that a 28-year-old female staff member was found dead in the summer of 2001 in the office of U.S. Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-FL). Officials in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, determined that Lori Klausutis died from an accident. The mainstream press largely ignored the case, but our review of several investigative reports indicates the official finding is highly questionable.

So does the Deep State have dirt on Scarborough? Could this be influencing his militant rhetoric toward president Trump?

Here is congresswoman Maxine Waters inciting her followers to confrontation and violence:

If you think we’re rallying now, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Already, you have members of your Cabinet that are being booed out of restaurants who have protesters taking up at their house, who say, ‘No peace, no sleep. No peace, no sleep.’ God is on OUR side! On the side of the children… Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

‘Not welcome anymore, anywhere’? Where is Scarborough to criticize this incitement to intimidation, violence and exclusion?

He is nowhere. He is obsessed with Donald Trump. Waters said worse:

“There are those who say, ‘What if we get rid of (Trump)? Then we’ve got that Vice President and he’ll be worse.’ I say knock off the first one and then go after the second one,’”

Oh, Joe! Where are you?! These are direct threats of violence. National Review reported:

A pickup truck repeatedly rammed into a Fox News affiliate’s television studio in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday morning, according to police.

Authorities have detained a 34-year-old man who drove the pickup truck, which was filled with leaflets, into the downtown Dallas building housing KDFW Fox 4’s studios at about 6:12 A.M., shattering its windows. He will be charged with criminal mischief.

Joe Scarborough, where are you?! Criminal mischief? How about domestic terrorism inspired by rhetoric from people like Joe Scarborough?

No wonder he is silent…
