Far-right lawmaker Jair Bolsonaro won Brazil’s presidential election on Sunday, riding a wave of frustration over corruption and crime that brought a dramatic swing to the right in the world’s fourth-largest democracy.
With 94 percent of ballots counted, Bolsonaro had 56 percent of the votes in the run-off election against left-wing hopeful Fernando Haddad of the Workers Party (PT), who had 44 percent, according to the electoral authority TSE.
Notice that Bolsonaro, who is called the ‘Tropical Trump’, is referred in virtually all news stories as “far right”. This shows a global media bias against anyone who is not on the socialist/communist left.
President Trump is considered “far right” by many in the US when in fact he is doing things that are perfectly reasonable like stimulating the economy, seeking to slow the flood of illegal aliens, wiping out ISIS terrorists in the Middle East and demonstrating leadership in getting better trade deals.
Bolsonaro was elected with 56% of the votes. It is interesting to note that president Trump won 57% of the electoral votes. So there are parallels between the two.
Looking at the Brazilian vote we can expect US Republicans to do much better in the coming elections than the media or the polls say. Nikitas3.com believes that this Brazilian vote is a bellwether just as Nikitas3.com depicted the election of conservative mayors in Brazil’s two largest cities Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo as a harbinger of Trump’s election.
Here is how Asia Pacific Daily describes Bolsonaro:
Bolsonaro is a 63-year-old ex-army captain turned politician, a congressman since the early 1990s with almost no legislative record or previous political accomplishments.
The global media said much the same thing about candidate Donald Trump who is turning out to be the most effective US president ever.
Meanwhile the American media slobbered all over Obama when he had zero political accomplishments even though he was a career politician. At the same time Obama had zero accomplishments in the world of business or in any other executive decision-making post where he would be required to make hard choices, as a president is required to do. This is why we could have anticipated Obama’s failed presidency. Reuters continued:
“We cannot continue flirting with communism … We are going to change the destiny of Brazil,”
Bolsonaro said in an acceptance address in which he vowed to carry out his campaign promises to stamp out corruption after years of leftist rule.
The former army captain’s rise has been propelled by rejection of the leftist PT that ran Brazil for 13 of the last 15 years and was ousted two years ago in the midst of a deep recession and political graft scandal.
This is the usual routine – liberals, leftists and communists destroy the economy, let crime run rampant, and steal everything in sight and then conservatives get elected to clean up the mess. One former “far left” Brazilian president is in jail and another, a former communist guerilla, has been impeached.
This is the same scenario that we are seeing in the US with Trump elected to clean up Obama’s mess and with major Deep State players losing their jobs and facing possible jail time. Reuters continued:
The vote had been calm and orderly across the country, said Laura Chinchilla, the former president of Costa Rica who is head of the Organization of American States’ Electoral Observation Mission. Brazil has suffered a spate of partisan violence during the polarized campaign.
Fake News Reuters conveniently omitted the fact that Bolsonaro was stabbed by a leftist and almost killed during the campaign. This is like the ongoing violence from the left against Republicans in the US like congressman Steve Scalise and US senator Rand Paul, along with physical attacks on hundreds of Trump supporters, which are conveniently downplayed or ignored by the media. Reuters reports:
Many Brazilians are concerned that Bolsonaro, an admirer of Brazil’s 1964-1985 military dictatorship and a defender of its use of torture on leftist opponents, will trample on human rights, curtail civil liberties and muzzle freedom of speech.
The 63-year-old seven-term congressman has vowed to crack down on crime in Brazil’s cities and farm belt by granting police more autonomy to shoot at criminals. He also wants to let more Brazilians buy weapons to fight crime.
Yes indeed, when criminals are running wild and the police are not fighting back against them under leftist soft-on-crime policies, like illegal immigrants perpetrating a massive crime wave across the US, then there is going to be a backlash and policies are going to change.
Bolsonaro could be compared to the current Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte who has suggested that drug dealers be killed by citizens in order to bring law and order to a country wracked by drug crime and violence that the police cannot handle.
As we conservatives have said many times we are the party of law and order and liberals are the party of crime and economic decay. It happens every time.
Watch for conditions in Brazil to start to improve markedly under Bolsonaro and for him to be a popular president.
Jerry Brown Becomes the ‘Doomsday’ Man
If you want a good laugh, look at this from The Washington Times about the far-left governor of California who is leaving office after two terms:
California Gov. Jerry Brown has taken over management of a grim but iconic symbol of potential destruction: The “Doomsday Clock.”
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has announced that “California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr.” has joined the nonprofit organization and will act as executive chairman.
The organization has maintained the Doomsday Clock since 1947 — a symbolic timepiece that suggests how close the world is to destruction from nuclear war, climate change, disruptive technologies and other threats.
The clock now stands at two minutes to midnight, matching a record set in 1953, when the U.S. and Soviet Union were busy testing nuclear weapons.
This is the perfect job for Brown. After he has pushed California to the brink of doomsday with his policies it is appropriate that he would take over the national Doomsday Clock, a silly, theatrical construct designed to instill hysteria and fear.
So you can imagine Brown sitting at his desk all day and reading news reports and then, before he leaves work, pushing the Doomsday Clock hands ahead or behind by a few seconds or minutes according to the news of the day. What a joke.
The Washington Times continued:
Mr. Brown’s new calling will further “the mission of providing the information needed to reduce manmade existential threats such as nuclear war, climate change, and disruptive technologies,” according to a statement from the organization.
Oh, so there you go. Just forget everything else and focus on two words – ‘climate change’. This is what this nonsense is really about. Brown is a major ‘climate change’ alarmist and he is going to insert ‘climate change’ into the Doomsday Clock scenario… as if environmentalists have not done so already every minute of every day.
Good luck in your new job, governor! We’ll see you on the Other Side of Doomsday!
