The Real Meaning of French Protests / Communist Cuba is Falling Down

The protests and violence in France are aimed at a “green” motor fuel tax. And they are having an effect. Reuters reported:

France’s prime minister on Tuesday suspended planned increases to fuel taxes for six months in response to weeks of sometimes violent protests, the first major U-turn by President Emmanuel Macron’s administration after 18 months in office.

In announcing the decision, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said anyone would have “to be deaf or blind” not to see or hear the anger on the streets over a policy that Macron has defended as critical to combating climate change.

OK, so there you go… “a policy that Macron has defended as critical to combating climate change.” This means that the taxes are intended to make fuel more expensive so that the people use less of it.

Friends, this ‘climate change’ fraud has gone on for far too long; it is just another sham to take money from the people of the world and give it to leftists and environmentalists for windmills and solar panels, and to fund their political campaigns against conservatives and the middle class.

The climate has been changing naturally for thousands of years, long before the burning of oil, coal, gasoline or natural gas. Nothing that is happening today – droughts, floods, hurricanes, extreme heat and cold, etc. – is any different from anything that has happened before.

These riots are part of a wider uprising by “the people” against the socialist elites and their environmentalist cronies as we have seen all over Europe and in the US with the election of president Trump. Reuters continued:

As well as a six-month delay in introducing the carbon-tax increases, Philippe said the period would be used to discuss other measures to help the working poor who rely on vehicles to get to work and go to the shops.

The best thing to help ‘the working poor’ would be to repeal France’s already astronomical gasoline taxes, which have been part of its socialist agenda for decades. Even before the recent ‘green tax’ increase that set off the riots, gasoline in France was $7 a gallon. The difference between that and $2.50 a gallon in the US is the taxes.

Could this protest in France be the beginning of a backlash against ‘green’ agendas and taxes worldwide?

Let us hope so. When Obama was president, gasoline prices in the US went up to $4 a gallon and stayed there for years.

This was not a result of taxes, however, but of a limited supply. Yet both taxes and a restricted supply come from the same place – from the political left.

Obama and his ‘green’ friends opposed any measures to increase the oil supply like tapping into the vast ANWR oil deposit in Alaska (10 billion barrels of oil or maybe much more), which has since been opened under president Trump.

Then around 2013 domestic “fracking” started to massively increase US fuel supplies. That brought the price down quickly to around $2 a gallon. Remember? Yet Obama and his ‘green’ cronies oppose ‘fracking’ since it puts the lie to their propaganda that the world is running out of oil.

It is not. Environmentalists have been claiming this for decades yet the world today has larger oil reserves than ever. Even better, oil is easier to find and extract than ever in history with ‘fracking’ and with another super-efficient practice called directional drilling where drillers can reach many different deposits from one platform. believes that the world has a virtually unlimited supply of oil and natural gas, that we have only scratched the proverbial surface. Israel, for instance, discovered a few years ago that it has massive underground oil reserves in so-called oil shale that it did not know about just 10 years ago.

Canada has a potential 2 trillion barrels in its Alberta oil sands. The US has a potential 2 trillion barrels in oil shale. The list goes on and on.

The best thing for “the poor” in France – and for everyone else – is to keep the oil supply up and keep taxes down, both of which are opposed by Obama and the socialists in France.

And in case you haven’t noticed the former actor and Republican governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has gone into full ‘green’ lunacy. He recently said at a United Nations conference that he wishes he could back in time and “terminate” oil, coal and natural gas.

This guy is an idiot. He said this because nobody cares about him anymore after his failed governorship. So he has become a ‘greenie’ radical in order to endear himself to the Fake News media.

Men are Getting Weaker under Feminism, Socialism

Let’s face it – men in Western nations like Europe, Canada and the US are getting less and less manly.

Men are being defamed in college courses for their masculinity; women dominate and intimidate men and take their jobs away; wives henpeck their husbands into becoming socialist eunuchs, etc.

Now a study on the website says Millennial Men Ditching Traditional ‘Masculine’ Values, More Likely To Embrace ‘Emotional Strength’. Below are excerpts from the article by Ben Renner, with a comment after each excerpt:

Renner writes: A new study finds that male millennials are drifting away from stereotypical masculine values.

The research, led by the University of British Columbia (Canada) showed that younger men tend to value selflessness, social engagement, and health over traditional male ideals like physical strength and autonomy.

Of course, physique and independence were still prominent values for the 630 Canadian men aged 15 to 29 who took part in the survey, just not as important to participants as selflessness.

In fact, selflessness was by far the top-rated male value. Nine in 10 respondents said that men should should help others, and 88 percent of the respondents agreed that men should be open to new ideas, new people, and new experiences. Eight in 10 felt it imperative that a man gives back to his community. comment: The key word is “selflessness”. This implies that masculine men have been selfish throughout history, which is untrue. Strong men have been protecting women, supporting their families, defending their countries, creating economic growth, and doing the hard labor in societies for thousands of years.

But alas, that apparently is not “selfless” enough. No, selflessness today means that the man admits that he is a creep, submits to his wife’s political henpecking, and then volunteers at the soup kitchen rather than going to his paying job on construction, on the railroads, in the coal mines, etc.

Renner writes: “Young Canadian men seem to be holding masculine values that are distinctly different from those of previous generations. These values may run counter to long-standing claims that young men are typically hedonistic, hypercompetitive, and that they risk or neglect their health,” notes lead author John Oliffe, nursing professor and head of the men’s health program at UBC, in a news release. comment: This may be true, but then again it is talking about Canadian men. So that does not really count. Canada stopped being a real country years ago. Today it is a socialist dystopia where real men are hard to find. The wussy prime minister Justin Trudeau is a classic girly-man.

Renner writes: Three-quarters of participants did feel that physical strength was important, but that finding was still notably less than the 87 percent who agreed a man should embody intellectual strength or the 83 percent who viewed emotional strength as highly important. Similarly, only 78 percent of men listed autonomy as a defining “male” characteristic.

“As a millennial myself, I can see these values reflected in the lives of men around me,” says study co-author Nick Black, managing partner at Intensions Consulting, a research firm that helped carry out the survey. “They want to be both caring and strong, both open to others and self-sufficient, and they see no contradiction in these values.” comment: “Emotional strength” and “caring” and “open to others” are all classic definitions of manhood from the feminist left that really mean ‘emasculated’.

Move Farms into the City – Another Absurd ‘Green’ Idea

The Washington Times recently allowed a nutty ‘green’ activist (NGA) to write about yet another ridiculous idea from the environmentalists – moving farms from the countryside into the cities. Here are excerpts from the article, with a comment after each excerpt:

NGA writes: Food production needs to get more efficient, more equitable and more environmentally minded. Moreover, food production should follow the population to the cities, or as Dickson Despommier, a forerunner of this movement, simply states: “Put the food where the people live.”

Indoor farming through controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) will be an important component towards establishing local food systems that can address this pending crisis in global food insecurity. CEA, simply put, is using smart, sustainable farming practices inside of high-tech greenhouses. This is nothing new, and these modern greenhouses are an established technology and can be found around the world. In fact, much of the lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers in the EU come from CEA in the Netherlands and Spain.

These greenhouses have incredible benefits compared to traditional farming: They use less water because they are protected from the sun and wind, they use fewer pesticides because insects and disease can be kept outside, and there is less waste because production can be matched exactly to consumer demands. comment: Oh, sure… this is more utopian baloney from the environmentalists. They won’t consider the primary hurdle to this idea, that land prices in cities make this ‘farming’ prohibitively expensive.

NGA writes: If hydroponics or other soil-less practices are used, the farmer does not need to use tractors for tilling, plowing and reaping, so the oil bills and energy consumption are lower. In addition, the fertilizer usage is reduced, and all the fertilizer the farmer uses is consumed by the plants, thereby reducing nutrient-rich runoff that can pollute watersheds. Known as eutrophication, this nutrient pollution is a huge problem for coastal communities in the Chesapeake Bay and Gulf of Mexico and has impacted fisheries, recreational activities and livelihoods around the world.

However, CEA greenhouses can occupy a lot of space. So, the next logical evolution is stacking these modern greenhouses, one atop the other. comment: Or build the same greenhouses out in the country where land is much cheaper. Or skip the greenhouses altogether and go back to old-fashioned farming, which is what is going to happen.

These urban greenhouses are just another trendy idea from the ‘greenies’. If greenhouses really worked, then all of our food would be grown in greenhouses. It is not. Hardly any of our food is grown in such a manner.

NGA writes: An added benefit of farming inside of skyscrapers is the option of having mixed-use buildings. When combined with a wholesale market, the skyscraper can not only produce the food but get it to the consumer faster. Less time in storage, less transportation and less handling means fresher produce and reduced need for postharvest treatments like irradiation and chemical fumigation. comment: OK, enough… “farming inside of skyscrapers” is the kind of ‘green’ nonsense that looks great in a drawing in a Sierra Club pamphlet but that does not work in the real world.

Communist Cuba is Falling Down

We all know that communism destroys a nation from within. And there is no better proof than the situation in Venezuela today, a nation with the world’s largest oil reserves that has slid into starvation and poverty under its marxist government.

USA Today recently reported about Cuba, another communist “workers’ paradise”:

Rafael Álvarez was up at 6:30 a.m. to warm milk for his baby daughter when he heard the sound of pebbles falling.

“That’s when the floor below us came loose. We were left hanging in the air, then fell into the abyss.”

Álvarez, 41, a baker, was buried in rubble to his waist. His mother, daughter and two others were killed when the 101-year-old building collapsed.

“Save the babies!” were his mother’s last words, he said.

In Havana, some of the same architectural gems that draw tens of thousands of American tourists crash to the ground every year. Causes range from weather and neglect to faulty renovations and theft of structural beams.

Carlos Guerrero, 45, said he and his family live “like scared dogs” in a crumbling building along Merced Street.

Neighbors tell them, “Get out of there! It’s going to collapse!”

“It makes you feel like going and living under a bridge,” said Guerrero, who vows to grab a machete and seek revenge on housing officials if anything happens to his wife and three children.

Yes, sir, only under communism would people think that living under a bridge would be better than living in an apartment. Communism is a filthy and corrupt system that impoverishes the people and destroys the infrastructure. USA Today continued:

Some 3,856 partial or total building collapses were reported in Havana from 2000 to 2013, not including 2010 and 2011 when no records were kept.

The collapses worsened an already severe housing shortage. Havana alone had a deficit of 206,000 homes in 2016, official figures show.

The housing crisis is one of the most pressing challenges facing Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who vowed to improve housing after taking charge of the communist nation of 11 million people in April.

Havana officials have won dozens of international awards for their work to restore the historic sector known as Old Havana, with styles ranging from Baroque and neoclassical to Art Deco.

UNESCO calls Old Havana one of Latin America’s “most notable” historic city centers and named it a World Heritage site in 1982.

Old Havana was part of a beautiful and prosperous capital city that the communists took over and destroyed with their policies. USA Today reports:

Officials estimate 28,000 people live in buildings that could collapse at any moment. Some residents refuse to leave structures that authorities have declared unsafe.

“Of course we’re scared but what are we going to do?” said Yanelis Flores, 42, who rejected a government offer to move into a shelter. “I will wait for a house,” said Flores from the eighth floor of the former Hotel Astor, which had American management and 200 rooms in the 1930s.

Today, daylight shines through terrifying cracks in the walls.

“This is worse than a pig pen,” Flores said. “It’s rotting.”

The third-floor staircase collapsed in April 2017.

“It was a tremendous explosion – boom!” second-floor resident Yuslemy Díaz recalled. “People on the third and fourth floors were stranded because they couldn’t get down. It was a madhouse.”

The only ‘madhouse’ is the communist ideology that created this disaster in the first place.
