First, here is a quick word about the National Football League:
Have you noticed that the National Anthem protests are nowhere to be seen this football season?
The reason is simple: The players and the owners finally figured out that these protests were destroying the NFL, that millions of viewers and fans were turning against the game as it became increasingly politicized.
So the protests have vanished. Great. This is a huge political victory for president Trump who spoke out vocally against the protests.
Now here is today’s first commentary:
A recent report from the United States Geological Survey describes the largest oil and gas resources ever discovered in Texas and New Mexico, and one of the biggest in the world. Science Daily writes:
Today, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced the Wolfcamp Shale and overlying Bone Spring Formation in the Delaware Basin portion of Texas and New Mexico’s Permian Basin province contain an estimated mean of 46.3 billion barrels of oil, 281 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and 20 billion barrels of natural gas liquids, according to an assessment by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This estimate is for continuous (unconventional) oil, and consists of undiscovered, technically recoverable resources.
Dr. Jim Reilly, USGS director, said, “In the 1980’s, during my time in the petroleum industry, the Permian and similar mature basins were not considered viable for producing large new recoverable resources. Today, thanks to advances in technology, the Permian Basin continues to impress in terms of resource potential. The results of this most recent assessment and that of the Wolfcamp Formation in the Midland Basin in 2016 are our largest continuous oil and gas assessments ever released. Knowing where these resources are located and how much exists is crucial to ensuring both our energy independence and energy dominance.”
This is great news for American consumers. President Trump has started America down a path of energy abundance and independence.
But there has been little mention of this discovery in the Fake News media since it is good news for America, which the Fake News media do not want to report.
Obama led us down the path of energy scarcity. During the Obama years gasoline and heating oil approached and sometimes passed $4 a gallon. Remember? This happened as ‘green’ restrictions curtailed the oil supply.
Prices then fell dramatically to as little as $2 a gallon as “fracking” came online around 2013 and 2014 – a process that Obama and his ‘greenie’ friends opposed and continue to oppose to this very day. “Fracking” produces larger and larger amounts of oil and natural gas from established wells.
Gasoline in New England today is around $2.40 a gallon. If Obama’s obstructionist policies were still in effect the price would probably be $5 a gallon and maybe much more.
This new Texas discovery is going to be a whopper and this is just the start. There may be much more oil than these initial forecasts indicate. For instance the initial estimate when the Prudhoe Bay oilfield in northern Alaska was first discovered in the 1960s was that it held one billion barrels of oil. It since has produced 18 billion barrels and is still operating.
Don’t ever let the ‘greenies’ tell you that “the world is running out of oil”. They have been saying it since the 1970s yet today we have more oil than ever, while most of the world remains underexplored or totally unexplored. Even Israel recently discovered huge oil-shale deposits that it did not know about just 10 years ago.
Another massive oil reserve will be coming on line over the next decade, the famous ANWR deposit in northern Alaska near the existing Prudhoe Bay field. ANWR has been estimated at 10 billion barrels but like Prudhoe it may have much more.
The 800-mile Alaska pipeline was completed in 1977 to move Prudhoe Bay crude oil over land to the southern Alaska ocean port of Valdez where the oil is trans-loaded onto ships for transport to refiners.
The ‘greenies’ vehemently opposed both the development of the Prudhoe Bay field and construction of the pipeline. After both came online environmentalists immediately started plotting to dismantle the pipeline as soon as Prudhoe Bay ran out which at the time was expected in the 1980s.
But the new ANWR field will keep the pipeline open and contributing to our economy for another 40 years or more.
Here is another way that ‘greenies’ lied about the pipeline: They claimed that the above-ground sections of the pipeline would block the migratory patterns of caribou and cause their population to crash. Yet the opposite happened. The pipeline was raised on stilts to allow migration while caribou have been congregating for decades near the warm pipeline (the oil comes out of the ground warm) and reproducing, and their numbers have flourished.
Nikitas3.com believes that the world has virtually unlimited oil and natural gas supplies and that these fuels are not only surprisingly abundant but are becoming easier to locate and extract with modern technology.
New England is Freezing under ‘Global Warming’
New England is currently in a deep freeze. We just had the coldest Thanksgiving in memory. Early December has been frigid while the Winter of 2017-18 was the coldest in the last century.
So what ever happened to ‘global warming’? Good question. The earth has been cooling ever since Al Gore declared flatly in 2007 that ‘warming’ was “settled science” and that “the planet has a fever”. There was snow in Houston recently and the world has seen record cold temperatures in many places over the last decade.
And that is why the ‘greenie’ alarmists quietly altered the name of their crisis from “global warming” to “climate change” around 2010.
That way they do not have to seek to explain all of this frigid weather; they actually tried blaming frigid weather on ‘warming’ but that did not work out well. So now they can blame the cold on ‘climate change’. Very convenient.
In fact they blame every weather event on so-called ‘climate change’ – extreme heat and cold, tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, snow, rain, floods, forest fires, anything at all. ‘Climate change’ is a convenient catch-all phrase.
They tried to blame the California drought on ‘warming’ but droughts are often a direct result of cooling. When the air is cooler it absorbs less moisture from the ocean and thus has less moisture to drop as rain when it passes over land.
Perhaps you recall the 1970s when the same alarmists were predicting ‘global cooling’. There is even a famous video on the subject, available on YouTube, starring Leonard Nimoy of Star Trek fame. Everything in the video is cold, cold, cold, snow, ice and glaciers. Not a word about ‘warming’.
And if you wonder why the alarmists predicted ‘cooling’, it is simple to explain: The 1960s and 1970s were very cold and snowy in the US and so the alarmists simply attached themselves to the existing weather trends and made it out to be a crisis for their own political benefit.
Then, after a few warm years in the 1990s, they switched to “global warming” for about 15 years, and then altered it to “climate change”. Phew. It is hard to keep up with these people. The only thing that prevents them from becoming a laughingstock is that their media cronies report everything that they say as the truth even if it contradicts what they said last year.
Here is an excerpt from someone named Peter Gwynne from Newsweek magazine on April 28, 1975, to show you how they have changed their tune. Notice the sense of alarm as Gwynne wrote in an article called The Cooling World:
There are ominous signs that the Earth’s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production – with serious political implications for just about every nation on Earth. The drop in food output could begin quite soon, perhaps only 10 years from now. The regions destined to feel its impact are the great wheat-producing lands of Canada and the U.S.S.R. in the North, along with a number of marginally self-sufficient tropical areas – parts of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indochina and Indonesia – where the growing season is dependent upon the rains brought by the monsoon.
The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologists are hard-pressed to keep up with it. In England, farmers have seen their growing season decline by about two weeks since 1950, with a resultant overall loss in grain production estimated at up to 100,000 tons annually. During the same time, the average temperature around the equator has risen by a fraction of a degree – a fraction that in some areas can mean drought and desolation. Last April, in the most devastating outbreak of tornadoes ever recorded, 148 twisters killed more than 300 people and caused half a billion dollars’ worth of damage in 13 U.S. states.
To scientists, these seemingly disparate incidents represent the advance signs of fundamental changes in the world’s weather. The central fact is that after three quarters of a century of extraordinarily mild conditions, the earth’s climate seems to be cooling down. Meteorologists disagree about the cause and extent of the cooling trend, as well as over its specific impact on local weather conditions. But they are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. If the climatic change is as profound as some of the pessimists fear, the resulting famines could be catastrophic. “A major climatic change would force economic and social adjustments on a worldwide scale,” warns a recent report by the National Academy of Sciences, “because the global patterns of food production and population that have evolved are implicitly dependent on the climate of the present century.”
Notice that Gwynne says – “after three quarters of a century of extraordinarily mild conditions”. This refers to warm temperatures as recorded in the United States, not from projections or estimates.
The first half of the 20th century was relatively warm, particularly the period from 1910 to 1945. This led to the melting of glaciers and polar ice, and to warm winters. The year 1934 was one of the warmest years on record yet 1934 came during the great economic depression when coal and oil consumption were at low levels due to a lack of economic activity.
Still the ‘greenies’ blame today’s alleged “warming” on the burning of oil, coal and natural gas. Except that there is no ‘warming’; there is real and measurable cooling.
The climate has ‘changed’ naturally for thousands of years due to two main factors – the cycles of the sun and the currents in the oceans, like El Nino. But ‘greenies’ claim that only a third factor controls the climate – the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. That way they can blame the burning of coal, oil and natural gas – and the oil companies that produce them – for “destroying the earth” through CO2 emissions.
Their real goal is to replace efficient coal, oil and natural gas with inefficient windmills and solar panels that environmentalists then get rich on.
Meanwhile they file endless lawsuits against the oil companies in order to try and take their wealth. Exxon Mobil had revenues of $237 billion in 2017.
The Cooling World alarmist Peter Gwynne wrote in Newsweek in 1975:
“The world’s food-producing system,” warns Dr. James D. McQuigg of NOAA’s Center for Climatic and Environmental Assessment, “is much more sensitive to the weather variable than it was even five years ago.” Furthermore, the growth of world population and creation of new national boundaries make it impossible for starving peoples to migrate from their devastated fields, as they did during past famines.
Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers, might create problems far greater than those they solve. But the scientists see few signs that government leaders anywhere are even prepared to take the simple measures of stockpiling food or of introducing the variables of climatic uncertainty into economic projections of future food supplies. The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality.
Melting the polar ice caps with black soot? Diverting rivers? These people were as crazy back then as they are today.
Notice that he talks about cooling as a crisis with disappearing food supplies. This is classic fearmongering environmentalism. In the current cooling period there is no evidence whatsoever that food supplies have diminished.
Anti-Trumpers Represent Government War on ‘the People’
The Democrat/media ‘war’ on president Trump is really a war on anyone who speaks for hard-working, tax-paying white people in America.
President Trump wants to “put America first” yet there are tens of millions of liberals in the United States who do not want this to happen.
They want to “put illegal immigrants first” despite the fact that white native-born Americans are suffering all across the country, particularly in rural areas that have historically suffered from high rates of poverty.
To show you how it works, look at this from John Binder at Breitbart News:
Wealthy cities and elite zip codes thrived under the slow-moving economic recovery of President Obama while rural American communities were left behind, a study reveals.
The Economic Innovation Group research… details the massive economic inequality between the country’s coastal city elites and middle America’s working class between the Great Recession in 2007 and Obama’s economic recovery in 2016.
Between 2007 and 2016, the number of residents living in elite zip codes grew by more than ten million, with an overwhelming faction of that population growth being driven by mass immigration where the U.S. imports more than 1.5 million illegal and legal immigrants annually…. The economic study found that while the population grew in wealthy cities, America’s rural population fell by nearly 3.5 million residents.
Likewise, by 2016, elite zip codes had a surplus of 3.6 million jobs, which is more than the combined bottom 80 percent of American zip codes. While it only took about five years for wealthy cities to replace the jobs lost by the recession, it took “at risk” regions of the country a decade to recover, and “distressed” U.S. communities are “unlikely ever to recover on current trendlines,” the report predicts.
And who elected president Trump? It was the discouraged and discriminated-against white people in rural and small-town America. Yet president Trump’s plan to Make America Great Again applies to citizens of any race, color or creed. He is improving the economy for all. In fact the rising stock market is most heavily benefitting wealthy Democrats.
Yet the Democrats hate Trump. They want to see high levels of unemployment, poverty and most importantly dependency on THEM (the government).
And just to show you once again how much Democrats are “the party of the rich”, here is the latest example from Fox News:
Hillary Clinton and her closest confidant Huma Abedin traveled to India this weekend to attend a lavish wedding hosted by the country’s richest family that has generously donated to the Clinton Foundation.
The former Democratic presidential candidate and her aide are attending a nearly weeklong celebration of the marriage of Isha Ambani, the 27-year-old daughter of Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest and the world’s 19th richest man whose wealth valued around $43 billion.
The presence of Clinton and Abedin is unsurprising since the bride’s father has been working with Clinton’s foundation for years, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to the controversial non-profit.
