Associated Press reported recently:
Cold temperatures can sap electric car batteries, temporarily reducing their range by more than 40 percent when interior heaters are used, a new study found.
The study of five electric vehicles by AAA also found that high temperatures can cut into battery range, but not nearly as much as the cold. The range returns to normal in more comfortable temperatures.
Many owners discovered the range limitations last week when much of the country was in the grips of a polar vortex. Owners of vehicles made by manufacturers including Tesla, the top-selling electric vehicle company in the U.S., complained on social media about reduced range and frozen door handles during the cold snap.
You can rest assured that most people did not know this bad news about electric cars… except people who read Nikitas3.com which reported on October 30, 2017 in a commentary called Electric Cars are a ‘Green’ Fraud about two huge drawbacks (out of many) of electric cars:
#7: Electric cars consume their own energy to heat the interior of the car. If you want to heat the interior of a gasoline car, you use waste heat from the engine. If you want to heat an electric car, it uses the car’s electrical charge, cutting the car’s driving range.
#8: Electric cars perform poorly in cold weather anyway since batteries lose their charge faster. A battery can lose half of its charge at zero degrees versus 80 degrees, and even more as it gets colder.
If we converted to an electric car and electric truck economy like the ‘greenies’ want, cold-weather states would suffer a huge blow economically since their energy supply would be significantly reduced compared to the warmer states.
At the same time Nikitas3.com did not even know that electric cars run poorly in very hot weather since that fact is also covered up by the ‘greenies’ and their media cronies.
Did you know that solar panel efficiency drops off significantly in very hot weather? This fact has emerged after the ‘greenies’ have told us for years that solar panels work great in sunny, hot places like Arizona.
These environmentalists are pathological liars. They have told us for decades that their “solutions” to our energy needs are flawless. They are not. Nikitas3.com believes that every one of their “solutions” actually creates many more problems than it solves.
So you should always read Nikitas3.com if you want to know what the rest of the media will not report.
But alas the kooks are demanding more ‘green’ nonsense far beyond electric cars and solar panels. This crazy left-wing congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez said that she wants to get rid of cars and airplanes altogether and put everyone on high-speed trains within 10 years(!?)
This is the most extreme type of insanity but is common among ‘greenies’, many of whom are outright lunatics. The whole idea of ‘green’ passenger trains is a farce. Nikitas3.com has reported repeatedly in the past that:
*’Greenie’ groups love to say that passenger trains are the most efficient means of travel. That is the opposite of the truth. They are usually the least efficient way to travel. A switch from air travel to passenger trains will result in a massive increase in energy consumption.
*Passenger trains are a 19th century technology that had no competition back then. Today, however, with many alternative ways to travel (cars, buses, airplanes) few passenger trains anywhere in the world make a profit; most passenger trains require significant government subsidies and use excessive amounts of energy per passenger.
*Europeans don’t use their passenger trains anywhere near as much as the American media want us to think they do. Europeans, like Americans, love to drive and to fly on their budget airlines. They also use intercity buses at high rates and at much lower ticket cost than trains (same in the US).
*Even people in poor nations are using air travel over passenger trains since air travel is cheaper, faster and more efficient than trains. Travelers are more than willing to pay for tickets that save the time and agony encountered in train travel in poor countries.
*An Amtrak train traveling from New Orleans to New York City requires 30 hours and needs 3 or more separate crews, all paid by the hour. An airplane on the same route needs less than three hours and a smaller crew. Thus it is no surprise that the plane ticket is often cheaper.
*Amtrak trains are very energy-INefficient and often run with low passenger loads (as low as 30%). They are very heavy and can weigh 5 to 15 times as much per passenger as a jetliner. After all jet passenger aircraft are designed to be lightweight and generally carry 90% to 100% passenger loads. This is why airliners are both energy efficient and cost efficient.
A New Orleans-to-New York Amtrak train can weigh more than 900 tons empty (that is the weight of the locomotives plus empty passenger cars). A Boeing 737 weighing 60 tons empty could carry the same number of passengers.
*Passenger trains, and particularly high-speed passenger trains, make a lot of noise, which is a form of pollution. Jet aircraft fly at 30,000 feet and thus we do not hear them for most of their trip.
*Amtrak trains often haul heavy dining cars, observation cars, sleeper cars, bar cars and baggage cars that cut fuel efficiency dramatically.
*Nikitas3.com has seen videos of European high-speed passenger trains running largely empty. This is a huge waste of energy since fast trains use a lot of extra energy in order to go fast.
*A Boeing 747 can carry 550 passengers and weighs 300 tons empty (these are average figures). And since modern-day turbofan jet engines are very efficient a 747 can be more than twice as fuel-efficient as a Toyota Prius – a 747 can get 100 miles per passenger per gallon while going ten times as fast as a Prius.
*Building a new high-speed train network in the US would require the construction of tens of thousands of miles of brand-new tracks in dedicated corridors. This would disrupt cities, towns, rural areas and suburbs all across America. This has happened all over Europe with its high-speed systems.
This American network would cost many trillions of dollars to build and there is no guarantee or likelihood whatsoever that paid ridership would fund the system in the way that ticket purchasers pay for airline operations.
In other words these passenger train systems would almost certainly remain wards of the taxpayer for their entire existence. That is why private companies will not invest in them.
*The California high-speed passenger train project has been bogged down in corruption and large cost overruns. It probably will be canceled after less than 10% of it has been built.
Update: The project has been officially canceled.
*Amtrak loses boatloads of money every year even though it generally does not even pay to build or maintain its own tracks. For instance the Amtrak route between Chicago and Seattle loses $80 million every year even though it runs on tracks owned and maintained by the busy and profit-making freight railroad BNSF. The Amtrak trip requires 44 hours and up to five crews. The plane trip takes four hours.
The Amtrak trains cause big delays in BNSF freight deliveries. This pushes up BNSF’s operating costs and is manifested in higher costs for products that are transported on BNSF, i.e., American consumers pay another subsidy for Amtrak operations in the form of higher costs for products delivered by BNSF.
Trump is Cracking Down on Sex Trafficking, Child Porn
You would never know it by reading the Fake News media but president Trump has ordered a crackdown on sex trafficking, child sex abuse and child pornography. There have been thousands of arrests since Trump took office.
The media is not reporting on this since most of the perverts are liberals, Democrats and leftists.
This situation can be compared to the MeToo movement. After Democrats have alleged for decades that conservatives and Republicans “hate women” almost all of the people being ensnared in the MeToo rape/abuse scandals are left-wingers like Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Rose, Al Franken, Garrison Keillor and many other Democrat actors, entertainers and media people.
In the same vein, it is being reported that more than 80% of the child-abusing priests in the Catholic church are homosexuals, even though homosexual males are only about 1% of the US population. This abuse has been going on for centuries. In many jurisdictions the crimes are being perpetrated exclusively by homosexuals.
But you will never hear about that in the Fake News media. It is always referred to as a “Catholic church scandal” but never a “homosexual scandal”.
Here is Fox News reporting on a recent string of sex trafficking arrests. You won’t read about this in the Fake News media like CNN since president Trump has ordered the crackdown and it is helping our nation.
The FBI announced Tuesday that 169 people were arrested in an operation targeting the threat of sex trafficking leading up to Super Bowl LIII.
The bureau announced in a press release that an 11-day sting beginning Jan. 23 resulted in the arrest of 26 alleged traffickers, 34 people accused of trying to engage in sex acts with minors, nine alleged juvenile sex-trafficking victims and nine more alleged adult victims.
“The operation’s goal was to raise awareness about sex trafficking by proactively addressing that threat during the Super Bowl and events leading up to the Super Bowl,” the press release read. “Sex trafficking is not just a problem during large-scale events, it is a 365-day-a-year problem in communities all across the country.”
The FBI’s Violent Crimes Against Children/Human Trafficking Program and Metro Atlanta Child (MATCH) Task Force worked alongside 25 local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to carry out the arrests.
FBI Special Agent Taylor Dervish told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that major events like the Super Bowl bring in a lot of people, money and crime – increasing the odds of people willing to pay for sex.
Good. And thank you president Trump. Another job well done.
John McCain’s Wife is a Liar, Like He Was
Nikitas3.com has been a vocal critic of the late US senator John McCain. I pointed out in this commentary that he was a liar and a charlatan.
Now we have proof that his wife is a liar too. Fox News reports:
Cindy McCain, the widow of the late Arizona Sen. John McCain, apologized Wednesday after Phoenix police disputed her claim that she stopped a human trafficking attempt at an airport.
“I commend the police officers for their diligence. I apologize if anything else I have said on this matter distracts from ‘if you see something, say something,’” McCain wrote on Twitter.
Her apology came after city’s authorities refuted McCain’s claim on Monday that she saw a child being trafficked at the Sky Harbor International Airport last week.
“I came in from a trip I’d been on and I spotted — it looked odd — it was a woman of a different ethnicity than the child, this little toddler she had, and something didn’t click with me,” McCain told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
“I went over to the police and told them what I saw, and they went over and questioned her, and, by God, she was trafficking that kid,” she added, noting that the woman was “waiting for the guy who bought the child to get off an airplane.”
But police said on Wednesday that McCain’s claims weren’t correct and there was no attempt at human trafficking.
Sgt. Armando Carbajal told KTAR that after officers investigated the matter promptly at the request of McCain, including running a welfare check on a child, they found “no evidence of criminal conduct or child endangerment.”
John McCain spent his entire life aggrandizing himself and lying about himself. Now his wife is doing it. It is shameful but then again this type of self-centered behavior is contagious and people who engage in it are attracted to each other.
Apple Wouldn’t Aid War on Terror but Helps Deep State Prosecute a Conservative
The Apple computer company is another arm of the computer/ media/ government complex that hates conservatives. The Gateway Pundit reported:
Three years after Apple refused to give the federal government access to the devices used by the San Bernardino terrorists who killed and injured dozens in a mass shooting event (in December 2015), the company has given the office of the Special Counsel complete access to Trump advisor Roger Stone’s iCloud account, reports Apple Insider.
According to the Washington Post, Apple objected to giving the federal government backdoor access to the (San Bernardino) shooters iPhones, claiming it would “set a dangerous precedent.”
“From the beginning, we objected to the FBI’s demand that Apple build a backdoor into the iPhone because we believed it was wrong and would set a dangerous precedent. As a result of the government’s dismissal, neither of these occurred. This case should never have been brought.”
Fast forward to present, and we see that Apple no longer seems to have the same privacy concerns it once did in 2015. Without any fight, they simply turned over (longtime conservative activist) Roger Stone’s iCloud passwords and God knows what else, because (Apple hates president Trump). The fact that Apple views a political persecution less of a hill to die on than protecting the rights of terrorists who killed and maimed dozens of Americans is quite telling.

Which makes us wonder… what exactly was Apple threatened with by Robert Mueller and the Office of the Special Counsel for them to abandon their firm stance against turning over user data and access to federal investigators? Surely they didn’t reason that two mass shooters were more deserving of their tough stand against government overreach and backdoor programs? There must be some explanation as to how they could give the federal government the power to access our privately held devices and accounts at will right?
