National Emergency has been Used Many Times Before

February 14, 2019 will be remembered for a major story, with news leaking out that president Trump has decided to declare a national emergency in order to fund The Wall on the Mexican border. And indeed that has come to pass.

The president is being very bold, as he always has done. He is not going to be bullied by Democrats and the media over an issue of national security importance. They will scream about the national emergency for a few days and then the issue will be overridden by other news stories. You should watch for this to happen.

President Trump is declaring the emergency to finally get The Wall built with up to $8 billion, or maybe more, taken from other areas of US military funding. In short he is shifting already-allocated federal money from one area to another to build The Wall, not spending extra money by going around Congress.

Democrats are squealing over the emergency and already threatening that they will use emergency powers when they get the White House back, which predicts will happen in January 2025 at the very earliest, and possibly later.

National emergencies are nothing new. Conservative Tribune reports:

As it turns out, there are currently 31 ongoing national emergencies over which the president wields certain authorities, the first of which has been in existence since 1979 and is one of only two emergencies declared by Carter.

There were a total of six national emergencies during former President Ronald Reagan’s tenure, as well as four more during the administration of former President George H.W. Bush, all of which have ended.

Former President Bill Clinton declared 17 national emergencies — six of which remain in effect — while former President George W. Bush declared 12 national emergencies, of which 10 remain ongoing.

Then we get to former President Barack Obama, who declared 13 national emergencies, 11 of which continue to this day. Thus far, President Trump has declared three active and ongoing national emergencies.

It is important to note that president Trump is not using this declaration to change any laws, curtail freedoms or implement emergency legal powers, for instance to detain illegal immigrants or deport them.

He is using the emergency declaration simply to shift money around. This is hardly a reason to deny the national emergency, and predicts that the Supreme Court will side with the president.

In short Trump appears to be flushing Democrats down the drain once again, and this is a good moment to reflect on yet another Trump political victory, which is this:

Whenever Democrats and their media friends think that Trump has been defeated – like when he signed the bill to re-open the government and they said that he had ‘caved’ to the Democrats – you should always think two steps ahead, as Trump always does.

This is what is driving liberals insane. President Trump is not affected by public pressure. He is not afraid of the media. He is doing what he thinks is best for the country and that is a very good thing and a powerful force.

Just think – six months ago hardly anyone was even talking about The Wall. Yet starting today, February 15, 2019 the final steps are being taken to have The Wall funded and built. Amazing.

This is what is called leadership, and president Trump is truly a leader. He is not just another Swamp Dweller president keeping the seat warm for the status quo. He truly is shaking up Washington and setting a tone for future leaders.

Not only is the president going to get The Wall – or whatever type of barrier that is deemed appropriate, like an impenetrable, 30-foot tall steel fence – but the debate that he has inspired is going to take down the Democrats and, believes, get Trump re-elected in 2020.

If you want to see how this issue is pushing Democrat to the extreme take a look at this shocking exchange between MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and Democrat mouthpiece Robert ‘Beto’ O’Rourke of Texas about the existing border wall at El Paso, Texas:

Hayes: “If you could, would you take the wall down now? Knock it down?”
O’Rourke: “Yes, absolutely. I would take the wall down.”

Friends, the radical Democrats like O’Rourke are now taking over the party. This promise to not only not fund The Wall but to remove the existing border barriers is going to bring down the Democrat party.

This will lead president Trump to run in 2020 on two main issues – securing the border and significantly improving the economy. These are winning issues. Voters are going to be spooked by the brazenly open-borders Democrats.

You can also be sure that this vow to tear down the border wall is going to become a new political “litmus test” for Democrats. And it gets worse; after the new parts of The Wall are completed the Democrats will run on a pledge to tear the whole Wall down. This will lead to the election of president Pence in 2024.

And you can rest assured that any Democrat who does not sign on the pledge to tear down the wall is going to be ostracized from the new and more militant Democrat party.
