Ocasio-Cortez May be Defeated for 2020 Re-election

Democrat New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who first took office just seven weeks ago, has been hogging the headlines. She recently proposed a militant Green New Deal and then helped to defeat Amazon’s plan to bring 25,000 high-paying jobs to the Queens section of New York City.

Thus even people within her own party are becoming frightened of her extremist views. They know that a clear majority of American voters rejects Cortez’ way of thinking. But she is fearlessly forging forth. Here is an excerpt from Breitbart News:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) warned the Democratic Party establishment Friday that supporters of the socialist Green New Deal are now “in charge.”

“If you don’t like the #GreenNewDeal, then come up with your own ambitious, on-scale proposal to address the global climate crisis,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a social media post.

“Until then, we’re in charge – and you’re just shouting from the cheap seats”:

So the battle lines are being drawn as Democrats in the party establishment like Feinstein, the Clintons, Obamas, Schumer, Pelosi, Biden and all the rest who have been in office for decades suddenly are finding themselves in the crosshairs of an egotistical upstart who just got elected.

These establishment liberals obviously don’t want to be muscled out of their own party and just as importantly they don’t want to see four more years of Trump. But this is where Cortez may be taking them with an aggressive agenda that may and will push voters into Trump’s camp.

And thus while no Republican could defeat Cortez in her very liberal district Nikitas3.com predicts that she will get a Democrat primary challenge for her first congressional re-election bid in 2020 and that she could lose her seat.

Nikitas3.com believes that that primary challenger will be a candidate backed by the Democrat establishment who is considered capable of ousting her like Joe Crowley. He served in Congress for 20 years but lost his seat to Cortez in a June 2018 primary contest.

Cortez’ job approval among Democrats is falling daily, making her vulnerable. Many people in New York City, and in Cortez’ own district, badly wanted the Amazon deal and are very angry at her.

This is causing huge blowback for Cortez even in New York, which she certainly did not expect. Even the city’s mayor, who is far to the left, is angry while New York state’s ultra-leftist governor Andrew Cuomo is also furious as his state deals with newly-emerging and very serious budget problems. The loss of 25,000 guaranteed jobs and tens of billions in benefits for the city and state could not have come at a worse time.

We have seen decades of major conflicts within the Republican party between conservatives and the mainstream GOP. In case you don’t know or remember many in the Republican ‘establishment’ detested conservative president Ronald Reagan just as they hate Trump today.

But we conservatives are rational people who want a strong economy, a secure border, fair trade, fair elections, respect for the law and a strong military, and Trump and Reagan gave us all of it.

Cortez and her followers, in contrast, are a new generation of radical Democrats that is not rational. They are anti-business and they want open borders, a monstrous and bureaucratic Green New Deal that will strangle the American economy, free college, free health care, free child care, abortion on demand at any stage, etc., etc.

And you can rest assured that the Democrat party establishment is terrified that extremist socialist Bernie Sanders, who inspired Cortez in the first place, will get the presidential nomination for 2020 and that Trump will be handily re-elected as a result (which Nikitas3.com is predicting anyway).

Democrats remember 1972 when the party’s primary voters picked a very liberal US senator named George McGovern to try and unseat incumbent Republican president Richard Nixon. Democrat leaders warned that McGovern was too liberal and unelectable and lo and behold Nixon went on to win 49 out of 50 electoral states and 61% of the popular vote.

If Cortez is voted out of Congress in 2020 you might think that that would harm her political stature. But not necessarily. She is clearly a celebrity on the far left and she would be able to work outside of political office with many fewer restraints on her tactics and fundraising.

Thus Democrats are facing a real crisis as soon as 2020. As Trump racks up victory after victory on the economy, immigration, trade and foreign policy Democrats are moving farther and farther to the left, making it more and more likely that Trump will be re-elected.

And it is not just Cortez who is taking them to the fringe; her militant cabal includes two new muslim congresswomen, an extremist Democrat party chairman named Tom Perez, and tens of thousands of officeholders across the nation like the black Nebraska state senator who recently called the US flag a “rag” and compared it to a swastika. This type of incendiary and militant rhetoric is becoming more and more common among Democrats.

Thus it appears that Democrats are on the verge of throwing away the possibility of unseating Trump.

Even worse, it is frightening how little Cortez knows about economics even though she has a degree in economics from Boston University. Everything she says is coming under scrutiny and her ignorance is being exposed every day.

In short president Trump has driven the Democrats so crazy with rage that they are massively overplaying their political hand in response to him and presenting a chaotic and reactionary agenda based on decades of left-wing mythology.

This not only is strengthening Trump but it could lead to big victories for Republicans nationwide in 2020 not only for the presidency, but in the US Senate, House and in state legislatures across the nation.

Meanwhile there is a parallel story from the state of Connecticut where years of corrupt Democrat rule have ruined the state’s finances.

Here is a story from Breitbart News about the newly-elected left-wing Democrat governor who is brazenly ignoring any sense of moderation or compromise just as Cortez is doing on the national level:

Newly installed Connecticut Democrat Gov. Ned Lamont is already reneging on his campaign pledge to place tolls only on trucks on the state’s roads.

In a budget speech Wednesday that left voters reeling, Lamont, a telecommunications entrepreneur who campaigned as a businessman who knew how to reverse the state’s financial crisis, mapped out his plans to bring Connecticut back from the brink of near-bankruptcy – but none of them involved cutting spending.

In fact, the Democrat proposed increased spending as he also pushed for at least 53 electronic overhead toll gantries across what is the third smallest state in the United States – for all cars and trucks. In addition, Lamont called for expanded sales taxes on dozens of new items and services as well as new taxes on sugary drinks, a surcharge on plastic bags, and a $15 minimum wage.

“He took one of his most fundamental campaign promises – that he wasn’t going to put up tolls on cars – and he lied to the taxpayers and he lied to the voters,” said (2018) Republican gubernatorial nominee Bob Stefanowski.

And to show how bad things have gotten in a very wealthy state like Connecticut, Breitbart continued:

… Connecticut has projected budget deficits of $1.5 billion and $2.2 billion in the next two years, the Hartford Courant reported, adding the governor’s budget “is built largely around new revenue and limited growth. He called for spending increases of 1.7 percent in the first year and 3.4 percent in the second year.”

In 2016, a study from George Mason University’s Mercatus Center found Connecticut ranked as the state in the worst fiscal condition, second only to Puerto Rico, and owing largely to its massive debt obligations and unfunded liabilities.

Connecticut, according to Truth in Accounting, is also considered a “sinkhole state”, without enough assets to cover its debt. The state ranked in September as number 49 for fiscal health in the nation, with only New Jersey ranking below it.

Thus the governor of Connecticut, after less than 2 months in office, is shoving his toll plan back down the throats of voters, along with much of the aggressive Cortez/Sanders agenda. This is another example of how Democrats are going to the arrogant extreme and thinking nothing of it.

There already is a Recall Ned Lamont Facebook page. Watch this situation closely. It is going to be very interesting. Lamont won in 2018 by only 3 points. He is vulnerable to a recall election just as Cortez is vulnerable in 2020.
