Chappaquiddick 50 Yrs. Later/ Trump Administration in Flux

Today, July 18, 2019 is the 50th anniversary of one of the most famous political incidents in US history.

Late on the night of July 18, 1969 the car of ultra-liberal Democrat US senator Ted Kennedy careened off a small bridge on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts and plunged into the waters of Poucha Pond.

Kennedy survived allegedly by swimming to safety but his passenger Mary Jo Kopechne died in the submerged car.

The whole accident is shrouded in mystery as is almost everything that surrounds the Kennedy family including two assassinations. It is assumed that Kennedy was driving the car but that may not even be true; Kopechne may have been driving alone in the car.

In any event Kennedy tried to conceal the accident since he was married at the time and he only reported it to police the next morning after the car had been discovered.

Kennedy was desperate to cover up the accident since he was planning to run for president of the United States someday.

Kennedy pleaded guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing personal injury and later received a two-month suspended jail sentence.

Kennedy gave an “explanation” for the accident in a televised speech but most Americans didn’t believe him. This permanently scarred him.

Kennedy served 40 more years in the US Senate until his death in 2009. If he had been a Republican and a non-Kennedy he would have been run out of the Senate.

This accident marked the end of the ‘Kennedy dynasty’ in American politics. While John F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960 and served two years and nine months in office until he was assassinated on November 22, 1963, his brother Robert was also assassinated in 1968 as he prepared to run for president and then Ted Kennedy had Chappaquiddick one year later.

Subsequent Kennedy generations have not been predisposed to presidential politics. The only likely aspirant to the White House might have been president Kennedy’s son John Jr. but he died in a plane crash on July 16, 1999 at the age of 38.

Chappaquiddick really was an allegory for the Kennedy family and for Ted Kennedy whose life was marred by scandal. He was caught cheating at Harvard and expelled. He almost died in a plane crash in 1964. He was an alcoholic. His wife was an alcoholic. He was out partying with his nephew in Florida when his nephew was charged with rape. And on and on.

In other words the entire Kennedy legacy is a dubious affair. Meanwhile the whole Kennedy-loving media have done everything possible to harm president Trump and have failed. And that speaks volumes.

Trump Administration Constantly in Flux; Nobody Cares

President Trump’s labor secretary resigned on July 12. Alex Acosta had come under fire for his role in the Jeffrey Epstein case. The Fake News media acted like this was another step in the fall of the president.

Except that Acosta’s resignation was a brief media blip and already is being forgotten just as the constant coming-and-going in the Trump administration is an ongoing story that the public does not care about. It seems like an administration secretary, official or advisor quits, is forced out or resigns every few weeks.

There is a reason for this – Trump is a tough boss. He means business and those who don’t play ball are shown the door. Or tossed out through it. Fine.

Trump’s first secretary of state was retired ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson. was pleased with the choice of Tillerson since he was not an elite diplomatic type but an oil company executive who had decades of hands-on experience dealing with people in many nations at all levels. Tillerson had worked his way up in the oil business from a civil engineer with Exxon in 1975 to chief of ExxonMobil.

But as secretary of state Tillerson was out of synch with Trump policies and thus he was dumped by the president on March 13, 2018.

So big deal. We now have a much better secretary of state in Mike Pompeo. And truth be told most Americans are not interested in the day-to-day trials and tribulations of the president and are disgusted with the horrible media treatment that he gets. Increasing numbers of Americans are seeing president Trump as a strong leader – enough to re-elect him easily, believes.

The fact is that president Trump doesn’t even need all of these cabinet secretaries, advisors and hangers-on to get the job done. He doesn’t even need speech writers most of the time. He just wings it.

In short, he basically does the job himself; that’s what he has done his whole life as a businessman. And this is what enrages the Washington Swamp Dwellers who think that leadership is a matter of putting on a good show, acting presidential and being a team player in the DC political game.

President Trump is a totally different animal. He does not care what other presidents have done. He does not care what is normal behavior. He does not care what the Fake News media think. He knows what he wants to do and he is doing it. And that is why the country is on such a positive track – because we have a focused, motivated president with a clear agenda.

You can be sure that Trump is secretly admired by leaders all around the world. After all he is the most famous man on the planet and a highly successful president. This is why foreign leaders who meet him are respectful even if they disagree with him politically.

They wish that they were as famous and effective as he is. They see themselves as bland and powerless in comparison. They feel his commanding presence. You can see it when he meets them in the White House. They seem like mere props compared to Trump’s dominant persona including his towering physical size.

Look at the US economy. It is doing great and it is steadily improving. So do Americans care about Alex Acosta, a cabinet secretary whom most have never heard of, or the great economy, which affects us all?

It’s the economy. And this is all that we need to know as we head into 2020. Meanwhile the media and Democrats, who claim that they are experts at controlling what we know, have so overplayed their hand with their incessant attacks on president Trump that it is turning into a big backfire.

President Trump is going to ask voters whom they trust more – himself and the great economy or the Fake News media. And the answer is going to be overwhelmingly “Trump!”

This president has broken every rule of politics and believes that his re-election is in the bag.

But this does not stop the ankle-biters in Washington and in the media from nipping at the president’s heels over everything that he does. Because that is all that these small people know how to do … nip, nip, nip.

Democrats are bad enough but one of the worst ankle-biters is a Republican – the former speaker of the House Paul Ryan who ran as the vice presidential candidate with Mitt Romney in 2012.

Romney/Ryan lost that campaign that they easily could have won if they had had half of the courage and panache of Donald Trump.

Ryan then resigned from the House in 2018 at the height of his power. This shows Ryan as weak. At the same time the mass retirement of 55 Republican congressmen in 2018 certainly led to the Democrat takeover of Congress. And Ryan led the retirements.

Yet after quitting like the coward that he is Ryan has taken out after president Trump in a new book. Can you believe it?

Ryan should keep his big RINO mouth shut. President Trump saved the Republican party by defeating Hillary Clinton in 2016 and is saving our nation with his economic and foreign policies.

In short Ryan is a RINO loser like so many other Republicans who are or were totally jealous of president Trump’s success like Mitt Romney, John McCain, Jeff Flake, Bob Corker, Justin Amash, Jeb Bush, George W. Bush. And on and on.

Joshua Caplan at Breitbart News reported:

An upcoming book reveals former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) has returned to attacking President Donald Trump’s character, taking particular offense to his dismissive nickname for pornographic actress Stormy Daniels.

Politico Magazine’s Tim Alberta writes in American Carnage: On the Front Lines of the Republican Civil War and the Rise of President Trump that Ryan “Now out of office and trading in his power suits for a blue vest” is once again criticizing the president and “saw retirement as the ‘escape hatch,’” according to an excerpt obtained by the Washington Post.

“We’ve gotten so numbed by it all,” Ryan said. “Not in government, but where we live our lives, we have a responsibility to try and rebuild. Don’t call a woman a ‘horse face.’ Don’t cheat on your wife. Don’t cheat on anything. Be a good person. Set a good example.”

OK, so who says Trump cheated on his wife? There is no proof whatsoever that he did so. That is Fake News like the Russia collusion hoax which we were all assured was absolutely true.

Set a good example? It is Ryan who has set a poor example by quitting Congress when he should have stayed to help the president improve the nation.

Imagine that… millions of illegal aliens flood into the country, drug abuse is killing Americans by the tens of thousands every year, our public schools are a disaster, the economy was a disaster under Obama and Ryan is worried that president Trump called a slutty porn star “horseface”. This is typical of how insignificant Ryan is. He has nothing to hang his hat on. He is finished. He already is being forgotten. Breitbart News reported:

The book details how Ryan was frustrated with the president’s approach to governing.

“I told myself I gotta have a relationship with this guy to help him get his mind right,” (Ryan) recounted. “Because, I’m telling you, he didn’t know anything about government… I wanted to scold him all the time.”

“Those of us around him really helped to stop him from making bad decisions. All the time,” he continued. “We helped him make much better decisions, which were contrary to kind of what his knee-jerk reaction was. Now I think he’s making some of these knee-jerk reactions.”

President Trump, according to the book, is largely dismissive of Ryan’s attacks, often referring to him as a “f***ing Boy Scout.”

OK, so Ryan says that Trump didn’t know anything about government. Yet Trump has been massively effective by ignoring all the stupid rules of professional politicians like Paul Ryan.

As for Trump calling Ryan “a f***ing Boy Scout”, there is no proof anywhere that he said that. But this is how they constantly go after Trump with hearsay allegations. Breitbart News reported:

It’s no secret that President Trump and Ryan shared an uneasy relationship. In an interview with the Daily Caller, the president blamed the Wisconsin Republican for failing secure funding from Congress to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Well, I was going to veto the omnibus bill and Paul told me in the strongest of language, ‘Please don’t do that, we’ll get you the wall.’ And I said, ‘I hope you mean that, because I don’t like this bill,’” the president told the outlet.

“Paul told me in the strongest of terms that, ‘Please sign this and if you sign this we will get you that wall.’ Which is desperately needed by our country. Humanitarian crisis, trafficking, drugs, you know, everything — people, criminals, gangs, so, you know, we need the wall,” he added. “And then he went lame duck.”

So who is the effective, world-renowned leader and who is the cheap by-the-book politician who is quickly fading into obscurity?

The answer is obvious. Meanwhile Trump added this about Ryan:

“People like….Paul Ryan almost killed the Republican Party. Weak, ineffective & stupid are not exactly the qualities that Republicans, or the CITIZENS of our Country, were looking for. Right now our spirit is at an all time high, far better than the Radical Left Dems. You’ll see next year!”
