China Trade Deal Signed!/ Dems Want to Disrupt Suburbs/ Euro Passenger Train Hoax

The Washington Examiner reported:

President Trump on Wednesday signed “phase one” of a trade deal with Beijing, giving the president a partial victory on one of the main economic policy efforts of his administration. China is expected to purchase more than $200 billion in U.S. goods and services as part of the deal.

“Together, we are righting the wrongs of the past and delivering a future of economic justice and security,” Trump said at a White House signing event with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He. “Our negotiations were tough, honest and respectful, leading to this breakthrough.”

… Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Wednesday that finishing the first part would put pressure on China to address the remaining issues in order to get the U.S. tariffs lifted. “The first step is really focusing on enforcement, but this gives China a big incentive to get back to the table and agree to the additional issues that are still unresolved,” he told CNBC.

The White House has claimed that “phase one” covered many of the trade disputes that originally led the Trump administration and many in Congress to favor a confrontation with China, such as financial services, currency manipulation, intellectual property rights, and forced transfers of technology, among other subjects. The fine print of the deal is set to be made public today following the signing, according to White House officials.

Friends, this deal is yet another huge victory for Trump, the first president in 50 years to stand up to the economic treachery of the communists in China.

The Fake News media said for months that the failure to reach this deal was going to destroy the American economy and the stock market, that China would never give in, that this was a shot in the dark for Trump. Yet the Dow Jones stock market average had hit historic highs as the deal was being worked out, i.e., the markets had total faith in Trump.

And in the long run our economic position vis-a-vis China will be greatly strengthened and the US will benefit greatly.

Trump wins again! We should all offer a word of thanks to the president for keeping yet another promise. No other American leader would have stood up for American interests. If Hillary Clinton had been elected in 2016 she would be holding photo-op meetings with Chinese leaders and doing absolutely nothing to rein in China’s brazenly manipulative trade policies.

After Congress approved the trade deal with Canada and Mexico, president Trump is on a roll. The world is finally seeing that America has a real “leader” and not just another “president” who is going to do politics as usual.

Democrats Want to Disrupt the Suburbs

The Daily Caller reported about a Democrat state representative in Virginia:

Virginia state delegate Ibraheem Samirah introduced a bill that would override local zoning officials to permit multi-family housing in every neighborhood, changing the character of quiet suburbs.
Oregon passed a similar bill, following moves by cities such as Minneapolis; Austin, Texas; and Seattle.

Proponents say … that suburbs are bastions of racial segregation.

(If the bill becomes law) Democrats in Virginia may override local zoning to bring high-density housing, including public housing, to every neighborhood statewide — whether residents want it or not.

The measure could quickly transform the suburban lifestyle enjoyed by millions, permitting duplexes to be built on suburban lots in neighborhoods previously consisting of quiet streets and open green spaces. Proponents of “upzoning” say the changes are necessary because suburbs are bastions of segregation and elitism, as well as bad for the environment.

The move, which aims to provide “affordable housing,” might be fiercely opposed by local officials throughout the state, who have deliberately created and preserved neighborhoods with particular character — some dense and walkable, others semi-rural and private — to accommodate people’s various preferences.

OK, friends, this is scary stuff and is yet another destructive idea for “social engineering” from the Democrat left, i.e., after poor ‘minorities’ destroy their own neighborhoods, the liberal solution is to move them into stable white neighborhoods and let them continue their destruction.

Imagine that you are white and educated and that you have worked hard for years to buy a nice home in a safe, white suburban neighborhood with good schools for your kids. And that the Democrats then build a low-income housing project on your street.

This would bring hordes of poor blacks, hispanics and muslims into your neighborhood who have nowhere near the intelligence and discipline that you do. This would increase crime and traffic, ruin your property values and introduce a flood of disruptive minority children into your kids’ schools. Some muslim kids may even express their desire to kill white Christians, as one muslim child did recently in Britain.

And don’t think that it cannot happen in your neighborhood under the plan in Virginia. Local and state governments could simply buy up a number of houses on your street under eminent domain, bulldoze the houses and put up a low-income apartment building. And you could do absolutely nothing about it.

Such a project would impact a wide area as well, over many streets and neighborhoods and schools. This is exactly what the Democrats want to do. This proposal is not about equity or racial equality. It is intended to disrupt and destroy stable, white neighborhoods and to harm the people in them by deeming those people “racist”.

This plan is a socialist feint. It will do nothing to genuinely help the poor people but will drag down the diligent white people who earned their way into the nice neighborhoods.

Nikitas3.com has seen this idea in action in a different way. On one street in my town in Massachusetts – one of the nicest streets in town with just 18 houses on a quiet, dead-end street – a taxpayer-funded social service agency purchased one of the houses and converted it to a nursing home for four brain-damaged women.

There is an enormous amount of traffic going to that place at all hours of the day and night. There are usually three or four cars parked in front, often on the street and not in the driveway, whereas street residents park in their driveways. Nikitas3.com recently saw EIGHT cars parked out front, in the driveway and on the street.

And there is nothing that the residents on the street can do about it; the nursing home comes under federal anti-discrimination law that supports people with “disabilities”.

If you want to see another way that this Virginia plan might work out, you should visit Nikitas3.com’s hometown in Massachusetts. This city was 99.5% white in the 1950s and had a General Electric plant employing 14,000 people. Prosperity and stability were everywhere.

But after decades of strikes and other labor actions, the Democrat-allied labor unions drove the GE plant out in 1988. The town has since spiraled down into poverty and decay. Young, skilled and educated white people have departed in droves while poor blacks have moved in from various Northeastern cities by the thousands bringing crime, drugs, murder, stabbings, illegitimacy and other violent behavior, including gangs. The schools have seen a surge in bad and violent behavior. An MS-13 gang member was arrested in the city in 2018.

In one case a local church gave housing to two poor black mothers who bought THIRTEEN children between them to the city from Trenton, NJ… and no fathers, of course.

The Virginia legislation was proposed by state House delegate Ibraheem Samirah, a Democrat and a muslim. His parents were Palestinian refugees. Samirah is also a dentist. He has only been in the state government since February 2019 and so he wasted no time in seeking to implement the most radical agenda possible, which Democrats are doing nationwide.

This shows how muslims are coming to the US from their backward countries and then seeking to upend hundreds of years of American economic progress and tradition with the most radical socialist ideas.

Samirah said: “Single-family housing zones would become two-zoned. Areas that would be impacted most would be the suburbs that have not done their part in helping out.”

“The real issues are the areas … which are single-family zoned. Those are the areas that the state is having significant trouble dealing with. They’re living in a bubble.”

This is pure intellectual arrogance that Samirah certainly learned during his college and dental education. And we could hope that one of these low-income apartment buildings gets built on Samirah’s street. But it never will be. Because Democrats target these programs to hurt other people, and not Democrats, and particularly not Democrat officeholders.

They would certainly go through the voter list and pick a street or a neighborhood or a district with a lot of registered Republicans for their low-income project. This is how they will use government to target and harm Republicans and conservatives.

Samirah added that suburbs were “mostly white and wealthy” and that local officials in charge of zoning were hot helping out poor people.

Look at this hypocrisy. After decades in which blacks, hispanics and muslims have ruthlessly impugned white Americans, all three groups desperately want to live among white Americans in white suburbs, totally disproving their thesis that white people are racist and evil. Nikitas3.com has seen this many times in my town where a single black person or family will eagerly move into an all-white neighborhood without thinking twice.

So here is Nikitas3.com’s advice for these poor “minority” people – fix your own neighborhoods instead of abandoning them after you have ruined them and taking your problems elsewhere like into stable white neighborhoods.

Samirah lives in the northern suburbs of Virginia next to Washington, DC which are populated overwhelmingly by high-paid and very liberal federal government workers.

Update: This idea is spreading. The Daily Caller reported:

A Maryland legislator wants to identify affluent suburban neighborhoods and target them for low-income, high-density housing.

House Del. Vaughn Stewart, a Democrat, wrote Jan. 3 that he will introduce “Homes for All” legislation that would “legalize the construction of modest homes in neighborhoods close to affluent schools, reliable transit, and good jobs.”

“For too long, local governments have weaponized zoning codes to block people of color and the working class from high-opportunity neighborhoods, pushing them to the crumbling margins of cities and towns. We must act boldly to reverse decades of these exclusionary policies,” he wrote.

Another Euro Passenger Train Myth Busted

For decades Americans have been lectured about the wonders of European passenger trains. This is a myth. Passenger trains are an outdated 19th century technology.

In this 2016 commentary called Myths about US, European Passenger Trains Exposed, Nikitas3.com explodes many of the common myths about passenger trains worldwide.

But liberals are somehow obsessed with passenger trains when we have something 10 times better – our airlines that pay for themselves with speed and efficiency. Passenger trains, on the other hand, need massive government subsidies.

And to prove the myth about Euro passenger trains once again Nikitas3.com recently watched a video shot from the cab of a French passenger train going from Paris to the city of Tours, which is 120 miles. The train was traveling on a double-track, high-speed main line at as much as 130 MPH.

In the 2 hour and 22 minute video, which included several stops along the way, Nikitas3.com did not see one single passenger train coming on the other track from the other direction headed toward Paris. This video, and many like it that Nikitas3.com has watched, proves that there is very little important traffic on most of Europe’s passenger train lines. If the Paris-Tours line were really busy and essential you would see trains coming every 5 minutes.

I previewed through thumbnails, and watched parts of another 4-hour video of a train ride from Toulouse to Paris at speeds up to 200 MPH on one of France’s TGV (very high speed) lines and saw just one passenger train coming from the other direction. Yet if you travel on the French interstate-type highways you may see cars coming at you every few seconds, even multiple cars.

These videos alone expose the myth of European passenger trains. These trains are nowhere even vaguely as crucial to European transportation as we are led to believe; they often carry very small passenger loads; and they are inefficient, energy-inefficient and very expensive to operate. They survive on huge taxpayer subsidies often paid by Euro motorists in the form of sky-high gasoline taxes (more than $3 per gallon in some places in Europe).

Spain’s very-high-speed AVE passenger train network has the lowest use rate in the world and is a massive boondoggle for Spanish taxpayers because of its astronomical cost. It also is an environmental disaster with new rail corridors rammed through peaceful rural areas and small towns, and high-energy consumption for the fast trains.

It gets worse. Noise is a form of pollution and these high-speed trains make A LOT of noise that can be heard for miles around, a high-pitched shrieking sound often accompanying a roar like a jet airplane flying too low. The faster these trains go, the more noise they make.

Even if you live near low-speed freight train tracks in the US you know how noisy trains can be. Repeat: Noise is a form of pollution! If you want to hear how loud these fast European trains are, watch just one minute of this video. Turn up the volume on your headphones – you’ll get the point. Yet ‘greenies’ claim that these trains are good for the environment. What a hoax.

But none of this matters to the socialist and environmentalist train fanatics who shove these monsters down our throats, and the politicians who take credit for them. Spain’s 2,000 mile system is a huge money waster and an energy waster too with very low passenger loads. In 2016, El Pais reported that one in four AVE stations was being used by fewer than 100 passengers a day. Yet the Spaniards are expanding AVE as we speak.

Railway-technology.com reported on October 25, 2018:

In 2015, FEDEA revealed … that multi-billion euro investments made on the AVE high-speed network were “neither beneficial to business nor society” and did not do enough to attract passengers who would otherwise travel by air or by road.

Indeed the number of passengers actually using Spain’s high-speed rail service is far lower than other countries. According to FEDEA, in 2015 there were just under 12,000 passengers per kilometre of high-speed rail in Spain, compared with 61,400 passengers in France and 158,121 passengers per kilometre in Japan.

If you watch videos of European high-speed passenger trains, as Nikitas3.com has in my research, you will often see many empty seats. But you also you will notice small numbers of seats in each car. This is supposed to show how luxurious the trains are with lots of room for passengers. But these ample seating arrangements are disastrous for the trains’ finances, i.e., fewer paying customers per car.

This is precisely why airlines make money and passenger trains need big taxpayer subsidies – because airlines cram many passengers onto each plane and cover much more territory much more quickly than trains. In other words, airplanes are modern and useful while passenger trains are an outdated 19th century technology living off of taxpayer subsidies.

Europe’s passenger train boondoggle is not limited to high-speed main lines. There are tens of thousands of miles of single-track branch lines all over Europe serving rural areas, small towns and very few passengers. These lines were established in the early days of railroading when there was no alternative form of transport except horses and buggies that could only cover short distances. These tracks are very costly to maintain and the trains are very expensive to operate. They all should be pulled out of service.

Americans are smart. That’s why we don’t have high-speed trains except in a limited and densely-populated 237-mile corridor along the East Coast between New York City and Washington, DC. But even that section loses money once all costs are accounted for.

California started to build a high-speed train to connect Los Angeles and San Francisco but the project was scrapped for being way too expensive. Nikitas3.com had labeled it a fiasco when it was first proposed.
