The actor Robert De Niro recently made a comment about Michelle Obama.
Speaking at an Obama fundraiser about potential GOP nominees taking the White House, he said: "Callista Gingrich, Karen Santorum, Ann Romney. Now do you really think our country is ready for a white first lady? Too soon, right?"
If a conservative had said “too soon for a black first lady” he would have been drawn and quartered and relegated to the ash heap of history.
This comment is what liberals like De Niro think is acceptable – anti-white racism.
And you might think that De Niro apologized. Because he issued a statement that said: "My remarks, although spoken with satirical jest, were not meant to offend or embarrass anyone – especially the first lady.”
Boy, there’s a real liberal apology. Because notice that there is no apology. And he’s directing his non-apology primarily to Michelle Obama and “anyone”.
How about a direct apology to the real targets of his comments – Ann Romney, Karen Santorum and Callista Gingrich? Should we conservatives demand this?
I will. Nikitas3.com officially demands a direct apology to Ann Romney, Karen Santorum and Callista Gingrich from Robert De Niro.
But don’t hold your breath. De Niro will never apologize the way he should if he were sincere and a real gentleman. Because liberals never apologize unless it is to another liberal. And even then only grudgingly. Because liberals are insecure people who can’t admit when they are wrong.
The De Niro comments created a flurry of criticisms. Newt Gingrich called the comment inexcusable and divisive. But Michelle Obama's office only said that the joke was "inappropriate."
So there you go with another double standard. Because there is a huge difference between “divisive” and “inappropriate”. If the races were reversed, rest assured that Michelle Obama would have called them “divisive” and worse, and every race huckster in America would be out in full throat.
In other words the severity of the reaction always depends on who is making the comments in the first place. And no matter how vile the comments are from liberals, they are always excused or brushed off. Apologies are always accepted.
If a conservative makes any kind of comment that could be perceived as provocative, however – like Rush Limbaugh suggesting that a sexually-active birth-control advocate was a “slut” – he is skewered no end.
Yet here is Limbaugh’s apology which mentions his target, Sandra Fluke, by name, even elevating her by using ‘Ms. Fluke’ instead of her first name:
“My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.”
Which is direct and true. He says, “I sincerely apologize…”
So how about De Niro saying, “My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Mrs. Romney, Mrs. Santorum and Mrs. Gingrich for the insulting word choices.”
But here is De Niro’s non-apology again: “My remarks, although spoken with satirical jest, were not meant to offend or embarrass anyone – especially the first lady.”
And while we conservatives accept Limbaugh’s apology, liberals have not. They are using the issue as a club to beat Limbaugh over the head.
De Niro, on the other hand, is let off the hook by the same liberals.
This is classic liberalism, from environmentalism to show biz. Everything is manipulated to look like the liberal point of view is the only significant point of view.
Meanwhile in ultra-liberal Los Angeles city council members recently adopted a resolution condemning certain types of harmful speech on public airwaves. This was in reaction to Limbaugh.
But how about De Niro? Will they call him out?
No. He is part of the fabric of the La-La LA culture. In their eyes, he cannot do wrong about anything.
Council member Jan Perry introduced legislation that would ask media companies to insure that “on-air hosts do not use and promote racist and sexist slurs” in radio and other broadcasts.
So big, liberal Los Angeles wants speech regulated. So let them start with Robert De Niro.
Thus here we have a case where people on the political left wish to use government power to control what people say and hear.
To selectively use government power, that is.
Frightening…
Now look at De Niro himself. You would think, being a liberal, that he would be appearing in peaceful roles that show us a positive way of living. After all, liberals “care” so much and support gun control and pacifism.
Baloney. De Niro has starred in violent role after violent role from Taxi Driver to Goodfellas. Indeed violence and guns are everywhere in his portrayals and in the movie industry and TV industry in general.
And by the way, those industries are controlled by hard-left Democrats. And you can rest assured that most of the Follywood fools call themselves gun-control pacifists.
So why does he not express that pacifism by appearing only in peaceful roles? And show his ‘tolerant’ Democrat side by refraining from racist comments like the one about Ann Romney, Karen Santorum and Callista Gingrich?
He won’t. Because Follywood is a place of violence and hate speech that is seeking to impose a destructive regime on America. And De Niro is one of its leading lights.
These liberals know exactly what they are doing – they are dividing America. And De Niro’s “first lady” comment gave us another rare glimpse behind the scenes into how these people operate.
