Russian president Vladimir Putin, a former communist and former operative in the secret Soviet KGB police, last year called America a “parasite” on the world economy for building up so much debt.
This is classic communism, even the use of the world “parasite” which was common in the old Soviet Union to describe anyone who was not a rotten communist.
Putin called America a bad name because the system that Putin and his cronies built and benefitted from for decades had failed. And so in classic commie style he points fingers elsewhere so that nobody notices the abysmal record of communism.
This is an everyday occurrence even here in the United States as Democrats insistently call other people (Republicans, conservatives) greedy when they, Democrats, represent greed. They call other people racist when they themselves are the most prejudiced of all. They call others stupid when they themselves are the most ignorant. They say others have ruined the economy when it is Democrat policies that have done so.
So here are two questions about Putin:
*What did communism do for the world throughout the 20th century except to make it poorer and hungrier and to murder 100 million people? What did it to for the Russian people except to bring them poverty, starvation and death by the tens of millions in one of the darkest episodes in world history?
*On the other hand, what did smart people working in the free, Christian, capitalist United States do for the world during the 20th century except invent every single technology – from modern medicine to electricity to computers – that powers the world today and has spread prosperity like no other time in history?
So indeed, Mr. Putin, you have so much to be ashamed of in your squalid communist past.
But here’s another question: Why does America have so much debt in the first place such that Putin would even call us a “parasite”?
Answer: Because of the policies of socialists, leftists and communists within America who have been advocating more and more and more government spending and debt for decade upon decade.
In fact it is we anti-communist, anti-socialist conservative capitalists who have been warning about this debt and the current situation it has thrust us into. Meanwhile Russia itself has made great strides economically since the fall of communism in 1991.
Which makes you wonder: Is Russia indeed a model for the US with its capitalist-oriented flat tax, which is a simplified tax collection system that is vastly superior to our Internal Revenue Service and which is helpful to economic growth?
Or is Putin just an unrepentant communist who genetically hates America and is falling back on the old communist tactic of name-calling?
A little of both. After all the US needs a flat tax. And we do have far too much debt. Meanwhile even communist China is using capitalism to save itself and is criticizing America’s debt.
But China will never be truly capitalist or free until the murderers and thieves in power are dethroned. Ditto Russia, although the situation is much less extreme there.
It is important to understand that communism is a system of complete mind control. And Putin certainly was manipulated for decades by communist propaganda just as tens of millions of Americans have been manipulated and brainwashed by the Media Left and the Democrat party. And so Putin certainly is falling into his old communist habits because his mind was destroyed.
Indeed communist regimes have been railing against America for decades and for one reason only – to deflect attention from their own failings. Meanwhile tens of millions of immigrants throughout the 20th century from around the world have flooded into capitalist America for a better life as they bypassed communist Cuba, China and the Soviet Union.
Gee, aren’t communist nations supposed to be the Workers’ Paradise that we all dream about?
In our dreams, yes. In reality, never. In reality they are miserable human prisons.
Because in reality only God, freedom and capitalism can account for the aspirations of man. And communism denies three things – God, freedom and capitalism. But now the increasingly socialistic government in America is destroying the dream of economic prosperity for millions while productive capitalism is saving communist China and formerly communist Russia.
Indeed man’s most cherished dream since time immemorial has been to make his way in life in his own way according to his own skills, such that the carpenter may hire himself out to build homes, perhaps eventually to run his own home-building company. Or the computer expert may hire himself out and become his own boss.
Under communism, these outcomes are never possible. The state runs all. And the state decides the fate of the people. And so the citizens are reduced to peons who only work with the blessings of the government. Freedom and independence are crushed.
And under communism the ruler is not God (who is perfect) or even man (who can sometimes be good) but it is a mindless government machine controlled by corrupt people with only its own interests to serve and protect. And those interests never coincide with those of individuals. Because government is collectivist and man is individualist.
Let’s give Putin the vaguest benefit of the doubt. The trend in Russia is mildly favorable as is the trend in China. But it will take time for real reform to undo the destruction of decades of communist rule, including in the way its leaders think and talk.
