NY Mayor Backs Down on Protests?/ China Backlash Grows

The mayor of New York City appears to be backing down in his support of the anti-police riots and protests that have wracked the city for weeks. The Daily Wire reported:

New York Police Department officers clad in riot gear emptied out an “occupy” protest that sprung up around NYC City Hall weeks ago in a dramatic pre-dawn raid, according to local media.

The protest, which began on June 28 with just 100 protesters, had spilled over into the street as demonstrators demanded a massive cut to the NYPD budget. Although New York City mayor Bill de Blasio happily complied with demands to “defund the police,” slashing the NYPD’s operating funds by nearly a billion dollars and canceling more than 1,000 planned hires, protesters remained unsatisfied given that De Blasio refused to officially sign the change into law.

The protest had dwindled in recent days, but early Wednesday morning, NYPD cleared what remained, tossing demonstrators out of a nearby park and dismantling the City Hall tent city.

“Lines of officers in heavy gear were seen at Lafayette Street and Leonard near the criminal courthouses. Some were telling protesters and others on the street to move back as the swarm of cops moved in. Officials said those in the encampment were given a ten-minute warning before the clear-out began,” a local NBC affiliate reported. “Protesters say their tents, tarps, and other belongings were trashed by police.”

This probably would not have happened without the mayor’s knowledge or blessing. Nikitas3.com thinks that this story means several things:

*The left-wing mayor De Blasio may be softening his position in support of the rioters and protesters. This could be a result of bad nationwide press about conditions in the city, including withering criticism from president Trump.

Even George Pataki, a three-term Republican governor of New York state, said, “For the first time ever, I fear for the future of New York City. The de Blasio administration has been a disaster, and New York has been hit by … decision after decision that really jeopardizes its future… This cannot be allowed to continue or New York City is going to die.”

Wow. This is devastating. And Pataki is not just speaking casually. He is a very serious politician.

*Democrats know that the protests, riots and occupations of public spaces in Democrat-run cities nationwide are harming Democrats in public opinion polls. There could be a memo finally going around warning Democrat leaders to get their cities under control, or at least to scale back their open support of protesters, and for the media to avoid covering this chaos.

*It is interesting that De Blasio has apparently not signed off on the reduction of $1 billion in police funding as proposed by the City Council. If true, this probably means that he has heard from his own constituents who are fearful of the consequences. We know that black and hispanic neighborhoods would be most severely affected by police cutbacks.

*Americans were fleeing cities before the lockdowns and the riots. Even president Trump moved his official residence out of New York City to Florida in 2019. This flight appears to be accelerating, as Nikitas3.com has predicted it would. Breitbart News reports:

Existing-home sales exploded higher in June as home buyers took advantage of record-low mortgage rates and fled city centers beset with anti-police protests, riots, looting, crime, shootings, stay-at-home orders, shuttered businesses, closed schools, and a loss of amenities such as restaurants, theaters, and museums.

Total existing-home sales rose 20.7 percent from May to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.72 million, the largest monthly increase ever, data from the National Association of Realtor showed Wednesday. Sales fell in each of the previous three months due to the ongoing pandemic and lockdown rules that made showing homes in person difficult and sometimes impossible.

The shutdown may have led to some pent up demand, leading sales higher. In addition, many city-dwellers now see suburban life more attractive because so many cities have shutdown restaurants, bars, theaters, museums, and other cultural and commercial amenities that made urban life desirable. Parents are also seeking out school districts where schools may open full-time rather than continue the virtual learning that marked the end of the last school year and seems likely for many city schools this fall.

The stay-at-home orders also highlighted the confining features of apartment life. A house with a yard and more square feet is all the more valuable for families forced out of public spaces. What’s more, the riots, looting, a rise in shootings, and anti-police protests have brought renewed attention to crime and other dangers of city life.

Working from home is likely also causing many buyers to consider living outside of cities. Suburban homes have more room for home offices and commuting is less of an inconvenience when workers are going into office less frequently or staying home most of the time.

OK, so we get the picture. All in all, Nikitas3.com believes that the lockdowns, riots and protests are working strongly against cities and against Democrats all across America and that Democrats increasingly understand this. And that Democrats are looking at the total wipeout of the left-wing Labour party in the recent national elections in Britain and seeing the possibility of the same thing happening in the US. Nikitas3.com predicts that it will.

China Backlash Grows

China is a backward nation. It survives only on technology that China has imported or stolen from the US. ALL of the technology that powers China today came from the United States. NONE of it was invented in China. The Chinese people are not smart enough or creative enough to invent anything like computers, jet engines, cars, plastics, electricity, modern medicine, television, radio, cell phones or modern engineering, but only primitive things like chopsticks, fortune cookies and rickshaws.

President Trump has exposed and is and acting on China’s vast corruption and theft of Western technology. He was getting tough on China even before the virus came along. And now the virus has alerted the world to China’s mass malice. There are going to be major consequences, starting with the recent program in Japan to use taxpayer funds to finance the return of Japanese factories from China to Japan.

We can expect these types of programs to flourish all over the world. China has made a world-full of enemies with this virus. On top of that China’s neighbor India is extremely angry with China over a border incident that could ramp up hostilities between the countries, which is just what China does not want at this time.

At least 20 Indian soldiers died after a violent confrontation with Chinese troops along the countries’ border in the Himalaya mountains. This is just another strike against China by the non-Chinese world and by mother nature too, which is smashing China in historic flooding.

Other hostilities are ramping up between China and the US. The Blaze reported about the Chinese consulate in Houston, Texas which is allegedly a hotbed of internet hacking and spying on US industries and universities:

Chinese officials at the diplomatic consulate in Houston reportedly rushed to burn “classified documents” after the Trump administration ordered the consulate to close by this Friday under suspicion that American intellectual information was in danger.

State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus confirmed the news Tuesday that the consulate had been shut down and workers were being evicted in order “to protect American intellectual property.”

Within hours of the order, according to the Houston Chronicle, witnesses spotted workers at the consulate using barrels to burn paperwork in the courtyard.

The fire was so large that the Houston Fire Department was called, but when police and firefighters arrived they were denied entry.

In a brief statement, which did not provide further detail on why the Houston consulate was targeted, Ortagus said: “The United States will not tolerate [China’s] violations of our sovereignty and intimidation of our people, just as we have not tolerated [its] unfair trade practices, theft of American jobs, and other egregious behavior.”

The U.S. has been stepping up action of late against the Chinese Communist Party’s long-running intellectual property theft.

The Department of Justice and FBI charged two Chinese nationals on Tuesday for allegedly “hacking into the computer systems of hundreds of victim companies, governments, non-governmental organizations, and individual dissidents, clergy, and democratic and human rights activists in the United States and abroad, including Hong Kong and China.”

The DOJ alleged that the Chinese nationals conducted a hacking campaign against 11 countries over the last decade and recently tried to steal research from “companies developing COVID-19 vaccines, testing technology, and treatments.”

The news came as the Trump administration considers banning the Beijing-based tech company, TikTok.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin called the consulate shutdown “an outrageous and unjustified move that will sabotage relations between the two countries.”

This is great. Nikitas3.com believes that president Trump is moving toward the expulsion of many or all Chinese nationals from the US since they are virtually all involved in spying. Let us pray that they are sent packing. Here’s more from The Daily Wire:

FBI agents have interviewed Chinese researchers suspected of being undeclared members of the People’s Liberation Army in more than 25 cities, according to some U.S. officials. In some instances, staff at Chinese consulates helped instruct some researchers on security, reminding them to delete information from their electronic devices, the officials said.

Stilwell said that one of the events that triggered the closure of the facility was a Chinese official working with a Chinese state-owned airline to “put unidentified passengers on a charter flight meant for Chinese students departing Houston amid the coronavirus travel restrictions,” The Journal added.

The Chinese Communist Party is “pursuing a campaign of intellectual property theft, economic espionage, cyber intrusions that target businesses — big and small — all across the country and our academic research institutions,” FBI Director Chris Wray said last month. “And it’s everything from Fortune 100 companies to startups. It’s agriculture. It’s high tech. It’s aviation. It’s health care. As I said before, it’s our academic research institutions.”

“There’s no country that presents a broader, more comprehensive threat to America’s innovation, to economic security, and to our democratic ideas than China does,” Wray told Fox News. “Just to give you some context for that. Just as we’re sitting here having this conversation, the FBI has over 2,000 active investigations that trace back to the government of China.”
