Democrats are panicking as the three Trump-Biden election debates approach starting Tuesday, September 29. We conservatives have been waiting for months for these debates in which president Trump will trounce the brain-addled Joe Biden who cannot seem to put one single sentence together without making a major mistake or appearing to be a blathering old man.
Normally backers of one candidate or another, or both, worry obsessively about the debates. And we know that Democrats indeed are worried sick about Uncle Joe. On the other hand, we Trump supporters know that our guy is a master on the debate stage and that he constantly and fearlessly takes questions from the press, not hiding from them like many presidents do. And like Biden is doing.
Biden has been staying home in Delaware for months and using the virus as his excuse not to go out and campaign. But it is not a valid excuse. President Trump has been traveling widely and Biden can do so too, if he wanted, which he does not.
Nikitas3.com conjectures that Biden not only is mentally unfit to make campaign appearances, but that he also is terrified of the Chinese virus. Biden is a pale, sickly 77-year-old man. He must be frightened of catching the virus which would probably kill him. Trump, on the other hand, does not appear frightened at all.
Democrats and their media cronies are trying to create an excuse for Biden to skip the debates with Trump. Already a New York Times columnist suggested that Biden should demand two things in exchange for debating the president – Trump’s tax returns, and a fact checker to nitpick every word that the president utters.
Knowing that Trump would reject both demands, the president – and not Biden – then could be blamed for canceling the debates.
It’s a nice try, but it won’t work and the American voting public would never accept it. At this crucial time ‘we the people’ want to see the two candidates head-to-head to lay out their agendas.
The cancel-the-debates train is picking up steam, however. Joe Lockhart, a White House press secretary under Bill Clinton, launched the latest salvo when he penned a column urging Biden to skip the debates altogether. Lockhart wrote, as if speaking to Biden directly:
“Whatever you do, don’t debate Trump. Trump has made more than 20,000 misleading or false statements according to the Washington Post. It’s a fool’s errand to enter the ring with someone who can’t follow the rules or the truth. Biden will undoubtedly take heat from Republicans and the media for skipping the debates. But it’s worth the risk as trying to debate someone incapable of telling the truth is an impossible contest to win.”
This is pathetic, but this is all that the Democrats have. They know that they must do something drastic or that Biden will lose the election in the first 10 minutes of the first debate as he stumbles over his own words and exposes his deteriorating mental state. The video clips of Biden screwing up are legendary, although they only appear on conservative websites.
The University of Notre Dame, in South Bend, Indiana, made its own pitch to try and cancel the debates. It decided not to host the first debate – ostensibly over the coronavirus – which was scheduled to be held on its campus on September 29. This was certainly intended to suggest that the debates are a bad idea to begin with, using the virus as an excuse.
This too shall fail. Americans want to see the debates. And we Trumpsters cannot wait. Perhaps they will not be in-person debates with a live audience, but by TV hookup from two different locations for Trump and Biden. That way Biden could even get away with sitting down the whole time since he is probably too weak to stand for 90 minutes, or even 20 minutes.
Here is a letter to the editor from The Wall Street Journal on July 30, obviously from a Democrat operative:
Don’t Assume There Will Be Debates in 2020
I would love to watch both candidates verbally duke it out before all America, but I’m quite certain I’ll be watching Netflix on those evenings—as will Joe Biden, safely ensconced in his bunker.
I think Karl Rove has it completely wrong in “2020 Gives New Meaning to ‘Viral Campaign’” (op-ed, July 16). President Donald Trump won’t score points on Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential debates because there will be no debates. After Vice President Biden finally gets officially nominated on August 20 and President Trump gets renominated on August 27, there will still be over a month before the first scheduled debate on September 29. During that time, one or more progressive “grass roots” groups will urge Joe Biden not to debate Donald Trump. They will exclaim, “Don’t debate hate!” and pressure Mr. Biden not to debate…
See the pattern? This one says that the debate should be canceled over Trump’s alleged “hate”. Every few days we are seeing a new story suggesting how Biden can avoid debating. This is all an attempt to de-legitimize the debates and make America forget about them.
Nikitas3.com guessed several months ago that this was going to happen. It will be fascinating to watch how it works out, and it will not be favorable to Democrats. American voters are not going to let Biden off the hook.
Normally presidential debates are not major factors except when a poor performance or a major gaffe hurts one candidate. For instance, Mitt Romney’s lackluster third debate with Obama in 2012 did a lot of damage to Romney’s candidacy, along with Romney’s generally lackluster campaign.
In 1984, Republican president Ronald Reagan was running for re-election against former vice president Walter Mondale. Reagan’s age (he was 73 at the time) and stamina had been questioned by the Reagan-hating media for four years despite Reagan’s successful presidency. During the debate, the host asked Reagan if his age would affect his work, wondering, “Is there any doubt in your mind that you would be able to function in such circumstances?”
Obviously Reagan had a carefully crafted response since he knew that the question was coming. He replied casually, “I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent’s youth and inexperience.”
The whole world exploded in laughter, including Mondale. The election was won right there. Reagan went on to win 49 states in the Electoral College that November. Mondale did manage to win his home state of Minnesota.
Complacency Toppled Hillary and Will Topple Biden Too
Democrats were so overconfident that Hillary Clinton was going to win in 2016 that she hardly bothered campaigning and Democrats made little effort to shore her up.
This ultimately led to Hillary’s downfall. Obviously if Democrats knew that Hillary was going to lose then they would have gone out and campaigned door-to-door for her. But they did not.
Why? Because the fake polls showed Hillary winning easily, and it looks like this may happen again with Biden. All of the fake polls show Biden way head of Trump. And so Democrats already may be letting down their guard. This is good news for president Trump.
Trump is happy to be facing Biden. He knows that he can beat Biden easily. That is why he is criticizing Biden lightly, but not actively slamming him every day. Trump wants to make sure that Biden get the nomination later in August, and then, after Labor Day, the president will savage Biden on every issue from crime to China to Biden’s mental state.
Meanwhile there is little voter “enthusiasm” for Biden and ‘enthusiasm’ is a known political phenomenon that wins elections. On the other hand, “enthusiasm” for Trump is sky-high. There will be no complacency about the president; every genuine supporter will go out and vote for him. Nothing will stop them.
We saw evidence of this in a July 14 US Senate primary election in Alabama. Trump endorsed a first-time Republican candidate named Tommy Tuberville over Establishment Republican Jeff Sessions, who betrayed Trump as US attorney general and who wanted his old Senate seat back, which he had held for many years before becoming AG. With Trump’s support, Tubervile crushed Sessions by 20 points. This shows the power of Trump and the ‘enthusiasm’ of Trump supporters, which should easily be reflected nationwide in November.
Portland Sees Massive Violence Spike
Nikitas3.com visited Portland several times in the 1970s when I spent time in Oregon. It was a beautiful, pleasant, clean city that celebrated its famous Rose Festival annually. But back then there was an expression “Don’t Californicate Oregon”. This meant that Oregonians were supposed to try to ward off the radical communists who were moving to Oregon from California in that period.
It didn’t work. Today we are seeing the results of that radicalization. Portland will never, ever recover from these riots. Its reputation is beyond repair and no reform-minded conservative could ever get elected mayor there to turn the city around or guarantee that the militants would not take over again. Breitbart News reported recently:
July 2020 shootings in riot-besieged Portland, Oregon, were more than double the number witnessed in July 2019.
The Oregonian reports there were 28 shootings in the city in July 2019, but there were 63 in July 2020.
Moreover, the 15 murders that occurred in Portland during July 2020 marked the highest number of murders for a single month the city has witnessed in over three decades.
Police Chief Chuck Lovell reacted to the surge in shootings and murders, pointing out that the Portland City Council used budget cuts to force the police department to eliminate its Gun Violence Reduction Team on July 1, 2020.
The Washington Examiner reports that 24 people have been murdered in Portland during 2020. That overall figure puts the current surge of violence into context, as 15 of those 24 were killed in July alone.
Shootings and homicides are surging in other Democrat-controlled cities as well.
In fact many of these Democrat-run cities are on the way to oblivion – Portland, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, etc. They have passed the point of no return. Minneapolis used to be a clean, wonderful city but it now has a dark cloud hanging over it. And that cloud is getting darker every day.
The Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) even has instructed residents they should “be prepared” to hand over their phones, wallets, and purses to robbers.
The MPD has reported a 46 percent increase in carjackings and a 36 percent increase in robberies compared to this period in 2019.
Police in the city’s Third Precinct alone have received more than 100 reports of robberies and 20 reports of carjackings in just the last month.
Officials are now telling residents to be ready and willing to comply with the demands of criminals in an email sent to Third Precinct residents.
