Mail-in Voting Backfires on Democrats Big-Time

Democrats have created a huge problem for themselves with their strident advocacy of mail-in voting. They are suddenly backing away from it and even recommending against it.

Their original plan was to use mail-in votes on account of the China virus. And to delay the final vote count as late ballots showed up after election day through the mail. They predicted that they could use the chaos of an unresolved election in order to steal the election with mountains of late-arriving fake mail-in ballots if they see their candidates lose on election day.

But now Democrats are panicking because mail-in balloting is doing a huge backfire on them. First, they are seeing stories like this all over the country. reported:

The U.S. Postal Service inspector general is investigating after blank election ballots were found among hundreds of pieces of mail in a New Jersey dumpster.

And that’s not the only thing causing concern.

“To have that all go in the trash like that was, in my mind, really ridiculous,” Howard Dinger told CBS2’s Ali Bauman on Tuesday night.

Dinger said he was throwing some trash out in a North Arlington dumpster on Friday afternoon when under the lid he found piles of unopened mail, including dozens of blank mail-in ballots.

So Problem #1 is that ballots are not getting to voters, are being discarded, are being dumped by wacky postmen, are not getting back to be counted, etc. In other words, the free flow of ballots is anything but free. There recently was a case in Wisconsin where a tray full of mail, including ballots, was found in a ditch. But it gets worse. continued:

Nearly 7,000 Teaneck (NJ) voters received mail-in ballots Monday with the wrong Congressional candidate. The county clerk said it was due to a computer mis-programming and they will be getting new ballots.

New Jersey voters can choose to mail their completed ballot, bring it directly to a poll worker on Election Day, or opt to vote in person.

So you see Problem #2 – the more mistakes and confusion there are, the more that citizens may simply give up. Notice that second line, that “New Jersey voters can choose to mail their completed ballot, bring it directly to a poll worker on Election Day, or opt to vote in person.”

Well, wait a minute. What happened to mail-in ballots, where you never had to leave your house except to go the mailbox, out of fear of the China virus?

Answer: Democrats are scrambling to alter their narrative. It gets even worse. A website called Axios reports:

Democrats spent the early months of the coronavirus pandemic urging their (voters) to vote (by mail). But as threats of U.S. Postal Service delays, Team Trump litigation and higher ballot rejection rates become clearer, many are pivoting to promote more in-person voting as well.

Why it matters: Democrats are exponentially more likely to vote by mail than Republicans this year — and if enough mail-in ballots are lost, rejected on a technicality or undercounted, it could change the outcome of the presidential election or other key races.

Driving the news: In Colorado, former Gov. John Hickenlooper, who’s running against Sen. Cory Gardner, told Axios that he’s encouraging voters to physically take their mail-in ballots to a dropbox and to do so “early, really early.”

Paulette Jordan, a Democratic candidate for Senate in Idaho, told Axios that she’s encouraging voters to take their filled out mail ballots in person to the county courthouse.

But this is too late. They spent months conditioning their voters to accept mail-in ballots and are now trying to re-condition them to return them in person. This is going to cause confusion and may lead to significant decreases in Democrat ballots as voters get frustrated.

And this is precisely why president Trump has urged right from the start that his voters go to the polls and vote in person, which conservatives and Trumpsters are vowing to do.

There is another major glitch in this mess for Democrats: Their voters are vastly more afraid of the virus than Republicans and conservatives, and so that is going to cut down significantly on in-person voting for Democrats, particularly in cities. So if the mail-in ballots decrease and in-person voting decreases, then that is mega-double-trouble for Democrats. Axios continued:

Black PAC has moved from exclusively educating voters on voting by mail to informing about all available options: in-person, absentee, early voting and voting on Election Day.

The Collective PAC — the largest Black-led political action committee targeting Black voters and candidates — is pivoting, too. “We’re shifting away from making plans to vote by mail to voting early in person,” Quentin James, the group’s founder, told Axios.

The pivot is reflected by Barack and Michelle Obama, both of whom have been encouraging Democrats not just to vote by mail, but to vote early any way they can, including in person.

Biden campaign officials say they’ve always encouraged people to vote however they are most comfortable, and that they’ve never exclusively stressed one method over another.

This is baloney. They wanted mail-in voting desperately until they realized that it is fraught with peril. And if you didn’t think that it could get worse, it can. Axios continued:

But there are signs of potential trouble given the volume of (mail-in) voting that’s expected this year:

A fresh Pennsylvania state Supreme Court ruling could impact tens of thousands of (mail-in) ballots in that swing state.

In Florida, voters are twice as likely to have their (mail-in) ballot rejected if they’ve never voted that way before, University of Florida political science professor Dan Smith told Axios.

In North Carolina, “Black voters’ (mail-in) ballots are being rejected at more than four times the rate of white voters,” per FiveThirtyEight. Overall, data shows new, younger, Black and Hispanic voters are more likely to have their ballots rejected.

More than 550k mail-in ballots were rejected during the presidential primaries this year, per an NPR analysis.

Woah… “Black voters’ (mail-in) ballots are being rejected at more than four times the rate of white voters,” This could truly be the apocalypse for Democrats in light of the fact that Trump won Michigan’s electoral votes in 2016 by only 10,000 votes last time. Blacks vote overwhelmingly Democrat. This rejection rate is going to cause a huge drop in black/Democrat votes.

And the rejection rate is high because mail-in voting has a list of instructions that many voters will not follow properly. For instance, Pennsylvania requires you to put your ballot inside one envelope, and then put that envelope inside of another envelope.

It gets confusing…

Meanwhile Axios also reported that long lines formed with voters waiting two hours or more to cast a ballot on the first day of early in-person voting in Virginia. If this continues to happen nationwide including election day – which it will with the China virus slowing everything down – then Biden voters are much more likely to stay home or go home since they are vastly less ‘enthusiastic’ about their candidate than Trump voters are.

This is why “enthusiasm” is important, and even crucial, for a candidate to win.
