Look at this amazing story from reuters.com:
‘Europeans are plagued by mental and neurological illnesses, with almost 165 million people or 38 percent of the population suffering each year from a brain disorder such as depression, anxiety, insomnia or dementia, according to a large new study.
With only about a third of cases receiving the therapy or medication needed, mental illnesses cause a huge economic and social burden — measured in the hundreds of billions of euros — as sufferers become too unwell to work and personal relationships break down. "Mental disorders have become Europe's largest health challenge of the 21st century," the study's authors said.’
OK, so what does this mean when Europe is generally more prosperous and peaceful than it ever has been, with higher living standards and longer lives than ever, that Europeans are going kooky?
First it surely is an exaggeration like most things that are reported in the Euro/world media. Because, for instance, millions of cases of elderly dementia are simply a natural result of longer lifespans.
But this study probably has a lot of truth in it. And this means that atheistic socialism has a death grip on Europe. Because Euro socialism is a system of irrationality, God-less hopelessness, negativity and fear that undermines people even in the best of times and turns them into government-controlled and media-saturated eunuchs.
Look at that malarkey… ‘as sufferers become too unwell to work…’
In Europe the rising sun and the alarm clock are what make people too unwell to work. Because Europe is a slacker socialist continent where far too many people simply do not want to work after decades of laws have been passed shortening the work day/week, insuring more leisure and retirement time, giving the whole month of August off etc.
And now it is all catching up with the Euros since the money has run out to fund all their sloth. Even the retirement age was raised in 2010 in France from 60 to 62. Horrors!
But the new socialist president elected in May 2012 is turning it back to 60.
Amazing. So where will the money come from for more and more idle years for more and more retirees as most of the world’s nations are realizing that people are going to have work longer and longer?
It will come out of the private economy through more taxes and will lead to lower standards of living and fewer jobs because there will be less money for investment in productive enterprises and economic growth.
Early retirement is a pillar of socialist theory in Europe and the US. Many American liberals like public school teachers and government workers retire in their 50s. But then after their early retirement these slackers have nothing to do for 20 or 30 or 40 years so their minds rot out as they do nothing and then live off of the taxes of the working people. All this extra time on their hands is also a big part of the Euro mental problem, rest assured.
Then, as Euros are force-fed more fearmongering propaganda from their left-wing media like the end of the world in ‘global warming’ they become more hopeless, depressed and nutty.
The Reuters article said:
‘(study author) Wittchen said that in Europe, that grim future had arrived early, with diseases of the brain already the single largest contributor to the EU's burden of ill health.’
So now that modern medicine has cured real diseases like plague, smallpox and tuberculosis, liberals have invented a new way to destroy themselves – through depression and anxiety, i.e., destruction of the healthy brain. This is like the wealthy person who has everything but then starts to think about all the things that he does not have or that he wishes that he could have.
But ultimately this Euro mental crisis is classic atheistic socialism, where the whole world is material and there is no concept of a better and higher life through faith.
The #1 factor at the root of this anxiety and depression is the destruction of Western Christianity, the basis for the West’s triumph in the first place. By disbelieving even in the existence of a good God who will salve us in the worst of times and guide us through the troubles that we barely have today compared to history, man is left adrift. And secular and atheistic Europe is truly suffering under this regime as are increasing numbers of Americans.
Socialism was supposed to replace God with a government check. But the opposite has happened. With the loss of God comes the loss of faith itself and its corollary, hope. And a loss of interest in the possibilities of mankind for a better world.
Another factor that would cause this mental illness is the widespread unemployment of Europe. With tens of millions of Euros idle through much of their lives because of socialist economic policies, people are going nuts. They have no meaning to their lives and endless amounts of free time on their hands. Because traditionally and historically man has identified himself and his sense of self-worth through his work.
Also Reuter reports:
"Because mental disorders frequently start early in life, they have a strong malignant impact on later life," Wittchen said. "Only early targeted treatment in the young will effectively prevent the risk of increasingly largely proportions of severely ill …patients in the future."
And why do these disorders start ‘early in life’?
Because children today are hammered with ‘global warming’ alarmism and other environmental extremism from the cradle on. They are never allowed to be happy or optimistic about anything. They are waylaid from pre-school on about dying polar bears, withering energy supplies, melting ice caps and disappearing rain forests. Who wouldn’t be depressed?
So ‘early targeted treatment’ should include a ban on environmental alarmism in the schools and in popular culture.
And now this whole mental illness syndrome has come to America as tens of millions of people are propagandized about everything from the left. For instance:
*Multiculturalism blames the white race for the terrible state of mankind. Thus many white children are going to grow up with mental problems.
*Al Gore goes around preaching a completely unproven theory about ‘global warming’ which is passed off as truth by the world media. Thus the whole concept of truth, on which human happiness, enlightenment and confidence are based, is then thrown into question.
*Man is described by left-wing academic intellectualism as merely a descendant of apes while leftist socialism denigrates Western man’s great achievements in science, art, architecture, literature etc. Thus many Euros and Americans see themselves coming from a debased culture with nothing to look up to when in fact Euro-American culture has been the world’s highest.
*Marriage and the traditional family, long anchors of human happiness and signs of continuity, are undermined in the modern socialist world and are replaced with a feminine culture of single mothers with no rational man’s input. Meanwhile children are raised in a wolf-pack culture by ‘the whole village’ (schools, counselors etc.) and not by two sensible parents including a rational father.
The Euro study is no surprise. And those of us who have not fallen into the abyss of materialistic socialism/atheism must lead mankind back to a better world with truth and optimism.
We must explain that faith is faith and that God indeed can lead us to a brighter future, and that prosperity and positivity are ours for the asking with the right conservative policies.
