Ruinous Biden Immigration Policies / Fla. Gov DeSantis Takes on Big Tech

Biden and the Democrats, along with many Republicans like George W. Bush, have been undermining America with open borders. This is particularly troublesome in the time of the China virus. Illegal immigrants can bring in alien strains of the virus that we may not be able to control.

This is part of the Democrat strategy. They would like to see the US deluged by dependent illegals and living under permanent virus lockdown as we are seeing in various ‘blue’ states.

Biden started by ordering a halt to deportations. That has been reversed by a court decision. Let us hope that that reversal stands.

Below are excerpts from Fox News from an article called Biden to issue new immigration orders as part of push to roll back Trump-era policies. A comment is included after each excerpt.

Fox News reports: President Biden on Tuesday will sign three executive orders on illegal and legal immigration – as part of an aggressive push in the early days of his presidency to roll back many of his predecessor’s policies.

One of the orders will create a task force to push forward with the reunification of migrants who were separated from family members at the border during the Trump administration via the “zero tolerance” policy.

That policy stopped the practice of adults being admitted to the U.S. when claiming asylum if they were accompanying a child. Due to court orders preventing minors being held in detention for more than a few weeks, it meant that children were placed in care or transferred to relatives in the U.S., while parents or guardians were deported. comment: This is how the open-borders crowd has undermined our immigration laws – by creating a controversy every time that a law is enforced. This is why we need to adhere to the laws that we already have, which is what president Trump was doing. Those laws mean that there should be no illegal immigration. Period. Then we would not have all of these controversies and we could offer an orderly immigration system, i.e., apply in your home country and come here legally.

Fox News reports: A senior administration official told reporters that the task force recommendations would take into account “the menu of options that exist under immigration, the appropriate issuance of visas or other immigration benefits.”

The new task force will work to find those who were separated, and make recommendations to Biden and other agencies regarding steps that can be taken.

“It was a moral failure and a national shame that the prior administration used family separation as a weapon against desperate families and children,” a senior administration official said. comment: No, it is national shame that we have allowed our border to get out of control. Ironically those most hurt by illegal immigration are poor people in America who vote largely Democrat, primarily blacks and hispanics, who see their wages depressed by illegals willing to work for less and steal jobs. Illegals generally settle in poor neighborhoods in cities. This pushes up rents in those neighborhoods as demand for housing rises.

Fox News reports: Another order will implement a three-part strategy to address “irregular migration” at the southern border. It includes the development of a strategy to tackle the instability and other factors that drive migrants north, and collaboration with other countries. comment: The main factor driving immigrants north is the enticement of the open border. Meanwhile thousands die on the way, women are raped and others suffer in various ways like in dangerous desert crossings. But you will never see those negative factors discussed in the media. They portray open borders as all positive for the migrants. It is not.

Fox News reports: Most controversial, it also directs the Department of Homeland Security to review the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) which Biden has promised to end. The protocols, known as the Remain-in-Mexico policy, keep migrants south of the border while their immigration hearings are underway rather than admitting them into the (United States). comment: The more that we allow lax laws at the border, the more people will come. We need to have tough enforcement. These are the same Democrats who claim that we would have less crime if police are nice to criminals or if police are restrained. But we know that the opposite happens.

Fox News reports: Critics have called the policy cruel and one that puts migrants in danger. But Trump officials have warned that the policy ends one of the key pull factors for migrants, and ending it could result in chaos and a wave of illegal immigration.

“By ending MPP, the key policy ending catch and release, the Biden administration is taking another significant step reinstating incentives for and loopholes to be exploited by migrants to enter our country illegally,” former acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan told Fox News in a statement.

“With another stroke of a pen Biden is doubling down on his open border strategies, encouraging illegal migration, and creating the next crisis to reach our borders,” he said. “Within two weeks of this new administration our borders are less secure, our country less safe, and the mission of our front line personnel has become more dangerous.” comment: Amen. We should not be encouraging illegals to come here, particularly as the China virus poses new dangers, and as our unemployment rate remains sky-high. Where will all of the new illegals work? Illegals think that they are going to have great lives in America, but when they get here they end up living in poor and dangerous neighborhoods but Democrats don’t care.

Fox News reports: The order does not immediately end MPP, but takes the first steps to doing so by ordering a review. Biden had promised to end the program on “day one” but officials had later said it would “take time.” The order also does not end Title 42 public health restrictions that have allowed the rapid removal of new illegal immigrants in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The orders come on top of a slew of orders issued in Biden’s first day in office. Those included ending the construction of the wall at the southern border, strengthening the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy and reversing Trump-era travel restrictions on countries deemed a security risk.

The administration has also issued a 100-day moratorium on deportations, although that is currently subject to a legal challenge. Meanwhile, Biden has proposed a sweeping immigration bill that includes a pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants. comment: President Trump was deporting thousands of illegal criminals, including MS-13 gang members. This will end with Biden, which is going to harm poor Americans most who live in bad neighborhoods. Ending construction on the border wall is another disaster. It throws thousands of Americans out of work at a time of high unemployment and it signals that the border is open once again.

We also know that Biden will push for citizenship for all illegals in the US. This will only draw more illegals. The reported number of illegals in the US is repeatedly put at “11 million”. That is nonsense. estimates that it is 25 million to 30 million.

Here is Tom Joyce writing on

Joyce writes: Offering pathways to citizenship for illegal immigrants is a great way to encourage more illegal immigration, as is Biden’s stance that illegal immigrants should be able to get free college, government-subsidized healthcare, and drivers’ licenses. The latter is also a great way to boost our carbon footprint as people emit, on average, four times more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere in the United States than they would in their home country. comment: Gee, where are the ‘greenies’ to protest this increase in energy use by people who come to the US versus living in their home countries? There is none, because ‘greenies’ don’t really care about the environment. ‘Greenies’ are hard-left activists who use the environmental movement as a cover for their real activities.

Joyce writes: It’s also a financial burden to the taxpayers of the U.S. Yes, many argue that illegal immigrants pay taxes, but not enough to cover the services they use. The Federation for American Immigration Reform says that illegal immigration costs taxpayers $132 billion annually… So, while illegal immigrants pay an estimated $11.7 billion in state and local taxes, around $1,000 apiece if you use the lowball estimate of illegal immigrants in the country, it’s still far lower than the more than $5,000 the average person in the U.S. pays. Legalizing these immigrants may boost tax revenue, but a hoard of low-skill immigrants won’t pay for themselves. After all, the top half of income earners pay 97% of income tax revenue while the bottom half pay just 3%. Plus, about half of immigrant households use welfare services. comment: These are shocking numbers that the open-borders people don’t want us to know about. It is a myth that illegals are all hard-working people who don’t rely on government.

Joyce writes: Not to mention the kind of illegal immigration Biden would encourage puts the country at risk of another pandemic — or a terrorist attack. Think that’s fearmongering? The coronavirus and the swine flu didn’t originate in the U.S., and sick people try to come to the U.S. often, Border Patrol agents have said. Some of the counties worst off in the coronavirus pandemic are U.S.-Mexico border counties. They include Yuma County, Arizona (6.7% of people have been infected); El Paso County, Texas (7.1% infected); Cameron County, Texas (5.8% infected), and Imperial County, California (7.4% infected). comment: There are even reports of ambulances coming over the border from Juarez, Mexico and heading to hospitals in El Paso, Texas with virus patients. This is the future under Democrats.

Republican Florida Governor is Awesome

Tough-guy Republican Florida governor Ron DeSantis is awesome. He previously represented Florida’s 6th congressional district in the House of Representatives from 2013 to 2018. After graduating from Yale University and Harvard Law School, DeSantis served as an officer and attorney in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, U.S. Navy (JAG).

Here is The Epoch Times reporting on DeSantis standing up to the Big Tech thugs:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the consequences that big tech companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google will face if they violate the privacy of Floridians and interfere with citizens’ access to candidates during an election.

The Republican governor criticized the manipulation of news and censorship of certain individuals while detailing the new legislation’s harsh penalties during a press conference from the Florida Capitol on Tuesday.

DeSantis alluded to the tech giants “moderating” news that was unfavorable to President Joe Biden, banning high-profile conservatives, including President Donald Trump, from Twitter and Facebook, and their removal of the Parler social media platform from Amazon’s servers.

“When 2.8 million Americans chose to download the application Parler and share information with friends, family, and colleagues, what was the result of that? Canceled by Amazon, Google, and Apple,” said DeSantis.

DeSantis called for open, robust debate on issues that affect Americans rather than the outright censorship that big tech companies are currently engaging in. The governor said that companies are discriminating against citizens when they change their rules as it suits them, without warning or consistency.

Under the new measure from the Florida legislature, the technology companies that de-platform a candidate during an election will face a daily fine of $100,000 until the candidate’s access to the platform is restored.

If a technology company promotes a candidate for office against another, the value of that free promotion must be recorded as a political campaign contribution enforced by the Florida Elections Commission.

The bill will also empower the Florida Attorney General to bring action against big tech companies under Florida’s Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act if they violate the new policies laid out in the bill.

Tech companies would have to give users advance notice of a rule change and before shutting down an account and apply the rule consistently.

“And lastly, [if] a technology company uses their content and user-related algorithms to suppress or prioritize the access of any content related to a political candidate or cause on the ballot, that company will also face daily fines,” DeSantis added.wing
