Violence Strikes Again at Fort Hood

Here is about the April 2, 2014 Fort Hood killings:

Fort Hood gunman Ivan Lopez may have had angry words with fellow soldiers before opening fire on the military base and killing three, wounding 16 and then turning the gun on himself, an Army official said Thursday.

Lopez, an Army specialist from Puerto Rico who had been treated for mental problems, was stopped when a Military Police officer confronted him, her gun drawn. Otherwise, the massacre could’ve been far worse, said Army Lt. Gen. Mark Milley, who was unable to ascribe a motive to the shooting. (end of excerpt)

Notice that the killing ended when Lopez was confronted with armed force. This is a crucial detail that the gun-controller left will ignore. And it indicates the heart of our crime problems and our gun violence problems. In other words, force stops force.

If more criminals were met with force then the overall crime rate would plummet. But the gun-controllers do not want that. That is why liberals seek to prosecute anyone who harms a criminal, like George Zimmerman did, and to defend criminals at every turn. It is to give the upper hand to criminals, which creates the social chaos that liberalism thrives on.

Meanwhile criminals ignore gun-control laws. The Colorado theater shooter James Holmes is reported to have violated 20 gun-control laws in his July 2012 killings. So how will more laws stop people like Holmes and Lopez?

They won’t. Yet liberals use every gun crime like Fort Hood to push for more laws. Then remember that during the 2009 Fort Hood killings by the Islamic terrorist, soldiers did not have their personal firearms to stop the shooting. At Virginia Tech no student had the firepower to stop the crazy killer because VT is a “gun free” zone.

In addition the Virginia Tech killer was a known lunatic but was not on a No Buy list for guns because a judge decided that he was not crazy enough to be listed. Meanwhile the academics at Virginia Tech did nothing about him even though he was well-known as a nut. These acadmics and that judge are partially responsible for the Virginia Tech killings and they are all most likely avid gun controllers.

If Lopez had “mental problems” where did his gun come from? Did he buy a gun even though he was crazy? If so, why didn’t a background check stop him?

If he obtained the gun before he developed his mental problems, why didn’t his wife or someone else like the psychiatrists treating him seek to have his gun taken away? These are the people who know the intimate details of this guy, particularly his wife.

In addition the Virginia Tech killer, who was Korean, was heavily influenced by a violent South Korean film called Old Boy. The Columbine killers were acting out the Oliver Stone film Natural Born Killers and Holmes was acting out the Joker character in Batman. Yet typically we never hear these violence-loving entertainment-industry leftists faulted by the leftist gun-controllers for all of the crime that they directly inspire.

Because entertainment-industry liberals are getting rich on violence. They promote violence every day in every way through films and TV shows. But this fact is covered up again and again by the gun-controllers as they blame the National Rifle Association for every gun crime.

Now here is an excerpt from about James Holmes:

One of Holmes’ psychiatrists suspected prior to the shooting that Holmes suffered from mental illness and could be dangerous. A month before the shooting, Dr. Lynne Fenton reported to the campus police that he had made homicidal statements which indicated he was a threat to the public. Despite the fact that she was seeing him as a patient, she decided not to hospitalize him for saying he wanted to kill people. Her reasoning is unknown. Other acquaintances also feared Holmes was violent. Two weeks prior to the shooting, he sent a text message asking a graduate student if they had heard of the disorder dysphoric mania and warning the student to stay away from him “because I am bad news”. (end of excerpt)

So indeed, many people knew that Holmes was dangerous. But they did nothing. They should all be held to account, particularly Fenton. She should be sued.

On September 16, 2013, Aaron Alexis got into the Washington Navy Yard with a sawed-off shotgun because he had a security clearance. He killed 12 people. Yet Alexis was given that clearance even though he had two gun charges on his record, had been discharged from the Navy for bad conduct, and had been “hearing voices”. It has not been made public who gave him that clearance but every person involved with that clearance should be dealt with harshly.

Meanwhile who is going to be blamed for Alexis’ violence?

The National Rifle Association will. The Republican party will. Yet all of these killings were preventable. It was the people close to the shootings – the security guards, family members, professors, psychiatrists, Army officials, acquaintances, the campus police in the Holmes case and even the police in Colorado in the Columbine case who knew well about the Columbine killers’ death threats on the internet – who allowed these killings to happen through inaction. These people should all be held responsible while the gun controllers blame it entirely on the 2nd Amendment.

Here is the sentence that Lopez posted on his Facebook page one month before the killings:

“I have just lost my inner peace, full of hatred, I think this time the devil will take me.”

So where were the readers of this post to warn about this guy? Why did his wife not seek to have his gun taken away or have him confined to a mental hospital? This was just another of the flashing warning signs that gets ignored over and over, as in the other cases.

Lopez served four months in Iraq in 2011. He received several awards during his nine years of military service. Now look at this from

Lopez was armed with a .45 caliber Smith & Wesson and turned the gun on himself when confronted by a female military police officer in a parking lot of the base…

During Thursday’s press conference, Milley credited the unnamed female soldier for helping to prevent more people from being shot during the attacks. (end of excerpt)

Yes, the ARMED female military police officer, a fact that most of the Liberal Media will ignore or downplay. Look at this from

After the 2009 shooting, the military tightened base security nationwide. That included issuing security personnel long-barreled weapons, adding an insider-attack scenario to their training, and strengthening ties to local law enforcement. The military also joined an FBI intelligence-sharing program aimed at identifying terror threats.(end of excerpt)

Oh, wow, the military police have bigger weapons. Big deal. The military police are like the police anywhere. They usually show up after a crime has been committed. That is why soldiers on military bases should be allowed to carry their personal weapons. Also look at this ridiculous sentence again:

The military also joined an FBI intelligence-sharing program aimed at identifying terror threats.

No kidding. But they didn’t need FBI and an intelligence-sharing program to identify the terror threat at Fort Hood in 2009. The Islamic Army major killer was well-known to military brass as an extremist. But they did nothing about him because they were afraid of offending his Muslim sensibilites. In other words, political correctness led to the killings… as usual.

Now here is an added thought on another subject entirely: has said repeatedly that Hillary Clinton has exhibited no real accomplishments during her life to support a possible run for the presidency in 2016. And that her tenure as secretary of state not only had no genuine achievements but also had the Benghazi disaster on her watch. To prove my point here is a statement that Hillary herself made on April 3, 2014 at the Women of the World Summit when asked what she was most proud of about her tenure as secretary of state. Notice that she does not point to one single success and flouders around looking for an answer:

“Look, I really see my role as Secretary, in fact leadership in general in a democracy, as a relay race. When you run the best race you can run, you hand off the baton. Some of what hasn’t been finished may go on to be finished, so when President Obama asked me to be Secretary of State I agreed.”

“We had the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, we had two wars. We had continuing threats from all kinds of corners around the world that we had to deal with. So it was a perilous time frankly. What he said to me was, ‘Look, I have to be dealing with the economic crisis, I want you to go out and represent us around the world.’ And it was a good division of labor because we needed to make it clear to the rest of the world, that we were going to get our house in order. We were going to stimulate, and grow, and get back to positive growth and work with our friends and partners.”

… “So I think we did that. I’m very proud of the stabilization and the really solid leadership that the administration provided that I think now, leads us to be able to deal with problems like Ukraine because we’re not so worried about a massive collapse in Europe and China — trying to figure out to do with all their bond holdings and all the problems we were obsessed with. I think we really restored American leadership in the best sense. That, once again — people began to rely on us as setting the values, setting the standards. I just don’t want to lose that because we have a dysfunctional political situation in Washington. Then of course, a lot of particulars, but I am finishing my book so you’ll be able to read all about it.” (end of Hillary quote)

Yeah, right… “dysfunctional political situation in Washington”. This is the buzz-phrase that liberals always fall back on when they have to cover up for the failure of Obama, Hillary Clinton and all the rest.

We will all certainly be interested to read Hillary’s book. Perhaps it will explain one of her accomplishments.
