Serious Questions for Hillary over Clinton Foundation

A new report has surfaced that shines a negative light on the ties between the Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. According to Associated Press writing about the report:

More than half the people outside the government who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money — either personally or through companies or groups — to the Clinton Foundation. It’s an extraordinary proportion indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president.

At least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family charity or pledged commitments to its international programs, according to a review of State Department calendars released so far to The Associated Press. Combined, the 85 donors contributed as much as $156 million. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million.

This is very serious stuff. This is called “pay for play” where donors get special access and treatment from an elected official in exchange for money, in this case contributions to the foundation. This is what the foundation was set up for. This is typical Bill Clinton sleaze, to get around the law.

And this is precisely what America was founded to guard against – government corruption and insider dealing and profiteering like we see in dictatorships. Donald Trump has compared it to a third-world corruption scheme and that is correct.

Hillary Clinton responded: “What Trump has said is ridiculous. My work as secretary of state was not influenced by any outside forces. I made policies based on what I thought was right. …You know more about the (Clinton) foundation than you know about anything concerning Donald Trump’s wealth, his business, his tax returns…” She added that neither she nor her husband had ever drawn a salary from the foundation.

OK, let’s look at this one issue at a time. First, the idea that the Clintons have never drawn a “salary” from this foundation is typical Clinton subterfuge. The “salary” is irrelevant. What is germane is that the Clinton Foundation is a multibillion dollar slush fund intended primarily to aggrandize but also to indirectly enrich Bill and Hillary Clinton by buying their influence and financing their activities under the guise of being a “charity”.

Second, her duties were indeed influenced by “outside forces”. That kind of money is going to exert influence. It has been happening for thousands of years. That is precisely why Hillary responds to donors with face-to-face meetings. It is all about the money. Period. End of sentence.

Third, Hillary says that we all “know more about the foundation” than about Trump’s business interests. This is baloney. We know very little about how this foundation operates. This new report is a bombshell that is being greeted with incredulity.

This foundation is an organization with layers of secrecy and intrigue involving billions of dollars from donors all over the world, some of them very suspicious, like the government of Saudi Arabia, and thousands of wealthy individuals.

For decades Bill and Hillary Clinton have had scandal after scandal after scandal. And their reaction has always been that there is a vast conspiracy that is out to get them, or they shift the spotlight elsewhere, like to Trump. And their sycophant media cronies play along.

Friends, the reason that the Clintons are always under suspicion is because there has never been an American political couple so blatantly suspicious as the Clintons. Everything that they do seems to have a cloud over it. Even their so-called marriage is a sham. Here are just three examples out of dozens of past skullduggery:

*On his very last day as president in January 2001 Bill Clinton legally pardoned an international fugitive named Marc Rich. And guess what happened in the years before the pardon? Rich’s ex-wife gave $450,000 to the Clinton presidential library and $100,000 to Hillary Clinton’s US Senate campaign. In other words everything the Clintons do has a price tag, even when it scrapes the bottom of the ethical barrel.

*In 1999 president Bill Clinton pardoned 16 Puerto Rican terrorists from jail in order to assure the Puerto Rican vote for his wife when she was running for the US Senate from New York state. This is not what decent (non-Democrat) American leaders do. Here is Real Clear Politics ( reporting on May 29, 2008:

Despite the Clintons’ repeated denials, there is evidence that the pardons were offered to the terrorists with Hillary Clinton’s full knowledge. In the Oct. 4, 1999, issue of the New Republic, Jose Rivera, then a New York City Councilman, is quoted as saying that he personally approached Hillary on Aug. 9, 1999. He said he gave her a packet of information about the FALN members along with a personal letter asking her to “speak to the president and ask him to consider granting clemency” to them. Two days later, on Aug. 11, President Clinton would offer pardons to the terrorists.

*How about the contributions flowing into Bill Clinton’s 1996 re-election campaign that were prosecuted as attempts by communist Chinese agents to influence the election?

No, nothing to see here, Hillary would say. This was all just fabricated by Republicans, she would claim. Except that some people went to jail and other fled the US because it was yet another serious case of corruption.

These are major issues that go against the ideals that our nation is supposed to represent. The Clinton Foundation is just the latest entry in the Clinton corruption playbook.

Here are more excerpts from Associated Press about the report on the Clinton Foundation, with a comment after each:

Associated Press reports: The meetings between (Hillary Clinton) and foundation donors do not appear to violate legal agreements Clinton and former president Bill Clinton signed before she joined the State Department in 2009. But the frequency of the overlaps shows the intermingling of access and donations, and fuels perceptions that giving the foundation money was a price of admission for face time with Clinton. Her calendars and emails released as recently as this week describe scores of contacts she and her top aides had with foundation donors. comment: Any half-brained law school student could prosecute this as legal corruption. Connect the dots!

Associated Press reports: Clinton met with representatives of at least 16 foreign governments that donated as much as $170 million to the Clinton charity, but they were not included in AP’s calculations because such meetings would presumably have been part of her diplomatic duties. comment: No, they just happened by accident to cough up millions. Big surprise. Do we know what they discussed at these meetings? No.

Associated Press reports: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump fiercely criticized the links between the Clinton Foundation and the State Department, saying his general election opponent had delivered “lie after lie after lie.” He added. “Hillary Clinton is totally unfit to hold public office,” he said at a rally Tuesday night in Austin, Texas. “It is impossible to figure out where the Clinton Foundation ends and the State Department begins. It is now abundantly clear that the Clintons set up a business to profit from public office.” comment: If America had not descended into the corrupt and ignorant state that it is in today most Americans would refuse to vote for Hillary.

Associated Press reports: On Monday, Bill Clinton said in a statement that if his wife were to win (the presidency), he would step down from the foundation’s board and stop all fundraising for it. The foundation would also accept donations only from U.S. citizens and what it described as independent philanthropies, while no longer taking gifts from foreign groups, U.S. companies or corporate charities. comment: In other words they would stop the full-time sleaze if she is president. It would only be part-time sleaze.

Associated Press reports: Those planned changes would not affect more than 6,000 donors who have already provided the Clinton charity with more than $2 billion in funding since its creation in 2000. comment: Too late… That $2 billion is gone.

Associated Press reports: S. Daniel Abraham, whose name also was included in emails released by the State Department as part of another lawsuit, is a Clinton fundraising bundler who was listed in Clinton’s planners for eight meetings with her at various times. A billionaire behind the Slim-Fast diet and founder of the Center for Middle East Peace, Abraham told the AP last year his talks with Clinton concerned Mideast issues. comment: Yes, like how Slim-Fast now will be available in every Middle Eastern country, especially in the new Sharia Strawberry flavor.

Associated Press reports: Muhammad Yunus, a Bangladeshi economist who won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for pioneering low-interest “microcredit” for poor business owners, met with Clinton three times and talked with her by phone during a period when Bangladeshi government authorities investigated his oversight of a nonprofit bank and ultimately pressured him to resign from the bank’s board. Throughout the process, he pleaded for help in messages routed to Clinton, and she ordered aides to find ways to assist him. comment: Nobel Prize, no problem. Yunus’ US bank branch gave hundreds of thousands to the Clinton Foundation. How convenient.
